I got ya, I have 2 Rick Clunns and an Extreme combo also, I like to tighten up the first brake to where the lure doesnt fall. Then I loosen up the brake til the lure first starts to fall fast. Then I set the other brake on the side to about 7 for 1/2 ounce lures. I use the higher brake to keep the spool in check while the lure has more pull from the free spinning spool. I can cast quite a distance longer than the with the suggested settings.

I tried heavy and light spiderwire, it's too waxy imo, always dug into the spool with heavy lures or strong casts. Power Pro on the other hand is a gift from the man upstairs, I love it and will fish no other braid, compact like tiny rope, strong as can be and casts forever. Power Pro all day long...

make sure to spool the line correctly if you are using a spinner, counterclockwise off of the spool, and trolling will smooth out any twist, let the line sit out for a few minutes while trolling without a lure on, just line

What about the idea of using scent for a more convincing bite, after they go for it, just like a burger, wouldnt they smell the scent more intensely when the worm is close to their mouth, maybe they would hold on longer once they decided to hit it...

looks like they would be nice weightless, kinda like a frog's legs kicking on the surface, floaters would be cool like those snakes mentioned above

It should be fine, I have the black and orange one, I swim it real slow and cast way past my targets, it splahes just a little...

I use em as trailer jigs at times when I need a larger presentation, when I swim em i get the same nibble effect
