  1. As far as rods, already have a St. Croix Mojo 7'. I am considering staying with this lineup. Now, looking for a 7'2" to 7'6" flipping/pitching rod. Are the American Rodsmith Wreckin' sticks or Kistler Magnesium TS's any better quality? Also what reel would work best? Looking at Curado, Okuma Serrano, or any other baitcaster around that $180-200 range.
  2. Are Oakleys straight jacket and monster dog lenses made from plastic or glass? Is Oakley or Costa del Mar more scratch resistant?
  3. Are grey lenses less susceptible to peeling of lamination or polarization off glasses than green or blue? Are grey lenses more durable?
  4. Yea, I bought a pair of cheap glasses with yellow lenses a few months ago and they're not good for the eyes during bright conditions. Should I get dark blue or light blue/green lenses? Will the green mirror costas or shallow blue oakleys protect my eyes in bright sun yet still be able to see in overcast conditions?
  5. I live 50 miles southwest of Tuscaloosa near Demopolis. Is there a major difference between the 400 and 580 lenses?
  6. I know that there are about a million posts on this already but I have narrowed it down to 3 different sunglasses. Costa Del Mar Man-O-War green mirror, Oakley Straight Jacket shallow blue, or Wiley X P-17 green mirror are probably going to be my best options for shallow water fishing. For the CDM should I get CR-39, 400, or 580? I'd also like to here about the Oakley or Wiley X. If anyone has tried all three and can compare them, that would be great.
  7. Should I buy XPS Fisherman's Eyewear Limit Polarized Glasses, or expensive Costas, Oakleys, Wiley X etc.? Does the price point make a difference in vision, or is it all about the brand name?
  8. Anybody tried this yet? If so, what is your opinion?
  9. TackleTour will probably have the details soon. Thanks for the pics.
  10. Thanks Triton_Mike. The only pic I have seen so far is the Kelly J. It has only one prop in the front. The Bull does look like a promising bait. Any idea if there is going to be different weights than 2 oz.?
  11. I've only seen 1 picture of a Lucky Craft lure at ICAST. Any more?
  12. I am 15 and I believe that teens should be sponsored in fishing. I currently have a 4.0 GPA as a freshmen in advanced honor courses. My explanation is that it can help not only the angler, but the company that sponsors them. For kids it gives them valuable real-world business skills that can help them in not only angling, but for any type of marketing. So free tackle is like an incentive to maintain good grades so you can attend a college. What does the company get out of this? Young adults are the future consumers of their products. I also think some teens could give informative opinions on the quality of prototype tackle to make products even better. I have not asked for sponsorship yet because I don't think anybody should ask a million companies to sponsor them. Being sponsored is like a business agreement. You should always give a 100%.
  13. I recently bought some invizx. Haven't tried it out yet ,but does it have good abrasion resistance and sensitivity? That's about all I need from fluoro. Are there any lines better for this?
  14. Are there any jobs where I could invent new rods, reel, baits, etc. for tackle companies?
  15. I got a spinnerbait rod for Christmas. Are they any good?
  16. Is this a good deal for $250? What are its advantages and disadvantages?
  17. The Vanish had nicks in the line after the first few times I threw it. I don't need to respool the line after every fishing trip. So the more $ I spend the more durable the line is?
  18. I tried some Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon earlier in the year. The line snaps a few feet from the hook every time I have a fish. Has anybody found a fluoro that doesn't do this? Is Gamma a good choice?
  19. It is the most versatile line I have ever used. You can tie any bait on and it works great. I can't wait to try their $30 fluoro. (it will be worh the $)
  20. I tried Vanish fluoro early in the year and found that it was invisible, had low memory, and was more sensitive than mono. The only problem I had was when I set the hook on a texas-rigged shaky head worm that the hook would not come out of the bait. When I tried setting the hook on mono with the same lure the hookup ratio was a lot greater. Has anyone else had this problem? Are there any other fluorocarbons that can work better when setting the hook?
  21. I bought a few of these baits recently. How do you like to rig this bait? Also, do any of you dropshot in murky water? Can I dropshot with a baitcast reel easily if I have a 1/4 ounce or higher weight?
  22. What is classified as a deep crankbait? To me it is probably any running depth over 7 feet.
  23. Thanks, Sam. Nick Saban is going to be the next head coach at WVU for 4 trillion dollars a year and he is taking his top 3 recruiting class with him. ;D
  24. Will an adjustable breaking system allow me to throw lighter baits further and cast baits into the wind better?
  25. If I get a reel with a high speed I want to already have some baits that work well. What are some baits (brand, model, etc.) that I should use to catch bass in murky water with this reel?
