  1. This...x2
  2. I have a 6'9" heavy endurance..not sure the model #...got it for 99.00 bucks at ***....fantastic rod.
  3. I can easily cast 70 yards, into a strong head-wind, with my left hand, and my right hand tied behind my back. Send me 10.00 to my paypal account and I will share my casting distance "secret" with you.
  4. We have replaced the plastic water bottles with a brita water pitcher and we use re-usable water bottles.
  5. WooHoo! Fantastic news for both your mother and you and your family. My sister is cancer free after beating breast cancer nearly ten years ago. Celebrate, have fun, catch fish, and cherish the time with your mother and family. Sounds like the perfect vacation to me.
  6. I use the same for flourocarbon and mono lines.
  7. As a lifelong cowboy fan, I have been resisting the urge to add to this post, only because it adds to the misery of being a cowboy fan. Jerry wants CREDIT, yet lacks the talent as a gm/ player evaluator to build a team. Look around at the best teams, and the up and coming teams, ALL, EVERY ONE of them has a common trait...they spend little, very little in free agency, and draft well to extremely well. Dallas, well, uh, they can not draft if their life depends on it. They then compound that with adding free agents that marginally, if at all, improve the team. They are constantly spending tomorrow's money today on players that are no longer productive, or even obviously in decline. For an example, look at the 49ers. DRAFT picks on the offensive and defensive lines, and high ones at that. Seattle, mostly the same, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Atlanta mostly the same. Football is still a game won and lost in the trenches. Let's look at Dallas O line and D line....um, never mind. I am starting to get a headache. EVERY other team in the league has learned that the draft is, without a doubt, the best and most cost effective way to build a team. Jerry believes....arrogantly...that he and his scouts can find players that are undrafted free agents to fill holes. This is successful about once per team every ten years or so. Dallas had 12, yes, 12 draft picks in the 2009 draft. NONE if which are still with the team. NOT ONE PLAYER. Everybody else can see it but Jerry.
  8. Sad to say, but sounds like you need to involve an attorney, if you have not already. I had an issue regarding an accident that happened about 12 years ago, Insurance company pulled the same crap it sounds like you are doing. I asked for roughly 7 grand to cover damage to my vehicle, and pay my medical bills. Had to file suit, company paid over 35 grand to settle a 7 thousand dollar claim....NOT including their costs. Hated to do it, Really hated to do it because in the end, my attorney and their attorney made a bunch of money, I got some, and all of our insurance rates suffer because of it. As per A-Jay's comment above, my company actually gave me the highest dollar amount they could for my vehicle...about 1800 bucks above NADA because it was in impeccable shape....their words. They did this because the folks at the other insurance company were so unbelievably rude.
  9. I too use Mike at Delaware Valley Tackle. He does outstanding work, and is a sponsor here. Besides supporting the entire forums here, he also freely helps those who have questions regarding reels and rods.
  10. I use and like the Cabelas store brand flourocarbon. I can get 600 yards of 10 lb for 27 bucks....6 or 8 lb is 25 bucks for 600 yards. I do believe the cabelas brand is manufactured for them by Seagar. Might be a less expensive alternative for some folks. FYI, 12 lb and heavier has a price jump to 37 bucks for 600 yards.
  11. to the OP, I suggest the Gander Mountain brand of "senko" worm. I use them often, and they go on sale for 3 packs for ten bucks often. The key is that the packs have 15 worms rather than 10.
  12. I also think it works, and works very well.
  13. Very nice post. I couldn't agree more.
  14. Yes sir, They sure do. I agree with this As I am typing this reply from the warmth and comfort from my "Sears" house.
  15. As the title states, Gander Mountain...at least here in Canton, Ohio ...have suffix 832 braid buy one, get the second one 50% off. Just a heads up for anyone who may be thinking about trying this line.
  16. Prayers sent as well. Please give us an update when able.
  17. Jig, drop shot, shaky head to name a few presentations that I need to work on.
  18. Ok, thanks for replies. I guess I was hoping to have discovered a "secret" lure.
  19. Confidence bait = Senko...specifically gander mountain watermelon purple 5 inch worm Preferred to throw = spinnerbait or lake fork live magic shad 3.5 inch on 1/4 ounce ball jighead
  20. It looked like black metal. I suppose it could have been a rod guide, but it sure looked like a metal cup. I checked out the wigglefins and also the hookup baits nose job...it looked more like those...but it appeared to me to be metal. Thanks for all the replies.
  21. Thanks for doing the legwork...so to speak.
  22. I know there a couple threads regardng the new Lews BB1 reel in the 5.1:1 gear ratio. What I don't know is what is the difference? I can guess that instant anti reverse does not allow the crank handle to "go backwards"..., but what happens on the lews reel then....does it allow the handle to go "in reverse"?
  23. I don't do the facebook thing, but noticed on his website that Todd Faircloth is on facebook. Maybe one of you guys who has a facebook account can ask him? Just a thought. I was going to email him, but no contact information is given.
  24. Very good line, IMO. the #10 breaks at 16.5 lbs and the 12 breaks at over 19 lbs....according to yo-zuri's chart. I really like the ultrasoft #6 on spinning gear (Breaks at 11.9 lbs.) and the regular #10 or #12 on baitcasting gear. I find that , at least for me, I have less backlashes on baitcasting gear with the origiinal yo-zuri.
