  1. This is correct. Loosen and remove the bail from the arm to diagnose if it is the mechanism or a bent bail and proceed accordingly.
  2. Yes, the Magnum is the full sized one. Colors? I own probably 20, wife likes them, and I give them to me, I mean her as presents... Not sure when they stopped making the One Minus. There are a couple of good knockoffs still being made. I just looked it up, and the 1 Minus is available (or at least offered), as well as a Mid sized one.
  3. The "regular" is actually the baby torpedo. They also in addition to it and the tiny, they make (or made) a teeny. Much like the One Minus, the smaller version became the standard size somewhere along the line. Who has a full size One Minus?
  4. You heard it too?...
  5. Why are you having to replace them that often? You either have major water intrusion or a worn surface on something or both at a minimum. I'd be willing to bet you have more than just a bearing problem. Are you towing long distances on the highway? Properly installed and maintained bearings will last for several seasons.
  6. I've worked as a deckhand on several charter boats, and got to keeping a stick with two bunker snags tied on and ready to go in a rod holder. Got pretty good at grappling rods lost overboard by fares. Since they usually have line out, if you see it go in, you can snare it before it sinks too far. usually you get the line, and end up with the lure/bait and handline the rod in.
  7. I know it's probably in my head, but I do better with an Indiana/Colorado than a double Indiana. Haven't tried the Convent spinnerbait yet, looks like a good one. I'll grab some when they go on sale I guess. Is it me, or does Jason Christie always looks like he's had a couple?...
  8. The pictures are a little tough, but I think I know what that is, but they don't make them anymore, and fleabay is the only place I see them.
  9. I see that at least a couple of times a season.
  10. Everyone has the right and freedom to fish any way they see fit, but ergonomically and biomechanically, it is just a superior way to do it. I won't buy (or if I do I'll have the handle redone) a spinning rod with the lock nut in front.
  11. Like all humans should. This is why spinning rods with no foregrip are silly.
  12. Swimbait, buzz bait, large popper, floating jerkbait.
  13. Congratulations! That's not bragging, that is justifiable pride showing, and it's a tribute to both her abilities and efforts as well as your parenting.
  14. No, fluke don't nibble, when they want it, they want it. Most likely you will feel the weight of the fish before you feel anything else, Oh, and Gulp... Fishing from shore, jetties and surf, casting and fighting the fish become the primary factors.
  15. Too much rod browsing on TW.
  16. The Lightning you already own will handle that. Load it with braid, 15-20lb. ST Croix's line of surf rods have a 7' version that works well for a lot of things. The Teramar is a nice stick, but not for what you are looking to do IMNSHO.
  17. The line tie on those is fairly far back on the top of their head. If you tie a knot that will snug tight and slide it to the very front it will ride a bit more horizontal, but it will always point down a bit. That thing catches fish. Fish it really slow or really fast.
  18. I gotta give it to the crazy angler with a knot, he made a mean ginger, garlic and scallion steamed LMB... I don't eat fresh water fish often, but several are pretty good table fare. Nothing wrong with harvesting fish.
  19. Now I know how Aaron Judge feels when he gets the take sign from the dugout and the curve swims in down the middle of the plate...
  20. Thank you for posting this A-Jay. Everyone be safe out there, know your craft and your craft (I just made that up). We see boaters of all experience levels get into trouble every year. Like most accidents, some are unavoidable, but most are. Things can go south in a hurry. Use diligence and common sense while enjoying our addiction.
  21. I've never anally proved a bass in a beam of light....
  22. "I like big bass, and I cannot lie"...
  23. Women do indeed make better natural anglers, and II have lots of experience to base this on.
