  1. thats what started this whole thing i pay more for the american made rods so i jut wanted to have american made hats and shirts
  2. no none of those rods were made in china. their hat and stuff are not UsA.i sold them because the president of st. croix jumped all over me for saying i should buy china if i'm buying chinese hats.i sold all of them the rods now i use loomis.
  3. yes i knew that but if you ask for american made hats and shirts stuff like that they don't have it. the president at st. croix told me that he could not find any of that stuff that fishermen would buy and wear. like i said he really blasted me .
  4. went to bass pro in springfield and looked at cabelas catalog and other stores.its all the same . everything is made in china.fenwick, cabales and bass pro want to sell there brand rods for 180.00 that are made in china. all of bass pro and cabelas house branded rods are made in china.lures tons of them are made in china. fishing line all made in china. they seem cheap but the price isn't.did kevin vandam go to china to tell them how he wanted his rods made? i have a nitro team fishing shirt signed by kevin and rick clunn but i don't know where it is made.i wrote to st. croix since i owned about 25 of their rods and bought some hats and shirts all not made in the USA.the president blasted me because if he was going to sell me china, i just buy china well he really ley me have it about buying american made rods supporting the american worker. I am an american worker. now i own 0 st croix rods and won't buy any. so what do you fine americans think? thanks david jones
  5. i have the saros 1000 on a imx 6'6" ultra light and its a very nice set-up. the 1000 size is a 750 body with the 1000 size spool. but i don't know anything about the bigger ones. other than playing with them at bass pro on springfield mo.
  6. i have heard for several years that bass pro shops ,pfuleger , pinnacle brand, shakespear, banax and cabelas house brand reels are made by the same company okuma.i know daiwa makes some of cabelas reels . i don't realy know if this is true .i do know some old bass pro qualifier spinning reel spools fit okuma reels.i was wondering if that is true.i to got the flyer but pitched mine.
  7. thank you for helping me decide to upgrade my reels
  8. The ABEC designation isn't a bearing make, it is a bearing rating ie: ABEC3, ABEC5, ABEC7 etc. Doing it yourself, isn't hard as long as you have the tools to remove the spool engagement pin without bending the spool shaft, $45.00 and up for spools. It would be best if it is done by a qualified reel tech. Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!! thanks for your advice and i'll be doing some upgradeing this winter
  9. i have seen many ads with the reels upgraded. new abec bearings and wonderinging if it is worth the extra cost and hard to do myself? i would like to change a couple of bushings in a calcutta 50 and a citica 100. in the calcutta there is a bushing on the shaft #bnt1817 and the citica #3756 is there a bearing conversion for these. bearings would be better than bushings? ceramic balls better than steel ? thanks for any help you could give me. acts:4:12
