  1. When you feel the algae and other gunk get on your jig (and do it in the middle of your retrieve even if you do not feel any gunk because chances are there is something on it) quickly pop the rod tip up hard a few times, trying to shake or pop the junk of your bait, cleaning it. You can do this so the jig moves only a few feet, staying in the water and in the strike zone, braid works the best for this technique. Also you can use a lighter jig, a swimming retrieve, and using a bigger trailer like a double wide beaver and full sized brushhog, to reduce the rate fall, doubling up on jig skirts also accomplishes this.
  2. Any spro or snag proof frog is good, River2sea bully wa and spitting wa are pretty nice, and the transporter baits frog is good too, The popping spro frog always has gotten me the most bites. The spro king daddy frog usually gets me bigger fish. The bobbys perfect buzz frog has delivered the most explosive bites.
  3. Oh that sounds like a fine idea to me, I assumed you were using it for a single hook technique. I would go with the quantum pt rod since it is a more limber rod. That inshore rod will be a meat stick, don't know if you would want to crank with it.
  4. What would you be using it for? The quantum rod is a medium action so I would think it would be very whippy. But the inshore rod is a good bet. Inshore rods are usually under rated and have a heavier power than labeled. I would suggest the Shimano Clarus 7ft Heavy extra fast spinning rod. I have thrown baits up to two ounces on here. Not practical and I would use a baitcaster with baits 3/8 ounce or heavier. But the decision is up to you.
  5. A 6'10'' MH-Heavy action would work well. It would make for a good spinnerbait and frog rod. That is a very good all purpose rod.
  6. That is a sick boat!!!!!! Congratulations bud!!!!! Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!!!!
  7. You'll never be heard from again, and not to mention LAN parties. Those will eat up 12 hours of your life quick
  8. One slice? If I start eating this I don't stop until a few pounds of it are gone. ;D Of course me and my family on LI call it Super sod 8-)
  9. In-fisherman. I like learning about fish .
  10. Yeah I didn't notice it on my Curado e7 until I heard about it and started looking for it. It is a big problem and I have returned the reel : :
  11. Uh, yes it is. http://www.***.com/descpageSFWBERKLEY-BPW10.html# Hmmm, I don't recall anyone ever claiming the Power Worm to be the best ever. Don't be hatin' on Power Worms Burleyman :-? Power worms are garbage. Oh and that fish being caught on a power worm just means she was a loose girl :-X ;D
  12. The best _____ever"..... I have heard that A LOT. Here are some examples Beta Max, Laser Disc, XFL etc. ;D
  13. Pounding one or two lakes on multiple trips(even better if it is everyday), especially in spring. If you do this you can catch big bass with a 4 inch worm. Persistence and patience are good techniques. More than once I have sat on a shallow spawning area for 3-4 days during spring catching buck bass. Only to have a few girls move up ;D
  14. I don't spinning gear is the right choice for heavy line techniques such as this but...... When I first bought a 7ft Heavy Clarus spinning rod I tried chucking a Mattlures Ultimate blue gill. Using 65lb test braid and a Quantum Energy Pti 40 model, it handled the bait fine. Yet it is unpractical for me because I like using baitcasting gear much better.
  15. ;D ;D CLASSIC Movie. I bought it on tape ahile back I love when Eddie is drinking a cheap beer and smoking a cigar in the morning while emptying his chemical toilet in the storm drain!!! For me it's tied with Scrooged (Bill Murray) as the best Christmas Movie.
  16. Nice Fish! Like that hat too, I have one just like it
  17. I think they made a mistake and put a picture of the Premier instead of the Revo S.
  18. Manufacturing & raw material cost increase. Thanks. I don't get it though, are Daiwa's costs more than any other company? Are other companies going to follow suit and raise their prices :-/
  19. I guess I am not getting another zillion reel > I wonder why they are doing that :-?
  20. Manns Stone jig. http://www.***.com/descpageJIGMANN-MSJ.html And my favorite jig Revenge. It is a foot ball head but has weights up to 1 ounce along with 1/2, recessed line tie, under 3 bucks and has a very heavy wire hook. http://www.***.com/descpageJIGREVENGE-RFBJ.html
  21. Gamma line is really expensive and I think he was saying that it should not be doing as well as it is. And he cites a great pro staff for making it a big success. I used to fish Gamma line a lot but here is just another reason to not buy it. So many other lines are similar quality if not better for less money.
  22. 10+ inch ribbontail worm 6-7 inch senko soft plastic frog Zoom trickworm
  23. "How cool would you look if you showed up with two friends that ate all the appetizers?" Fry, Futurama I guess that doesn't apply here! That is disgusting, I love shrimp but I would really have to think about eating food that has been subjected to that behavior!
  24. I feel like designing a product and giving it Slo-Roll just to see what shape the product is in when I get it back ;D
  25. i fish it on 65lb. love that jig paul! Oh my mistake thats a typo I have tried to fish it on 80 and I know it does not fit that. Why are you using 65lb braid, you been fishing for trout? ;D
