  1. Flats/humps in 8-15' with soft gravel or a beach sand like bottom composition is the first thing I look for. Second would be shallow flats 5-10' with a soft bottom with rocks mixed in about the size of softballs or so. Don't ask me why, but bigger smallies always seem to have rocks like this in their beds.. 3rd, run around the shallows <5' with the trolling motor on high around docks and such that have that same softer bottom and note where you see them spook from. Then go back 5 minutes later and make casts. (The ultimate way to search for bedding fish and not waste time imo).
  2. A doctor who prescribes valium with little or no hesitation? I watched Caddyshack last night and I can't get it out of my head. Along with visions of Rodney dancing...
  3. Just spend the extra money and buy the Tru-Tungsten weights with the flexable little screw. I have fallen in love with them.
  4. I like the Beaver weightless. I just really loosen my brakes and flip it anywhere I would a jig. I usually go with it after I know an area has seen a lot of jigs during a tournament.
  5. Was looking at the pics and WOW, never realized the smallies they had down there. Is it common to find them with that sort of size?
  6. 10 years too late....
  7. The Only Gay Eskimo reminds me of Burley for some reason...
  8. Want some cranberry juice?
  9. WOW, it's offical. Fishing sucks in Massachusetts as well as Rhode Island.. ;D And the average fish in Webster is 1.7 pounds??? I would have figured it was about .7 pounds.
  10. That is the best one I have heard yet. lol "He's a good ambassador for mental health." .... :-X I will be making a call to the Mental Health Center of Madison County....
  11. This is common with the Spot Remover. The peg or screw will pop out of the worm on a hard hookset causing the worm to bunch up around the point of the hook. So now you are going through the worm twice and the fishes jaw. And with 6 pound line you cant set it hard enough to do it without breaking the line imo. What has really helped my hookups is just simply applying pressure when the fish has it and reeling up quickly. I believe the worm stretches more and doesn't come off the peg or screw. So as it stretches the hook pops out and will stick. It has been working for me anyway. I use a 6'7" Medium action spinning Carrot with 8 pound Seaguar Invisx or Trilene 100% most of the time.
  12. Same thing here. When I won the Weekend Series on Champlain the guys main smallie spot was out so we just started jumping point to point and my best 5 smallies that day were about 21+. Between the two of us our best 10 went a little over 40 pounds. Nothing like culling 4+ smallies.
  13. I would Minor in Psych or Sociology then if you want to go into law/criminal justice.
  14. Don't bet on it. x2 The education will be better for the most part, you will get the occasional prof who is "burnt". But there will be plenty of people screwing around because mommy and daddy have the money and will pay for whatever when they mess up. College is not what you think. And someone of your intelligence will figure it out quick. A lot of it is still a joke and it is a business more than anything.
  15. To paraphrase Big O: If you're doing well with a presentation, you can do even better with that same lure in the right color. You missed it... :
  16. Put this thread out of it's misery.... :-X (One of the best baits to ever come out imo)
  17. Buddy and I finished second on Saturday in a T. With the exception of our big fish all of the others (20-25 with about 10 being keepers) came out of pockets on the main lake. They just had to be tucked off the main lake with about 2-4' of water. We pulled fish out of all 5 that we fished and the ones that had the wind pushing in we could make 8 casts and catch 6 fish so they were really stacked up. In these pockets on the southern end of the lake the water was 51-53 starting the day and the ones in the northern end were 49-51 (figure that out :-?). But the cold 37* degree rain dropped the water 2-3 degrees by the end of the day. Also by looking at the weather for the next week we have a typical warming trend but the cold mornings will keep the bite mostly in the afternoon imo. Where as when we have cloud cover at night or rain the fish will bite throughout the day.
  18. They are shallow already unlike last year and there is still another month until the next full moon so who knows.
  19. Except TW... ;D
  20. About time.... ;D
  21. The feeling of thinking you had the best day and the biggest bag is worse than loosing the winning fish at the boat imo.
  22. What ever happened to "Color doesn't matter"? :-/ :-?
