Sometimes lure manufacturers and fishermen get to caught up in the hype of choosing and making colors. I believe through all of my years of being both above water as a fisherman and below the water(co-mingleing) with the fish, color plays a significantly smaller roll than we think. The one theory is to match the hatch. I believe this is true under clearer water conditions. As for stained or muddy water conditions - here is my rule of thumb for buzzbait and spinnerbaits. #1 Black for low light and nightime fishing either early morning or late at night. My first two hours of just about every tournament I fish is done with a buzzbait. the fish are shallower and active feeders.(creates a more defined sillouette) #2 White -the most all around versitile color. Use it in any color water -clear -stained -muddy- #3 ghost minnow(shad pattern) for clear water-its more translucent -The clearer the water -the harder it is to trick the fish. Its also a more natural presentation. #4 Chartreuse- Used in muddy water conditions. Chartreuse is the color the fish can see over any other color in the spectrum.#5- Chartreuse and white-The best of both worlds-Its the color I throw when the water is stained. You can use it early morning or just before dark also. The better a fish sees the bait ,the better chance of it not striking the blades. There is no real need for all kinds of fancy colors. The most important thing to remember is that a buzzbait is 90% a reaction strike. Sharp hooks are a must with buzzbaitsTo see our Cavitron Buzzbaits and why they are different go to www.cavitronlures.com Thank you, Bobby@ MegaStrike
