  1. Use a fluke as a chatter trailer, and knock off a two fer. A fluke or rat tail BA is one of my go to trailers.
  2. Jig, chatter, and fluke? Are you guys casting into the water? That just seems crazy to me.
  3. If it is rated say 20-40 lb line and 2-4 oz or so it will work for seabass and stripers, soup? I dunno, and strippers require a brass pole that won't flex. Those Gold Cups are good sticks.
  4. I like the color, but I'm pretty sure that (maybe except in FL and TX) You can put any color trailer on any color jig.
  5. An A-rig that wasn't in the rod holder with the boat going 2.4 knots...
  6. No, afraid they'll fall apart before I get to the register...
  7. LOL. If I was being a downer, I would have said something like "That rod will snap in two way before you find what it's good for anyway"...
  8. I use them situationally on swim jigs and chatterbaits, but only when I'm using a really long trailer, say over 7", started doing it to get the usually short striking snakeheads and pickerel. I use a 3/0 usually, I don't do it often, but this time of year, I like big baits. Haven't had any issues with deep hooking fish.
  9. Walk right by the War Eagles all the time....
  10. English is my second language, so maybe it's me...
  11. This is a misconception often held by recreational anglers. The reason folks catch more smaller fish is because there are more (a lot more) smaller fish. The other part of it is "large fish got large because they are smarter", no, they got big because of statistics, some have to barring extreme conditions. Take a peek at a graph of YOY numbers from hatching through adult for any species sometime.
  12. This is what I see "I impulse bought an engagement ring..." In my mind, you don't buy a screw driver and then go looking for screws, when the need arises to turn a screw, you get the right screw driver. #bassackwards. That being said, that rod is a tad overpowered, and not extreme in any of it's attributes, so it will fish a bunch of middle of the road baits adequately.
  13. I have some mono from '96 that has been stored in a cool dark place, still as good as new. I'm sure some formulations may not hold up as well. I don't think any states have passed any laws against spooling some up tying it to something solid, and yanking on it to test it and your knots.
  14. I'm getting old and can't keep track of my car keys, but I'm pretty sure I put one in my cart earlier.
  15. The time of year and weather pattern is where it starts though...
  16. Miss a workout, did we?...
  17. To make them smaller, and more subtle.
  18. It's on his website for $25, that's like 5 pad crashers though...
  19. That looks like Dawn and a deck brush...
  20. Yeah, those are two completely different rivers for sure. The Potomac is really 2 fisheries, normally broken down into the upper, and lower or tidal portions. I fished up from Clayton to Chippewa, and that Gobie infested paradise kicked my butt for 2 and a half days until I figured some things out. We are headed to Massena in a couple of weeks (not my choice) to do God knows what. Ken Penrod is a funny guy, but I don't think it's intentional...
  21. Depends on the size of the body of water, and other local factors, also this year's warming trends (I use the term loosely) have been atypical, at least near me. The best "pattern" (I don't believe there is such a thing) has been moving baits in breaks and transitions, and angry big bait bites at or near nesting sites, and jigs.
  22. Flaming Fluoro Lovers needs a T-shirt...
  23. You might need it on Wednesday...
