  1. T-rigged on a Spot Remover Pro Model jig-head or a Title-Shot Knuckle-Ball jig head for finesse fishing on lighter line are the best ways imho.
  2. Over the weekend, I had 3 fishing friends confirm that B.A.S.S. does give a 12" exemption while fishing in Florida. Lame I was watching the weigh-ins live on the internet and I saw a 10 and 11 oz bass brought in by co-anglers. I don't know if I could of swallowed my pride and bring it to the scales. are you kidding me? when the fishing is tough, a 12 inch fish or 10 ounces could mean the difference between winning and losing. cashing a check or going home broke. i will swallow my pride every time when there is money on the line. you must not tournament fish with that statement. Prime example was Classic in Pittsburgh. If you caught 3 ,12 inch fish a day you woudld have been in the Super 6.
  3. Could it have been a toothy critter? Also, did you really wet the line when you tied up the knot? I know if you don't it will break like how you described.
  4. Were there rattles on jigs Tony? Also chrome or red lipless cranks and heavy (1/2 oz) spinnerbaits with a big thumper (colorado) blade.
  5. Drop-shot, shakey heads, and tubes for clear water. And as a spinnerbait fisherman pick up some chartruese spinnerbaits will 2 chartruese willow blades. They should be banned in smallmouth waters. 8-)
  6. Chartruese is a great color anywhere. Especially in our clear water lakes. Smallies and largies love it. A chartruese spinnerbait with chartruese blades is a must have in every New England anglers box. It is known up here as the Winnipausake Special. 8-)
  7. They are like most other batteries, take care of them and you don't have issues.
  8. You forgot one option, flipping. In most smallmouth lakes I fish I'm pitching jigs (Heavy action, 30 pound braid) or dragging football jigs (17 pound fluoro). Even my PB smallie which is just under 5 pounds I flipped in the boat. The inside of a smallies' mouth is harder than that of a largemouth so the odds of ripping a hole in it on the flip is usually not going to happen. Knock on wood I have never lost a fish on the flip. If your going to loose a smallie, it will be one of the times it rockets out of the water 4' and head shakes. The only time I wouldn't flip them is when I have them on light line or on a treble hooed bait, I will grab them behind the head put them in the boat that way.
  9. Very nice.
  10. Snowden has a bad habit of blowing leads going into the final day, I know he did it a couple times in the Elite 50's tourney's a few years ago. This goes to show, even pro's get skunked, even KVD did it on the final day in a tourney in 2005 when he had the lead.
  11. She beat you too. ;D
  12. I like a da stretchy.
  13. Nice pics Burley, I'm sure you'll whack em next time.
  14. Just wait until April 6th. 8-)
  15. 1/4 straight black jig or a green pumpkin 4.75" finesse worm with a screw in it. Always gets the job done. 8-)
  16. It works but I like the flukey's better because they have a slower fall rate. Plus 5 Strike King Z Too's that can catch 40 fish= $2.99 and 10 Yamamoto Senkos that can catch 12 or 13 fish=$6.99
  17. The first tourney I finished 2nd out of 11 boats. Lost by .22 >
  18. Sawdy Pond in Fall River 8-)
  19. Drop offs in front of spawning coves, or structure such as stumps or rocks on humps close to where the bass winter in deeper water.
  20. Congrats!!!!!

    swim jigs

As long as it has an arrow-head type head design to come through cover easily and a quality hook I would fish with it. As for a trailer, I like a Buzzfrog or a Horny Toad because it makes decreases the fall rate of the jig and it moves some serious water. It is a bait year round for covering water because it can be fished a ton of different ways and the fish don't see it too often.
  22. Power Worm in Red Shad for night fishing and immitating all the big eel's up here. 8-)
  23. Either speed up while fishing with reaction baits so you can cover more water or slow down and downsize.
  24. Nice fish, around 7 pounds.
  25. Nice
