  1. That is the site I checked out before I started at the gym. I take in about 3000 calories a day and take in about 100g of protein a day via supplements. Between the lifting and Crohn's diet I pretty much live off chicken, white rice, bananas, peanut butter, and 10 calorie Vitamin water. In the past couple months I have packed on some pounds and have really gone up in weights, specifically my arms. The cardio is the worst part imo.
  2. Good for them....your point is?
  3. Ya, and in a few weeks it will be a "tragic" accident when he gets killed and causes a large pile-up. :
  4. I have one and like it but there are better rods in that price range. Go with an Airrus Co-Matrix or go find a used Powell or Carrot.

Go fish. I remember a Bassmaster event on Lake Norman in 2005 where it was snowing the first day and guys whacked them (for Lake Norman anyway). Rick Clunn gave an interview saying the snow makes the fish go nuts and whenever he can fish in the snow he will.
  6. An even better rig imo is taking a Sppok's back hooks off and tying a 18" fluorocarbon leader to a 4/0 weighted hook with a fluke on it to the split rig. Ultimate smallie rig and the spook acts like bobber and tool to call up the fish.
  7. I was thinking about a bed of nails but sandpaper will do. Exactly 3.98
  8. Unless someone else is with me and is the photo-taking type. I generally won't take a picture of a fish if it is under 6. So I can understand it, maybe they don't take pics unless it is over 10.
  9. 75% of my fishing from May until July.
  10. Never in my life would I have expected to see a Pickerel eating thread.
  11. You're right, I just read somewhere it was down to a 3 year but the majority of sites say lifetime, and if you break it and it is your fault I guess it is $40 and a new rod. Is this correct? Yeah, but some dealers will do it over the counter for you. I doubt you are gonna find that on the east coast. I just had a 734C replaced that i broke trying to yank a Bobby's out of the tree above me ;D You're 7' tall. Jump and use your wingspan. (you must suck at casting, stick to the open water swimbaits )
  12. I just meant that the prespawn and spawn times were so short. On the bigger lakes of New York that time can go from ice out until mid July so it is longer. Where as the smaller lakes and farther north you go seem to have shorter windows. I know of lakes in New Hampshire that don't open up until April and early May smallies are on beds. The prespawn is just my favorite time to fish and wish it was longer.
  13. Funny we have the exact opposite problem Rolo. Up here if we are lucky the ice is off by mid-March at the earliest and the fish are done spawning by Memorial Day Weekend at the latest. So we are lucky to get 2 months of pre-spawn fishing. And the lakes are typically so small, 80% of the spawning is done in the course of 2-3 days/nights.

  15. After the Loomis Warranty thread a few weeks ago it kind of scared me off from them. Now this morning I'm checking out more new Airrus rods and as of July 2009 all there rods only come with a 3 year warranty against the typical material and workmanship defects where as it used to be lifetime. I guess it is just Cumara's and Carrot's for me from now on. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Powell used to be lifetime as well. :-?
  16. My biggest pike always come when I'm bass fishing. It seems like fast moving reaction baits are what they love. We have one lake that is 1000 acres and is a big puddle, the deepest it gets is about 7' and it is all reeds and lily pads. Those things love frogs and buzzbaits. I have caught a few around 10 pounds out of there and every tourney someone is bound to get one between 15-20 pounds. If you go there with flukes or slug-go's, you can bang out 20-30 pike in a day generally in the 4-8 pound range.
  17. I personally love small main lake pockets with about 3-6' of water and dormant veggies. They also have to have about 8-10' of water nearby. I typically fish them with lipless cranks, hard jerkbaits if the wind is pushing in them, jigs on the shoreline and other pieces of cover, or big silver and white inline spinners.
  18. How about just going with straight braid and no leader?I keep one of my Sahara's spooled with 30 pound Power Pro (8/10 pound diameter), I use it for finesse fishing around brush, overhangs, and skipping small frogs. I'm sure you could go with 15 pound because it has the diameter of 6 pound or so and it would be pretty sweet. I like as few knots in between the fish and I as possible so I'm not a big fan of leaders.

    SOR

It is sponsor, s-o-r. It is the most commonly misspelled word in this section and is also probably the most important and commonly used as well. Not SER, CER, COR, SSER, SSOR or some other combination. It is like writing a letter to get into a college or other school and not spelling the name of the school correctly. For example Johns Hopkins School of Medicine throws out hundreds of applications from promising hopeful doctors because they typically address it to John Hopkins.
  20. That was good. I like the frozen shuffleboard court .
  21. Exactly. I was using just the standard hook on my lipless but after a lot of reading and asking questions I will be going up a size. I really noticed a drop in fish lost. But at the same time I use small lipless baits so they typically inhale the bait. But it seems like when there is only one set of trebles in the fish it takes less pressure off of that set. Where as with 2 sets of trebles they almost work against one another and one causes the other to pull out. When the hooks have more freedom (I also put 2 o-rings on so the trebles can rotate a full 360* instead of 180*)it helps in keep the hook from pulling out.
  22. No but the 6oz swimbait does, lol.
  23. Take one off and put on a #2 in the front, I wish I had figured this out before the end of last year.
