It has been a great week for hockey. That was a great game and so was the Bruins/Habs game on Thursday night. The NHL playoffs should be great if you're a Bruins fan. 8-)

The cold nights are killing my shallow water jig bite. They wont move up shallow until mid-afternoon. But when we have clouds or rain during the night they just stay super shallow (2 feet or less).

I would go with a 7' mh fast action for buzz baits and frogs. But if you are fishing the heavy stuff I would go even stronger. For spooks I would go with a 7' m fast. For poppers I use a 6'6" m fast.

LOL please explain why the Carrot is only good for cranking...have you not heard of or seen the 6'9 or 7'3 MH, or the 7'9 XH? They have several other MH and H actions as well that I use for jigs and frogging. And Carrots have the best warranty out of the three, a lifetime over the counter no questions asked warranty... :

Yes occupation cannot predict suicide and there is no proof of a cause and effect relationship but there is a correlation/relationship. The other thing I would say is that that article is 8 years old. Don't know about you but we cannot use sources for science papers that are older than three years old because of how fast things change. Just what my professor said, I will ask him in my class tomorrow about where he got the info from.

No, we have old ones that they don't use anymore, most of which are private. (don't know if they are no longer fertile or what) They just stop using them X amount of years ago, the owners stocked them, and now have big fish. I think most were originally intended to hold water to flood others.

I forgot about the cranberry bogs in western RI and Cape Cod that are no deeper than 5', get ice, and put out 6-8 pound fish. A northern strain bass that is latharlgic for 4-5 months a year and hits that 5+ pound mark must be old (not sure exactly), nevermind how old a 8-9 pound fish may be. And some years we can have hot summers where the water hits the low-mid 80's in the summer and water levels can drop a foot or two and then a winter with the same water level and ice. Yet the fish can live for 10 years. So they must be able to adapt to different conditions. I would not expect one of these fish to be able to be taken out of it's environment and be able to live in crystal clear rocky water and sustain its weight and live for a good amount of time if this is done when the fish is say 4 years old. And visa versa. But raised in the environment it will. So if Hannon had started with frye and raised them in four feet of water, they could be fine.

No there is. Just covered suicide in my Advance Abnormal Psych class last week. They use to be number one on the list and are now number four on professions with the highest rates of suicide.

I would like to see someone other than Hannon replicate the study. It made me think that we have one large lake in RI that it a large puddle with one small 5' wide feeder stream, doesn't get deeper than 6' 95% of the year and by June/July the water temps can hit the mid 80's and there have been 9's and 3 10 pound plus fish taken from it on record. Plus in winter there can be 2-3 feet of ice on it.(Our state record is only 10-6 so they like to document the dd's up here) The fish will adapt and there are always exceptions to the rule imo.

Who did Tampa dump, I couldn't find anything about it? The best player they ever had if he could stay healthy...Baldelli. (RI biased). ;D No but they were a fluke and the first series of the year they will have with the Sox will prove it. They just had a bunch of guys with career years. Hey FishinDaddy, if Tampa wins the AL East, I will wear a Rays hat all of October. If they don't you wear a Sox hat...deal?

This is what FAFSA is for. It shows schools what you need and such for money and it works. It will save my sister and I about 30k next year alone. The other big thing is that people are forgetting the community colleges and public schools and trying to go to private schools that cost 35k a year to be a teacher or to get a liberal arts degree. The key is to be young and just semi-successful in high school and know about financial aid stuff before you get started.

Sadly, the less money you have, the easier it is to go to school. Money will never be a factor. There are plenty of organizations and scholarships that will give you money. I also add that it isn't necessary to go to a private school. If you are trying to save money go to a community college first. Thanks for summing up my paragraph in a line.. ;D
