  1. It does, I Fibonacci space the guides...
  2. No, collecting purchase data and ignoring customer surveys, in the old days it required real work and time, today the algorithms do it almost real time, what's more, they create the feed back loop that feeds on it self. The only hard part is not spilling all the m&ms all over the baby carriages...
  3. True Natural Frequency made my life force crystal giggle, or maybe it's sympathetic oscillation, what's next? the Lowrance transformation?....
  4. The things we do for love by 10 cc
  5. We're casting fentanyl now, are we?...
  6. I remember when a nickel bag was 5 bucks, and you could roll 5 fatties or 7 skinnies from it...
  7. It's always nice to get that kicker out of the way early...
  8. Yeah, except that most composites are quasi isotropic by nature and usual layup. Making a reel frame stronger than it needs to be for most applications, and certainly bass fishing is not that difficult. The problem is marketing, there is no demand for "carbon fiber" frames, because most consumers assume the characteristics of the current ones which are essentially resin with graphite powder in it, and not much better than an adequate plastic one.
  9. Cheer Leaders...
  10. Strength and stiffness are two different things, that being said, there is no reason why a true carbon fiber reel body can't be as strong or stronger, as well as stiff and lighter than a metal one. Contrary to popular belief carbon fiber composite manufacturing isn't really that complicated or high tech. I don't see a reason for "forging" which by definition, we wouldn't be doing here. Sorry for the rant, got a flash back of a tennis racquet carbon splinter under the cuticle...
  11. Where can I get a Pop Max in zombie green?...
  12. LOL. I want to see your reading comprehension scores... I was actually very good with academics. Learning always came easy to me, and had a bunch of educators in the family, and it was rare where I didn't ace tests, also had the parents that wanted to know what happened to the 2 points when I came home with a 98. I always thought multiple choice was a way to kill brain cells and stifle thinking.
  13. I own 3 Fury rods, and like them for a bunch of things, bottom t-rigging is not one of them, so I'm going with the St Croix in this case.
  14. Neither the handle length nor the gear ratio ("conjunction junction, how's that function?") have any effect on the drag. I doubt there is any difference on those reels, probably a typo, and even if there was a difference, plenty of drag for inshore salt use in either case. I think there is a bill in committee prohibiting bass guys from discussing drags...
  15. LOL. I don't consider myself a racquetball player, though I'm not bad. I used to play serious players, and every so often one of my shots would hit them, and they would say it's not a do over because the ball obviously wouldn't have reached the front wall, sure enough, that's the rule, so I made sure there was no doubt about the next several shots, which I intended to go through them into the wall, no rule against that, the welts on their backs was just gravy...
  16. Just when I think I have the choice figured out, the fish show me I don't, I usually have both tied on, and let them decide. I tend to use more subtle trailers on swim jigs, and let the bladed jig handle the weedless lipless role, but it varies. I will say that I don't fish the swim jig too much in really cold water, where I do with the chatters, That, an Indiana spinnerbait, and square bill, is usually all I fish until it becomes plastic soaking time.
  17. Yeah, most folks picking (or is it pickling) up the sport are older folks who haven't played racquet or paddle sports before, or have only done so casually. In my case, I was a serious tennis player, and avid ping pong player, and my job included having to try racquets and play all other racquet and paddle sports quite a bit. For us it comes naturally, and we tend to play a more aggressive style. I just started playing, mostly because the wife wanted to get into it. It's a goof.
  18. Albright when wrapping mono, modified Albright when wrapping braid. The difference is the mod wraps in both directions.
  19. larger spool is generally better for mono lines. The only draw back, besides weight and overkill, is the increased effective IPT.
  20. No, that's a short arm. The distance between the head and bend is part of the equation. My suggestion is find a compact spinnerbait you like, and switch the blades to whatever, if it doesn't already come in that combination. I can't believe I'm saying (typing) this, but the Tacticals have a good video on spinnerbaits out, don't agree with everything in it, but a bunch of good info nonetheless.
  21. For the same reason(s) exams are difficult, lack of knowledge and experience of the subject matter at hand. It's not the exam, it's the test taker.
  22. Deterministic universe meets opportunity costs, very good grasshopper...
