  1. Besides guys with Quantum reels?..
  2. Yup. You want enough braid for 2x the longest cast you can make with the heaviest lure you'll be using (downwind).
  3. 300% better than ABEC 3...
  4. BFS underspin, so yeah...
  5. I'm pretty sure the string in string theory is Tatsu...
  6. Nope, JBs get crazy sharp (technical term) light wire round bend trebles without exception. Will you hook them with singles when they are chocking them? sure, but when I'm relying on the JB to get it done, I want the ones that are only window shopping too.
  7. I guess defying the laws of physics is worth $24.99...
  8. Your Ferrari won't get you to work any faster in morning rush hour traffic than your Kia, but it's nice to own one if you can afford it, or dream about one if you can't.
  9. I tie a perfection loop for all my sinker on the bottom rigs.
  10. I will throw a JB year round grass permitting. If you have enough space to work one, they will entice reaction strikes in the heat for sure, both shallow and deep. The places I fish most won't allow me to fish one often once the salad gets thick.
  11. Reminds me of those 70s after shave TV commercials where the guy would splash some on, then hot women would chase him around...
  12. Large swim baits, glide baits and the such get thrown on 20, 25 or 30 lb BG.
  13. A guy named Rembrandt plops down and wants to "modestly" take the art and experience out of color and make it more scientific, Are Picassos his favorite lures? is it just me?... Oh yes please Master, teach me something....
  14. That's how I do it also.
  15. We do some racks for Yackers (cause their money is green too, not because I think grown men in those silly things makes sense) but mostly do racks for bikes. A sturdy set of rails from one of the leading brands is money well spent. I like Thule, but Yakima, and others are good too. Don't worry about the roof slope, just spread the bars as far as possible so that they are leveled, or the front one is slightly lower. I like ratcheting straps better than the carriers, but you have to make sure you don't crush the yak. Last two things, no reason a small car can't carry a yak on the roof. You can put one or two rails on it, then a hitch receiver with a "tuning fork" attachment, similar to what you see on some pick ups, and have it supported further back. AND.... Loading and unloading a large heavy yak on the roof solo, sounds like a good idea, but for all but the young and strong, isn't.
  16. We have salt water rods repaired like that quite a bit, I've also had bass rods shortened and lengthened from the butt end similarly. Some builders will tell you you have to strip the whole blank, but you don't.
  17. Velveeta, Big Macs, Everything at Taco Bell...
  18. Oh yeah, I forgot about the fluoro... But yes, not a good idea with a 3 oz or heavier lure, but we're talking about a buzz bait here.
  19. Fish will only pull if you pull, and they will pull opposite the direction that you are pulling. Fish coming to the surface and possibly breaking the surface are only doing so because they cannot overcome the force the angler is applying, and thus the resulting direction of the vector created has a larger up component.
  20. I've read that somewhere on the InterWeb...
  21. I've got some recent WP 110s and the hooks while sharp, are unnecessarily heavy gauge wire. I replaced them with some the same size of lighter wire, as I fish it with mono, and get bites on a long cast sometimes. I can see how bad technique can cost fish. Steady with a bent rod keeps them pinned.
  22. [In my best Randy Moss voice]...COM'ON MEIN!
  23. If we take "various sizes" to mean, let's say 4, I see at least 16 presentations, and that's before changing weights on any of the 3 above that use one. Only in a LMB angler's mind could this be anything close to "one lure".
