Just for S&Gs I went into Tackle Warehouse and it lists 201 choices for rods between 6' and 6'9".
I think most folks perceive what is available as what is being talked about.
I own and fish several 6'6" rods, as well as a couple of 6' dedicated popper rods.
I really get a kick when somewhat askes "what's the best all around rod" and the answer is a 7'3" or 7'4" rod.
Potato chips are packed by weight, not volume...
To do it for sport, or to sport (verb) is to do something for amusement and recreation.
It just occurred to me that SPORT is a good WORDLE starting word...
The guides are easy enough with a razor blade or exacto knife, the handle components are a little more tricky, but not overly difficult. Cut them off with a little extra blank on each end, and ream or drill out as required.
Two thoughts...
-Thank you for the pictures, hope we can make it happen, no need to pack RI plastics, check....
-I guess I have to replace Jason Christie, he's gonna be way to busy to fish with little old me, how about Ott Defoe...
Matching trailer to jig is important to me, not so much in color (although in really clear water, sometimes) but rather in size, profile, and action, make or break. Of course I'll be fishing nothing but a War Eagle jig and a YUM craw trailer from now on,.......until next year.....
Would have to see the exact layout to recommend best COA, but sounds like just getting the bow on the trailer and winch it in might work. Ah to be young again, I used to back up the Cherokee with a 12' car topper on the roof at a similar spot, tree lined no less, and take it down without touching the Jeep at all by my self (chicks dig it). Now I probably couldn't get it in and out of a truck bed.
I wouldn't even think about points until after the spawn in a lake like that, I'd look for them in 12'- to 6' adjacent to spawning areas, and in 2'-5' in the spawning areas. Bass tend to spawn in the same places from year to year (populations, not necessarily individuals) so some intel there would go a long way. Id split that lake down the middle, and figure if the right side or left side holds more fish. I'm thinking the right side first. Or just ride around staring at the FF screen...
Same here, except 1/2 the snow. Fish had already started moving shallow and were biting moving baits for me, I'll probably be out Monday to see what they want. That is some clear water.
