  1. Sorry! It's located in Chesapeake, VA. The canal has been there since 1986. ;D The username I've had for years on Xbox Live, and just use it for everything else as well.
  2. Hey everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know about how my first saltwater fishing experience went. I just started fishing about 2 weeks ago, and this was my first time doing anything saltwater. My brother in law took to me Va Beach, and he said we were gonna fish for Spot. We set up shop, and within 10 minutes I had a bite. Within 2 hours I caught 6 Spots, and he caught one ;D They were average size I guess, about 3 or 4 a little over a pound and two fish over 2 pounds, one almost 3 pounds. I had a great time standing on the beach with my feet in the water and just reeling them in. It turned out to be a good start for a rookie like myself, and I had a blast! Can't wait to go again.
  3. Hey everyone! First let me start off by saying Hello to all the forum members!! I just started fishing a couple of weeks ago (I'm 25). While at a private pond in South Hill, Virginia I had my first taste of Bass fishing, now I'm hooked. I didn't even catch anything, I just watched a couple other people fish, and when I got home went out and got a pole, now it's all I think about. Anyway.....back in the city we got these large man made canals/ponds that our community surrounds. It's about a mile and a half long, and about 40-50 yards wide. Trees and bushes line the banks. The water is really clear, and it looks like a sand bottom. There is a lot of turtles and really small 'bait' fish swimming around. My question is you think there may be some Bass in there?? While standing on this little walking bridge it has I noticed this huge fish go swimming under it, and was told it was a cat fish. So far I've spent only an hour out there with a yelllow spinner bait, and had a couple of plops near it, but nothing. Sorry for all the newbie questions, but I'm really excited about my new hobby. 8-)
