A buddy got me eating a peanut butter and strawberry jelly sandwich with banana slices and Raisin Bran on it. I pretty much live off of them now. Anyone else have a favorite that is a bit strange?

Yup, they are hard to find now. Though the baits and such have changed, most of the spots on the lakes still produce.

Yup same up here, it must be a north vs south thing. Most of the craws can be found in areas with rocks. A little off topic but do you guys down south ever see bass spawning on very muddy flats? In a few lakes up here bass will spawn in a swamp-like portion of the lake where you can go up to your middle thigh with mud (long story how we found that out) and it appears to be where most of the largies in these lakes spawn. Rumor has it they spawn there because the mud does something for their eggs. :-/

I know it seems like I am stating the obvious here, but lets not forget that fish do not see things like we do. While we may see a shopping cart, momma bass sees something that will hide her bed from predators and is protected on 4 sides... I am still trying to figure out the depthfinder showing soft vs. hard bottoms, so I hear ya... I was always told the thicker the bottom looks on the graph the harder.

Ok, I guess it isn't just RI fish that spawn on the tops of rocks and stumps. Last year I acctually saw a fish that had a bed in a shopping cart that was on it's side in 2 feet of water.

1. The last time I fished as a non-boater was in my State Qualifying tourney. It was the last time for that. My boater was drop-shotting bridge pillings and was dead on with them so I couldn't fish. Well I figured out a little something and put some fish in the boat, then it died so I just started firing my sworming hornet over the boaters head. I know two wrongs don't make it right but sorry, I didn't pay a couple hundred to get back-boated all weekend 2. Alan, it's going to be a fun year in our club. ;D

Up here not too many people talk about or pay attention to bottom composition. In the Classic and recent events on Florida lakes (shell beds?) I have been noticing more talk about what makes up the bottom of the lake. We have beach sand, different types of gravel, mud, and rock bottoms up here. I know why and when fish relate to rocky bottoms, but what about the other three? :-/

I have owned and fished with both... Components: It is close but I would give it to the Avid Blank: The Carrot is much much lighter and more sensitive As for split grip or cork it is all a matter of personal preference, I personally like the split grip. I like the Carrot more because of the weight, sensitivity, split grip, and warranty. Ok before another war starts I'm out.....

100% Right. I would rather be on the water than working at outdoor shows. And as BillyBob says most of the time you have to be "deceitful" or exaggerate to get the job done as I have seen by about 98% of sponsored guys. I'm all set with that stuff. But my sister does have a pretty sweet deal. ;D

I would never go to a spot where someone else is fishing or go too close to someone. But sorry, if I'm in a tourney and was there first, I'm not moving. Like fishizzle said, there are "unwritten laws" but most people just don't care. Thats when you just follow behind them catching all the fish they missed. 8-)

With shakey heads that heavy heavy wire hooks like Magnum Spot Removers, I put on beavers or super-hogs and flip brush and timber.

I told you, just calm down and everything would be fine. Great job for your 3rd tourney ever dude. And you did what you wanted. Let's see what we can figure out for the next tourney and get you on some good ones. I wish we had this program up here. >

You made the right choice, love my original 40 series even on my V6. But $251 is a lot, did you do it yourself?
