  1. I use them as a chatterbait/swim jig trailer. I also swim them weightless (T-rig) or with light swimbait belly weighted hook around grass and lily pads. They have really good action. I keep the T-rigged/swimbait swimsenkos and cut the front portion the fish destroy and use these for chatterbait/swim jig trailers.
  2. I have a cabelas 2 bank battery charger on my boat. I used to charge with a schumacher charger that gives the % the battery is charged. Would it damage anything if I hooked the schumacher charger to check to see if batteries are fully charged??? Thanks for the help in advance
  3. thanks Allen
  4. Hi Munkin, Can you give more detail on exactly what parts you are using? Hooks, which mold, and how do you get the blade into the round end of the hook? also, which punch are you using? I would like to start making my own "bladed" jigs. Thanks
  5. I too am a "husky" dude...i weigh around around 240 with an occasional gust to 250. I currently fish out of a native watercraft ultimate 14.5 foot propel. This kayak is 32.5 inches wide. I was wary at first, but the design is very stable...for sitting. I do not stand. I too would recommend seat time in any that you buy. I would also recommend looking at something you can "pedal" vs paddle. FOR ME, it is so nice to peddle and fish. I can go forwards and backwards and never stop fishing. Good luck with whatever you choose.
  6. What he said...good on you and very, very happy for you both.
  7. What do you guys use and recommend to clean fishing rods? Do you guys wax them with anything? Meguiars wipe on wipe off wax maybe? Will any cleaning products damage rods ...such as simple green? Thanks for the help.
  8. the only problem with that great job in Michigan is that he has to play Ohio State every year!!!!
  9. anyone have these? if so, what is your overall opinion of them?
  10. the Raiders have some really, really talented young football players. Assuming they continue to build through the draft wisely over the next few years and they could be one of the best teams in the NFL for a long time. Mack, Cooper, and Carr are just getting started. BTW, I never knew Raider was a Raider fan, thought he was one of those geeky star wars fans...either that or some weird Harrison Ford groupie!
  11. yeah, thanks. very helpful. already done that. they have a one page diagram that doesn't mention anything about the second set of wires thanks Jonathan and PapaJoe for the help/suggestions. I think I have it figured out.
  12. My new Lowrance elite 4 CHIRP fishfinder has two "arms" from the power cord...one goes to the battery. first question...what to do with the yellow wire? Second question...what is the other cord for? It has five individual wires including what looks like a ground??? This unit will be mounted on my kayak if that makes a difference. Thanks in advance.
  13. Not sure where to post this...just wanted to let everyone know about the outstanding customer service I received from Scotty...makers of rod holders, mounts, downriggers, etc. I purchased a new fishfinder for my kayak...never had either before...and purchased a transducer mounting arm from Scotty. I emailed the company as I could see no way to mount my transducer on their product. In about 10 minutes I get a phone call!!! from a very nice man named Andrew who helped me figure everything out. Turns out I am an idiot and did not see the additional mounting hardware that came with the fishfinder...but that is ok since I can use the two products together. Thanks to Andrew at Scotty for all the help!

  14. I too like the MLF format, and especially enjoy the "lessons learned" part of the programming. One lesson is to downsize my lures...starting this weekend!
  15. Not just florida...I have seen several and was just shocked at the size...or lack thereof...of the baits most were using. Makes me wonder if the lures I am throwing up here in Ohio are too big?
  16. Nearly all baits were small...jigs, chatterbaits, swimbaits, etc.
  17. have you folks noticed how small most of the lures used by nearly all of the pros are? Evers stated he was using lures that were 2 inches or smaller? What gives? I thought big lures caught big bass? Even Hackney was throwing a swim jig with the skirt trimmed way short and he bit off two segments of the rage craw for a smaller profile. I would appreciate any thoughts, ideas, and responses. Do you guys use smaller size lures for the most part?
  18. I throw a couple different buzzbaits. I like the cavitron 3/8 ounce black with black blade or white with silver or gold blade. I also throw a black on black or white on silver booyah clacker buzzbait. I put a black with chartreuse legs horny toad or a plain white horny toad on all of them.
  19. Raider, you sure have a unique outlook... makes me laugh. Thanks for that and for being such a good sport.
  20. I think the orange cap is so you...you in particular...don't get shot. I have heard you may resemble a rough and tumble kind of dude that the police may NOT want to tangle with. Can't remember who may have given that impression???? Oh yeah...YOU!
  21. Thanks for the replies everyone.
  22. I know many people use the palomar knot for fishing hollow belly frogs. I was wondering if a loop knot like the rapala knot might make it easier to "walk" the frog? Ideas, suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  23. Couldn't have said it better. Condolences.
  24. Same here...sometimes also use 17 lb Big Game.
