  1. My weekend has already started , already did 3:30-9 at UPS. But now its time. Its 29 degrees at my house, some hot stew would be nice for when I get up. You stayed on BR half of that time. ;D Couldn't sleep, drank too much Mt. Dew this morning. All I could do is stay on and watch Jerry Springer. I would be fishing but there is this white stuff coming down and hard slippery stuff on the h2o.
  2. Kidding about the rod or he didnt finish in 2nd place? ;D Well, I'm sure my grandmother will be buying me one for Christmas. :
  3. 1. 1/4 oz Terminator Pro Top Secret Jig, Western Melon with Green Pumpkin Zoom Super Chunk 2. Zoom Watermelon Fat Alber Grub w/ chart. tip, matching 1/8 oz. Tungstien bullet
  4. I dont usually spazz until the fish is in the boat and in the livewell. Then I start freaking out, , or singing its PB&J Time. I dont really have a name for a big fish. Matty 5.0 has THE BEST "freak out" when he hooks into a fish.
  5. Bait Monkey gave me a whoopin' Since I have not been able to get my hands on the BassTrix paddle tails I just ordered some of these in the pearl with a black back. I'll give a report on them in 6 months, when the ice is off and the fish are eating good
  6. Definatley go parallel with the trap. If they are not all over the trap pitch the outside edge of the grass with a texas rigged brushhog or jig.
  7. Yup, just saw another update on it. Left a note saying he wanted to be famous because he was a failure at everything. By failure...his parents kicked him out for getting fired from his job at McDonalds for stealing $16.00. Just a sad world we live in. :'(
  8. mmmmmmmmm.... sounds like something bait_monkey would say. lol, just messin' with ya. ;D
  9. Go both days, smallie fishing in New England with clouds or rain can only mean one thing The Winnie Special.... Chartruese spinnerbait with tandem chartruese indiana blades 8-)
  10. This year with 5.Slow, jumping out of the Crawdacious-Unit foot got caught landed sideways on a curb and busted a few ribs. Worst I have ever seen was a guy loading his boat. The ramp was steep, so he loaded all but about 3 feet on so the nose wouldnt go under the front roller. So he pulls it up a little so the nose will go over and starts cranking it up with winch. Since it is a load on the winch he is bent over cranking it has hard as he can when the winch gear slips or something, well need less to say the boat goes down and almost off the trailer and the winch handle starts spinning out of control, hitting the guy in the forehead twice. Cut his forehead WIDE open, just nasty, blood everywhere.
  11. I have seen a few pics of the lake that show rocks around the shoreline. I would throw the jerkbait, tube or a 4" senko around the rocks. The other spot on the map I liked if you have access to, is in the back there is a little cut, and infront of and to the right of the cut there is a steep drop where it goes from 2 to 8 feet according to the map. Try all three of those baits around that area as well. Good luck.
  12. Are you fishing in a boat or from shore?
  13. Tubes are always a good choice for smallies and jerbaits this time of year can be a lot of fun. Both should do the trick. Any maps of the lake?

  15. Thank you to all of those who have ever served our country. For those currently serving, thank you and come home safe.
  16. Welcome welcome welcome.
  17. 5/8 oz. standard size bass jig. skirt wasn't trimmed or anything. i was using a bigger chunk at first. strike king makes 3 sizes of the 3x denny brauer chunk i think. i was using the big one, but then i went to the medium size one after after the nips. my buddy tried several jigs. (he tends to switch baits and try to fine tune a little more than me) he used a 1/2 oz. denny brauer pro model, then tried an arkie matrix, then settled on a booyah. all those were 1/2 oz. he used a paca craw for a trailer on all of 'em. We got tons of cold fronts, sometimes 2-4 a week in the spring time and early summer in New England. After a cold front on most days, the fish will just swim off with the 3/8 oz. jig, but they will just have it by the trailer, so you set the hook and you just get the jig or the jig with the trailer pulled down. Dont know if this is what you mean by nipping it or not. So the rule of thumb up here is stay the same size, just go to a 1/4 oz. for the slower fall. MUCH MUCH more productive. The slower fall aprears to make all the difference in the world. So maybe next time go from the 5/8 or 1/2 oz to a 3/8. It works up here anyway
  18. Moderate tip= Treble hook baits
  19. WOW!!! :o Is that braid on that reel? Never seen braid on any of your set ups.
  20. 5.Slow, you need some serious help. I know there is ice on you know where and UPS is crazy but calm down, its Friday. We will make some jigs and take a pilgramige to Bass Pro. Everything will be ok.
  21. Nice report, nicer fish. 8-) You said they were just nipping the jig, what size jig was it?
  22. Thats awsome. Couple fo quality fish too.
  23. I started laughing at the first one and never stopped. ;D
