  1. LOL. Como se dice poetic license en Espanol?, and where did the wiggly thing on top of the n, and the upside down leading question mark go?... I'll be here all week...
  2. Oh good, you had me worried... Yeah, I've used spinnerbaits for them and caught with it, but they don't really add anything over other things.
  3. When I remember, I like to back off the drags, but not all the way, kinda where there is just a tad of friction with the spool
  4. I'd do the SLX and save the pesetas for some sangria...
  5. The Dobyns standard (as in not cranking specific) rods will work fine with their more moderate action, I would to the 703C or 733C.
  6. I'm fishing with whatever Jason Christie tells me to fish with....., till next year....
  7. Striped bass or LMB?, I need to know whether to congratulate or laugh...
  8. Don't skimp on memory, and as with most things, stay away from the cheapest, and most expensive, and you will get a good bang for the buck.
  9. There are differences between braids, but for fresh water fishing, I haven't found it really matters.
  10. That's striped bass fishing in a nutshell. Uncle Josh 70S you heathen!...
  11. Sounds like fun, 48 lbs is a good one. We used to troll "A-rigs" in Montauk, wasn't unusual to have multiple striped bass, and bluefish on one as we ran all baits, no teasers.
  12. Don't tell my tiny JB rod, but it's actually my crappie rod, shhhhhh....
  13. I fish a 2/0 round bend on a 4" Fluke jr, and a 3/0" on the full sized one, don't miss many.
  14. Depends on where and when you will be fishing. Most of the lures you mentioned are good, but may or may not be what you want at a particular time and place. Some jig heads and plastics are always a good idea, as can be metal lures, again, depends.
  15. Interesting, that's the temp when I start putting the JBs down. I don't think we are quite there yet here, and the square bill, chatter, and spinnerbait are getting bit better than the JB already. Don't get me wrong, situationally the JB can be a year round lure, and I feel naked if I don't have at least one Long A with me.
  16. Isn't that a Wally World brand?
  17. LC 0.5, and Combat mini (and this other one I don't mention)...
  18. Swimbaits are not my preferred baits for early pre spawn, but a skinny dipper on a weighted hook or the back of a swim jig will catch them.
  19. I like fishing frogs, but I usually only go to them when the cover requires it, If I can get a popper, walking bait or buzz bait through, that's what I'll be doing. The rod is a 7' labeled MH fast, but it's a bit more powerful than that and it locks out about a third down, which I like for frogging, It's a DSG house brand, that I bought on clearance a while back, and I like it better for frogging better than anything else I've tried, I also throw big spinnerbaits and live line for striped bass with it, (using mono) cause it's just one of those sticks that works. Reel is a Pinnacle Tara 6.3 with 65 PP, I fish it with a short heavy mono leaders cause there are snakeheads and big pickerel, and I hate donating tackle. Frogs, Pad Crasher and Trophy most of the time, but truth be told, with the proper mods most frogs work ok.
  20. It's a balance, depending on the contours, the bottom composition, and the number of rods being trolled. A swimbait on a jig head or swim jig is a good option if cover or snags are a big problem.
  21. Social Media?.... I don't think it's the browsers, I've had the issue with both Chrome and IE.
