  1. I like the Terminator titanium spinnerbaits, but they came in two types, the ones that fell apart after a few days, and the ones that seem to last for ever. I still have maybe a dozen of the latter...
  2. 43 in the morning, 41 in the evening, very important...
  3. When they are chasing bait up high, a double willow with smallish silver blades in something whitish or Sexy Shadish skirt reeled as fast as you can is usually what they want. Doesn't surprise me it's not a big thing in FL, or other mostly natural shallow weedy lakes elsewhere. Yes.
  4. Please tell me that's not a Tac clip.
  5. That's a good one, but I'd do a tandem. A 3/8 Booyah, in the same configuration gets bit most places I go. I prefer gold over silver, but that's mostly in my head, a #4 1/2 or #5 willow behind a #3 colorado would be my stranded on an island choice, though I prefer other combinations most times in the real world.
  6. 7-9 mm ID surge hose.
  7. Me thinks any moving bait under 3/8ths in close quarters.
  8. Oh no, I know what I'm missing, superfluous parts...
  9. Don't know, never gonna find out...
  10. Bass boats of any material aren't really designed to handle rough seas, sure the larger heavier ones will do ok in the hands of an experienced operator, but 4' tight chop is not a place for them, particularly when we are talking going out for fun. Why would you go out in 4 footers in a 17' boat in a recreational situation? Not smart.
  11. Tis a poor Captain that blames his boat...
  12. I don't know about the best, but the worst without a doubt is that Flambeau spinnerbait Leggo thing that I got for Christmas. Did one of the product managers let their 7 year old design that thing? I couldn't even figure out how they would go in there, and the guy pitching it on YT had a hard time too. I pulled on all my thespian chops I could muster when I unwrapped it, but I knew I'd failed, when my wife kept repeating "It was really cheap, it was on sale". So now I have a waterproof shoebox once I get rid of all the spacers, which I certainly will.
  13. Not on JBs. What I do when the bite is on, and they are really eating it, is I bend the point on each hook facing down (the one facing forward when hanging down) until the point touches the shank, and then squeeze the barbs down on all the other points.
  14. This, plus try spinning the handle without a spool to help pin point the source. The spool shaft, bail assembly, or handle would be my guess, but without seeing it, it could be a bunch of things, including something unrelated to the impact.
  15. Yeah, but ya'll think a casserole is pizza, so.....
  16. Yes, there is that, but unlike most other sports, there is no way for most of the guys to make much, and in some cases any money, so technically, they aren't professionals.
  17. Nope. I had a great job, but it involved traveling most of the time different city or country every week or two, expense account, best hotels, and a bunch of perks, can't imagine doing that while towing a boat and staying in cheap hotels, for maybe money.
  18. Assuming the same spool diameter, those are indistinguishable.
  19. Yes, that happens too, exacerbated by the lowered ph in rain water.
  20. AAAAA, The American Anarchist Anglers Association of America, you know MREs and ammo expire, so you should go in the bunker and rotate them out (FIFO) once in a while, yes?...
  21. Amazing how fast they can run with heels...
  22. All fresh water in the US (and elsewhere) have elevated mercury levels, even the remote pristine looking ones. It comes from the rain, so there is no escaping it. As long as you aren't feeding fish to small children or pregnant women on a regular basis, there should be no issue. PCBs, and other such pollutants are more of a problem in estuaries and the ocean.
