  1. I would do a 16' as an all around jon.
  2. Snakeheads can make a lot of spinnerbaits single use.
  3. Just insert your SIPR token and you will see them below...
  4. Welcome. Spinnerbaits are all about the weight, dimensions, and blades, so they are easy to duplicate or modify. Most of the ones I fish are frankenbaits, I hardly ever fish any stock. If I could, I would only fish spinnerbaits and poppers, so I've tried pretty much every combination possible.
  5. Here is what I would do, grab the spinnerbait you like and then head somewhere that stocks a bunch of them. Hold yours up to the ones on the racks until you find one or some that match the weight and head to bend distance, and are as long or longer to the swivel (don't worry about the blades or color) grab a couple of those and put them in your basket. Head to the blades isle, and match the blade(s) on yours with the ones on the pegs, when you find some, put those in your cart, repeat with the skirt isle. Now head home and get a pair of needle nose (or round nose or bailing pliers if you are feeling fancy) and paint by numbers.
  6. All purpose and cranking is not a thing, probably one of the presentations that actually lends itself to particular specific rods. That being said, the depth, size, and pull of the baits will determine what rod will work well (or not work well). If you are talking DD22s or Larger SKs or the like, that is going to require a lot more rod than say a Bandit 300, or Fat Free shads or the like. The BPS cranking sticks are good, reasonable, and they offer quite a few options. I like 3 different rods for cranking, and 2 would be the minimum, could it be done with one rod? yeah, I can (and have) hammered a nail with a large crescent wrench in a pinch, but not something I would want to do on a regular basis. If you list the baits you plan to throw, that will help narrow it down to specific rod models.
  7. Yes, and no. If I know there are fish there for sure (by whatever method) then I will spend some more time and effort than if I don't, however, this does not directly depend on whether I'm fishing shallow or deep. Think of bed fishing as an example. That being said, while finding fish is always the first step, finding willing fish is 1a.
  8. I find for deep cranking, water clarity dictates lure color, usually one is trying to imitate bait fish, so something light on the belly with a darkish top, and maybe a bright color accent works well, the more dirty the water, the larger the accent, until in really dirty water, it becomes the lure color, the second color is something crawfish like when bouncing it off the bottom, doing that. When cranking in clear water, getting close to the forage is how I do it.
  9. -Date -Latitude -Weather conditions -Time of day -Size/depth of body of water -Forage species -What would Christie use?
  10. Bass think gets in the way again. Find the fish and then present a lure to them. But yes, the FF plays a bigger role in finding fish the deeper you go, (usually).
  11. Yes, I've never fished in Michigan, so maybe bass are different there than everywhere else, but I see a lot of overkill in your rod choices.
  12. I watch it for the entertainment value, and like most every other YTber, he's just putting up content that will maximize traffic. The whole Barney Rubble decor, tech hating, kids out of control, bare bones production thing works for him, so more power to him. Filleting Senkos made me laugh out loud.
  13. I don't usually crank with braid, but I do the equivalent in the salt quite a bit. A softer rod with 20-30 lb braid and a mono leader is the way to go. The advantage is greater sensitivity, and deeper diving, specially in current.
  14. Shark range from excellent to inedible, depending on the species and size.
  15. Everyone I know who owns a Zuke likes it. Good motors for sure.
  16. I never use a loop knot. Palomar and uni most of the time.
  17. Oh, QED, I thought it said GED...
  18. LOL "No respect I tell ya, no respect, my wife's been eating a lot of burgers lately, last night I turned into the driveway and hit her with the car, she said why didn't you drive around? I told her I was low on gas, didn't think I would make it"...
  19. You can match it up to a 1000-2000 reel with 6-8 lb mono, and throw small things, or 8-10 lb braid, with or without an 8-whatever lb leader, and do a lot of things with it for bass as well as other things.
  20. Ok, so if 1 gm= 1/28.3th oz, how much fat is in a Royal with cheese? Extra credit for calculating kilo calories. Show all work, partial credit given, no penalty for guessing, begin...
