  1. Thanks dad, I'll take that as a compliment. tin2loose... How many tourney's have been won out of your boat by the way?...goose egg
  2. http://www.boreme.com/boreme/funny-2003/i_x_pumpkins-p4.php The others are pretty funny too.
  3. I'm with roadwarrior, jerkbaits on 8lb flouro! In cold water it is just too much fun. O ya and in clear clear water like that, make really really long casts.
  4. It wasnt my boat, they were both boats donated in Junior Bassmaster tourneys. Both were 80 lbs. Maxxum's though I do remember that. And one was in a brand new Ranger z20. I love Minn Kota's though, the only reason I still have the Motor Guide is because I'm a poor college student, low-budget, lol. O ya, are making fun of my English [that]? Just kidding.
  5. WOW! I cant believe all the standing timber you have down south of the Mason Dixon line. Looks like you have a lot of stuff to throw jigs at. Makes me jealous.
  6. Carb. Maybe a needle sticking to the seat.
  7. I have to "play" with my motorguide usually once a year, but I think it is like 5 or 6 years old. Next year I'm going Minn Kota. If you fish shallow and are prone to hitting objects that dont move the shaft on a Motorguide just wont stand up to it sorry. Also Minn Kota motors will go through grass much much better than a Motorguide. The only thing bad I have experienced with a Minn Kota is if you are in a trolling motor only lake and you run it from 70-100 for a long period of time you will have wires melt or fuses pop. (Happened to me in two seperate boats on the same lake in 25+ winds) But a motor will last as long as you take care of it and dont treat it like I do. : O ya not trying to offend anyone or say one motor is better than the other just stating my experiences.
  8. I meant better than lead.
  9. There pretty nice. They are made of tin , dont know if that is better or worse than tin environmentaly speaking, like the head and trailer keeper. I just dont like the lack of rattles, hook, and $5 lost if a pickeral or pike decides to give it a taste. But I have caught fish on them
  10. I will read the "Day on the Lake" sections in both FLW Outdoors and Bassmaster Magazine and thats about it. But I'll read BASS Times front to back a few times.
  11. Wish I had a little place like that near my place. Looks like it can be a lot of fun. Nice Report too.
  12. You got that jig down Matty and like LBH said it is one of if not the hardest bait to learn to fish mainly because most just cant get confidence in it. And to most lakes in the state you'll do good with it, and that perch was the surprise and best part of the day.
  13. Low Budget gave me a beat down the next day. I got 3 off the bat including a 3 and change, then he put on a clinic and beat me 9-4.
  14. I was just on... as usual. : just kiddin. Except when that three snapped me via my stupidity.
  15. The three important things I have learned... Ok I'am only eighteen but I have been fishing competitively for 4 years but in the B.A.S.S. and TBF/FLW Junior events I have been extremely successful. This was my first year doing all adult stuff and I really only had one bad tourney so, cant complain. 1. Plain and simple dont over-analyze and remember to JUST GO FISHING!-I used to think way too much and it will just drain you mentaly and you will loose your concentration. 2. Listen to you instincts and they will take you far. Soooo many times I thoughtg I should do something else and I said no because "I knew the fish where there... or I knew they would turn on eventually". Then the who wins the tourney's pattern involves that though you had and it is soo frustrating and will haunt you. 3. You can read up and learn all the things you want from Bassresource, your magazines, and TV shows but its all about time on the water and applying those lessons you learned somewhere else and going back to them when you are fishing. Even if you go out to fun fish at a good lake, use the lake to gain confidence in different baits or fish different. Low Budget got me out fishing in deep water this year and I acctually enjoyed it. Now when I fish deeper, clear, lakes in Rhode Island I feel comfortable and usually do pretty well.
  16. I like their trap better than the original because of the hooks it comes with. Whenever I bought an original trap, first thing I would do is change those saltwater type hooks on it, but the ones are the Rapala's are fine. Plus the Rapalas are cheap and pretty much do the same thing as a $14 dollar lucky craft lipless crankbait.

  20. Though both were 6 cyl, (thought they called it a tower of power or something like that) but the carbs and little bit bigger cylanders.
  21. The only trailer you need is a trailer hook,
  22. Tin

    Fish Hedz

Its a great investment and when you get caught up in a cold heavy rain you'll be happy they are in the boat.
  23. What about Banana-Stix? Sure they would work too.
  24. Ok never heard that term before, what does it mean when a lake "turns over"? Is it a fall thing?
  25. but if that fish is a world record then that guy must be 9 feet tall with HUGE hands. The fish doesn't look any bigger then 6.5 lbs to me. -Well said, just look at the size of his 3 fingers on the belly of the fish. Doubt it is even 6.
