  1. Yea I agree about the Diawa. A lot of guys use the Okumas out here because of the price and are a far better product. Check out this link http://www.calfishing.com/reviews/rods.html I use an Abu and a Quantum PT Swimbait special
  2. Just moved back here. Finally got my gear shipped. Ready to Tx fish again. Any local clubs for Los Angeles?
  3. vMy dad used BPS for years. That was when they weren't to big. Now they are obviously they are huge. Bait and switch, happend to me a couple of weeks ago with their BPS Extreme rods. 3 different prices. I ordered some of their stick worms last year but the worms were cracked and old. I complained and told them to check the product when I sent it back to them they said "keep them" we will send you new ones. Well I get the "new" ones same problem. I complain so they give me a credit that expires in 6 months unknown to me. The new location in Califonia is really cool but their products are the primary inventory. The rod selection is terrible. I think I have more rods. I also dont understand how the employees get a 40 percent discount on BPS products but their sales price for their products are obviously a rip off now. Oh well. I will ONLY use ***. Their products are more fitting for me in California and their shipping is the best.
  4. Tungsten is all I use. I like the profile and the sound factor.
  5. Yea if you got the pool you can tune crankbaits and watch fall rates. Check the action of plastics.
  6. WaterMelon Red Flake is my go to color, then June Bug
  7. That's what I am trying to say. The "Select" is a model before the Instinct.
  8. ABSOLUTELY NOT A SHAKSPHERE ROD. THAT IS THE ALL STAR INSTINCT ROD GB, ABSOLUETLY 100% sure That is their new entry level rod PS NOT MADE IN USA LIKE THE OTHER ALLSTARS First off why are you YELLING? Second it clearly states in the Craigslist ad the rod is an All Star Select. Unfortunatley that is a Shakespeare rod with All Star stickers. I had the identical combo, purchased in Jax Florida. Call Dicks and ask them about the rod.
  9. That combo is from Dicks. I bought that identical combo when I was in Florida. I took it out once and returned it the next day. The rod is Shakespeare with All Star stickers, I know Shakespeare owns All Star and Phlueger. Anyways the reel is a piece of crap. You could do so much better then that. The reel looks trick and all but it really does suck. Those of you that have or had that reel and like it maybe I got a bad one but 140 is WAY to high for that. Good luck
  10. Wow, has Power Pro changed their process. My line would turn white after 100 outings but it took awhile. Never had green spool or cork. Ifished it in the St John river and the intercoastal. Something must have changed because these are problems that I never had.
  11. Well I don't know about your test but it's what I would have done. I don't think I have had those kinds of issues and I fished it as my primary line for 2 years. So I think you could be right and it was a bad batch. Will they refund?
  12. My 7 foot G Blank spinning rod. Hey Low Budget your rod is on Ebay right now it was at 180 a couple of days ago. I didn't know Shimano made split grips that long ago. I'm not calling you old, well sorda ;D
  13. Welcome
