  1. Ande is not the only company that makes IGFA rated lines, though Tournament is certainly very good line. Premium is very similar to BG, and that's a good thing.
  2. Fun killer. Those Japanese JIZZ bearings sound interesting...
  3. Solid, basic reel ideal for terrible looking wives...
  4. Good choice, I'd slap a Fuego on it.
  5. There is a HVAC guy on YT that has a bumper sticker that says "Your wife is hot, I can help."
  6. Zombies haven't changed anything other than I've started winding some heavy copper on the hookshaft to fine tune weight and act as a bait keeper.
  7. Same, the first time it happened, I thought it was a fluke, but I've since had several poppers and frogs just disappear without as much as a ripple, usually in really calm conditions, and it's usually a good one. It's a thing.
  8. You want the consistency of light grease. Put the olive oil in last to adjust viscosity.
  9. It can go bad quickly, but will last a few days and NOTHING works better. Olive oil, strained bacon grease, garlic powder (not garlic salt), bunker oil to taste.
  10. If I understand the question, I find it easier to find concentrations of fish in the pre spawn than at the fall transition. That being said, they are the two best times to locate numbers of fish. Of course it's dependent on the specific body of water, location, and conditions.
  11. This^. The second "tap" is usually the fish spitting out the bait, which is why we hear of so many swings and misses. As Tom mentioned above, a bass will inhale a bait by sucking it in, so ironically, a larger fish's bite will be usually be more subtle than a smaller one's with standard or smaller baits. Once the initial bite is missed, either the fish will hold the bait and maybe move away with it or spit it out.
  12. LOL. My 3 nieces would hide them when we had family gatherings.
  13. Big fan of both, no real way to fish them wrong. The prop on the torpedo may need to be tuned, mostly by adjusting the screw eye, and twisting and bending the blades a bit.
  14. The new ones are ok, the originals are way better, but good luck finding some. I'm really liking (rather the fish are) the larger Boss Pop, not as big as the P70, but bigger than the "standard" Pop-R. Sadly (to me) The spook and the WP have been a bit better than poppers last couple of times out.
  15. I don't use them because the hookup ratio with them is like a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Another thing I thought of is that you can get a pretty good idea as to what happened by how the plastic looks on the hook after the strike.
  16. It will work. I use the size of the hook to fine tune ROF. I use a size 1 or 3/0 sometimes, but mostly the 2 sizes I posted originally. Well you might as well go all in then, get yourself some surgical tubing That snugly fits your bait of choice and slice 1/8"-3/16" (metric conversion available ) sections and slide it to where you want to place the hook (topic for different thread) hook just the surge tube or as much of the worm as you like, fish one Senko all day. If you really want to get crazy, save your "spent" t-rigged ones and use those.
  17. Gamakatsu finesse wide gap hook, for a 5" Senko a 1/0 or 2/0 will work well.
  18. I like the uni-uni for similar diameter lines, and the modified Albright for braid to larger diameter leader.
  19. How many fish have you set the hook on in this time, and how many have gotten off. We may be looking at an actual problem with either tackle or technique, or just perspective. Also, when folks not used to hooking up with big fish, do get a good one on, they often unconsciously do things differently, which is not what you want to do, and can lead to lost fish.
  20. Agrre with the single willow, or do away with the blade entirely and throw a swim jig.
  21. Ragy T-rigged plastics, and toads.
  22. On the rare times I wacky rig, that's what I'm using (with light mono) hook up is almost 100%.
  23. Realizing that "thinking like a fish" is to not think at all.
