  1. If I'm remembering the 70s correctly, it's the grass that causes that...
  2. LOL. I found 2 "good" Terminator T2s while cleaning the garage a couple of weeks ago. Changed the blades out (cause I can't help myself) and have probably caught 50 bass and pickerel on one, including a few pigs, and it still looks good as new (other than the skirt and stick-on eyes). If you like the War Eagles (can't imagine why) you can make one from a humdinger, or better yet, leave it alone and fish it as is, barrel swivel and old school skirt and all.
  3. I haven't found that to be the case here, but I will say that a jig bite is either on or off most times, and unlike a lot of other baits, bass do think it's a crayfish, and I have seen an increase on their aggressiveness on these type of baits when the bugs are around in abundance.
  4. This^. I have actually witnessed this first hand with striped bass, and it was an eye opener. Way before 9/11, you could just walk onto the ship piers in Norfolk and fish, and I was stationed there at the time. I would walk the piers at night and look for a spot where a light was shined onto the water, which concentrated bait, which concentrated the striped bass. Once the tide started moving, you could catch as many as you wanted, with pretty much anything that approached the size/ shape of the bait de jeur. I usually went with a white bucktail jig and a piece of plastic to match the hatch. The water was fairly clear and you could clearly see the fish from the surface down 3-10 feet most nights. Most of these fish ran 4-10 lbs most times. Surprisingly, when fishing is this easy, it gets a bit boring, so I'd start just doing different things trying to entertain myself, and started just watching the fish eat and spit the lure one night, and a couple of things became really apparent, -A lot of fish inhale the bait, and nothing is felt. -The "bite" that is felt is sometimes the fish spitting out the lure, after not feeling the take. -The larger the fish to lure size ratio, the lighter the bite feels. I've seen this same thing with most fish that feed by inhaling baits, like bass, and grouper as well.
  5. Batteries connected in series can be tapped anywhere along the cells, with the corresponding voltage to be found there, in this particular case, 12v or 24 v.
  6. He came out of the widest gate on a 20 horse field, and had to deal with a bunch of traffic, including the horse that died in front of him with the jockey in the yellow helmet within sight of the line, great run for sure.
  7. Not in the real world, but all kind of crazy in TX, so maybe...
  8. Plopper, or big spook.
  9. I'm about 20 minutes south of DC (without traffic)
  10. I'll be getting wet tomorrow for sure. I probably won't be throwing a spinnerbait, I'm probably gonna throw a big swimbait. I haven't been catching many, but I'm getting a couple every time out and most are over 6, so I'll keep doing that while it holds up.
  11. LOL. I feel an on the water spanking coming on. YT and InterWeb expert $ spends so good...
  12. Yes, and a lot of folks drink Budweiser and enjoy it, doesn't make it right...
  13. X3. Can you even get a Vision 110 and a Pop Max in each color for that?...
  14. Most fish species follow conventional grammar when dealing with more than one. I often see basses when referring to more than one species in academic works. I catched lotto phishes yes turd they two. ps: pluarlize is not a word, oh the irony...
  15. I'm still fishing mine.
  16. I dunno, I would much rather fish a spinnerbait or swim jig, and most of the time any of the three will work, but there are times when a chatter just gets it done, I think it's the rod shaking thing, but It might just be in my head now.
  17. Oh yeah, it's either laying on the bottom, or slightly gliding or waving with the boat. I bend a round bend hook to be a bit like a circle hook, they sometimes double the rod over and pull drag. Works even better with bacon.
  18. Oh, yeah for sure, my wife often out fishes me by casting a weightless t-rigged trick worm on 8 lb mono in 6 to 20 feet of water, her "technique" is to put the rod in a holder and read her book and wait for me to say "you have one on" and reel it in.
  19. By a long shot, a chatterbait or any of it's clones.
  20. Nice, I'm a big fan of March and April most years.
