You never want to cast overhead because when the rod is straight up there is no tension on the lure and momentum moving the spool forward thus creating a backlash. Sometimes the cast will get the backlash out, sometimes it won't.

If this is true or urban legend but my bio professor had one of the better stories I have heard in a while. A couple years ago a few guys in his class were getting into Oxycontin and wanted to start dealing it because of the money they would make and for the high. As they were in the holding cell with numerous other criminals the drugs began to kick in. Well they ended up taking Oxytocin and not Oxycontin. Oxytocin is released and given to mothers in the third trimester of pregnancy and brings out the "guardian and nurturing" side of the mother as well as help the breast-milk drop down. So they had to be removed from the holding cell with the other inmates after they were found all cuddling together and feeling their nipples. ;D

Sorry, I should have been clearer. So I would only pay as much as it costs the company, like how most good sponsorships work. And by paying for all of it, I mean the company doesn't make money off you, it just covers the cost of the product so no one is loosing or making money.

Their drop-shot hooks are the best finesse hooks on the market. But their EWG's and Superline's just cannot be used with braid from my experiences. They just cannot compare to Owner.

When you are putting out or paying more than you are getting in return (ie. Secret Weapon over-priced spinnerbaits) it is not a sponsorship. It is companies masking it up by saying they are levels of "staff", and just taking advantage of upcoming and young anglers who want to make a name for themselves. In the long run might you make get more than what you put out? Maybe, but not likely in my opinion. I have and have had deals that allow me to pay cost for products such as rods, trolling motors, and sunglasses. Sponsorship deals that knock a quarter off a $3 jig is exactly that, a deal or sale. Merriam-Webster is defining something a sponsorship exactly correct. "that pays for or plans and carries out a project or activity." It never says part of or a small fraction of, it says pays for, thus meaning all of or cost.

Ok, so if you read the first post in this string it was asking for recommendations on what would be a good alternative. This is much like Congress fighting with each other, neither side actually coming up with a viable alternative. Or are you here just to complain? On another string roadwarrior had mentioned that he likes the cavitron buzzbaits made by the same company. I went to the website, looked at the buzzbaits, and they advertised them as the slowest and fastest planing buzzbaits around. I ordered one, and to be honest my Strike King Tri-wing buzzbaits are slower and plane faster. I'm not saying the company makes a bad product, but I know buzzbaits, and I have to say that I personally disagree with Roadwarrior's recommendations for the buzzbait. What's different here is that I really don't know jigging at all. So, where he has a point, I would like to see a more objective recommendation (I say objective because it is obvious that since Roadwarrior is an administrator, and Bobby is an advertisor, then there is a little bit of a conflict of motivations there. All due respect to both Bobby and Roadwarrior I mean no disrespect whatsoever). Terminator Pro Top Secret Jig, you will never look back. Neither has anyone else who has given them a try. And truthfully, if you spend $30 on jigs and they were crap you would want to complain. I appluad Bobby for sending me replacments and assuring me they were different but the hooks were still awful. These things are supposed to be heavy cover jigs yet you can't use them with braid and catch big fish? Am I the only one that does not make sense to? So would you trust them knowing that if you were to have a state record on you will probably loose it because of a garbage hook? I do love them around light cover and docks with 12-15 pound flouro though. You're the Jim Jones of Bassresource. ;D

Secret Weapon lures is a way for people to say they have sponsors and for them to sell more baits. You basically buy your sponsorship level. : A crock of ____ in my opinion. Most people get 15 to 20% off rods and baits and thing they have sponsors, and truthfully, that is nothing but a sale.

Between the Mauer double that was "foul" and that double play where they said he never touched the bag would you expect the ump's or MLB to do anything? Depsite the fact that I'am a Sox fan I will say they best and most talented team in Major League Baseball, but the ump's are making their World Series run even easier.
