  1. Yeah, that gets annoying. It's actually pretty easy to turn most into spinning ones.
  2. Yuck! Who would do that?...
  3. Only a hand full are bass rods, let's not get crazy... My dedicated LI sound porgy rods on the other hand...
  4. Like they say at Little Creek, "Two is one, one is none" When there is money on the line, every detail counts.
  5. Yup, but I take a 6'6"- 6'9" MH Fast or Mod Fast and cut 2" off the handle with a hacksaw. I use a 6' for poppers, but that's a whole different animal. A man who has a Rapala AND a pinnacle rod as favorites knows his stuff...
  6. Depends on where, when, and how you are fishing. Ironically, the more "elite" you are, the fewer rods you can get away with...
  7. Not to mention the length, both overall, and that of the handle.
  8. I think catching big fish is mostly about fishing around big fish, my PB came on a 4" Senko, and I've caught big fish on all sorts of lures large and small, but that being said, a spinnerbait (particular ones around this time through the spawn) gets me some of my biggest every year, along with a big chatter bait, a frog, and a swimbait situationally.
  9. Is this rhetorical? If not, see #5 on my "you know how I know you don't fish" list...
  10. Big top water like a plopper or buzzbait yes, spooks not so much.
  11. Hey gotta get out there right? Interesting thing happened to me a couple of days ago. I was pickerel fishing with a large floating JB, sweeping it and pausing, and got distracted by something for a second, and as I looked up to see what it was the JB floated to the top, and about 5 seconds later got hit on top with a big splash by what I thought was a pickerel, well it turned out to be a 4 1/2ish lb bass. I'm gonna go back out to try to do that on purpose. Water probably high 40s low 50s.
  12. Not usually, but I have seen them down about 80 ft down. I'm sure they wander deeper at times if required.
  13. There are no trash fish, just trash fishermen...
  14. I'm thinking it's the boat and not the ff.
  15. BR members, Can I see pictures of the wives and Gfs before I decide? Pros: Larry Nixon KVD Hackney Jason Christie Marty Stone
  16. I have found that wearing something decreases rod sensitive...
  17. We have them in the rivers and streams around here, most of the ones I've seen are under 12"
  18. Francesco Milleri is a Bond villain...
  19. Why are we using a wide gap hook on a skinny worm?
  20. A bass will eat pretty much any fish (or other critter) that fits in its mouth.
  21. Yup, It's amazing how much colder a metal side plate feels. I fish all winter fresh and salt without gloves, so I have cold weather reels.
  22. Low carb? Marinate and grill on skewers, or steam in Old Bay. We got some nice ones off the boats in Biloxi when we were in Gulfport last year.
  23. Frustrating for sure, but not surprising. If you aren't set up for these logistics to happen automatically or self verify, the best thing to do is say no, otherwise no one is happy, not the customer, not the person on the phone making minimum wage, not the owners with the dwindling margins, not the guy working in the warehouse, wait, maybe the bass...
  24. Figured as much....
