  1. We have been putting the 40 lb seaguar on the Evolution Jig since Sept. Open the pack -(It is user friendly) and check if it is your desired tension strength. If not call us -732-780-7383 .Im sure all the new stock is on the shelves.
  2. Hand tied skirts are not the answer. The skirts and the material are all highest quality. Its the shifting while shipping. That can be taken care of easily. For Bassmachine -Bassectomy-Dman that had problems with the jig -email me and I will get you replacements ASAP.As for the kick and the groin and the heads gonna roll-It will happen at the same timeLOL. Listen guys like I said we are friends here and we back our products100% .We want you back as customers. I dont want 1 Evo jig in your tacklebox -I want 50 in there. I dont want 1 Cavitron Buzzbait in there -I want all your buzzbaits to be Cavitrons . As for the Goo- There should on be the need for one fish attractant "MegaStrike".Like I said before -wait til ya see the New Shak-E2 Heads -You will have hundreds of them. Brian -thanks for the words bro.
  3. For the skirts being one sided -They are shifted while being shipped-Take the skirt and disperse it on a 180 degree line so that there are no strands on the bottom(towards the fulcrum) move all of the strands on a straight line across the top.(covering the weedguard and hook). Keep the skid plate clear-any skiirt material under that 180degree line is basically wasted weather on the Evo or any other jig.Now there should be twice as many strands in the designated area. They have the same strand count as most of the other jigs on the market-45 strands. As for the Evo jig being lop sided- Please send it to me -I will pay the shipping and send you a few of them back for the hastle. They all come out of one mold which is produced by a master mold. If one is lop sided they are all lop sided. As for the area around the eyelet-please send that one to me also-for the same exchange. The are cleaned from the manufacturing facility when they come out of the production mold. If I do find that they are as bad as you say-SOME HEADS ARE GOING TO ROLL
  4. Hello Everyone, Bobby from Megastrike- I just read some of the posts today about the Evolution Jig. Actually I was pretty blown away by some of the responses. First and foremost I would like to say that we built this jig with the best intentions for the fishermen to catch more fish.I am a fisherman first and I hate gimmics as much as you. This was a serious attampt to build the finest most fish catching jig known. We took all of the pros and cons from all of the jigs we have used for years and applied it to the Evolution Jig.This was also done with a few years of watching how other jigs react underwater under all kinds of conditions. The fulcrum(skid plate) was not only designed for the rocking foward motion but also for balance. We were underwater filming when we noticed that a jig laying on its side got hung up more often than one with the hook standing straight up. We also observed the fish would hit a bait with the trailer standing up more often than one laying on its side. We watched how the Evolution Jig came through rocks -weeds and heavy cover. When the head and body were balanced and standing up-It seemed like it got snagged less often. It went through the rocks better than standard football head. I will go on the record as saying I was never a big fan of really heavy duty weedguards. I have filmed them underwater(although they are more snag proof)you miss a few more fish with them. As of last Sept. we went from using 30 lb Seaguar Fluorocarbon to 40 lb on the weedguards. The 30 lb was my personal preferance BUT the 40 was more about 70 % the tension of the standard weedguard. (Not to light -not to heavy).Again we are always open minded.Nothing is permanent.Evolution!!!. I hope that you fishermen know me well enough that you know you are not dealing with "CORPORATE AMERICA "here. We are guys just like you and we will do anything we can to help you. We are not into the "get rich fast stunts". We are here as friends and to help our friends catch more fish with our designes.I have had many and I mean many fishermen that have had no complaints as you can see from some of the posts about the Evolution Jig.For some of you that have been to the sports shows that we have done demonstrations I hope we showed you the difference between our jig and others. I hope you gain the confidence in the Evolution Jig and continue to use our products. Thanks again and in no way was this to bash anyone or any other product you use. NOW If you havent seen the NewShak-E2 Head you are really missing out on something truely amazing. We have done sports shows all over the country and it has been the talk of the shows. The first person thats says something bad about that gets a kick in the groin LOL just kidding take care all-Bobby@MegaStrike
  5. Test for Picture on Web.com Well I have been watching and fishing" Shakey Style" heads for a while now.As some of you know ,what we also do here at Megastrike is underwater photography. I have had the honor to work with Tim Simos for the last twenty years www.bluewaterimages.net While we were filming we noticed that most of the "shakey heads" never really stood up at all -especially while you dragged them along the bottom. They would just lay there on their sides. I know one of the major attributes to shakey style fishing was the light weight and slow fall for finicky bass or suspended bass. What we did notice though was most of the strike occured on the bottom .We also watched under the docks -deep water and shallow - but about 50% of the strikes came on the initial fall. What we also had seen was a lot of the light wire hooks bending on the bigger fish-4lbs and up.I didnt like that. The other shakey style heads were falling over and laying on their sides and the bass werent as interested in them. They seemed to strike more often when the tail of the finesse worm was shimmering in their faces-(thus the "shakey" term was born)..and that was when we could get the jighead to stand up.The little screw things that you attached the worm to were a pain in the neck -very time consuming and if we were using hand pours -if you didnt screw it on right the first time ,ya might as well throw that worm away.It rips. What we also had seen was that they were very hard to fish if there was any type of wind. It was hard to detect trikes and keep in contact with the bait. The line was like a sail bringing the bait sideways. In the deeper water is where that bait should be at its best but it took so long for it to sink in anything over 20 feet. In any kind of current -forget it.Thats just the way it goes using ultra light weights I guess. So my basic conclusion of what a shakey head was ,is basically a light ball head jig -cut in half (to have a flat surface) that must be lifted vertically and fall vertically -land on a pretty much flat surface in order to stand up. To stand up for the purpose of shaking that tail of the worm in those little rascals faces.SOOOOOOOOOO. I started to design a Shakey style head that I thought would be superior to all of the others - of course under certain circumstances. The main thing I set out to do was have the jighead fall correctly. Then I wanted it to land in the upright position every time. Then I wanted it to roll foward in the proper position after being dragged along the bottom. I wanted it to have a stablizing system so it was more stable from falling over side to side.I wanted it to be able to be rigged exposed hook as well as weedless without one of those screws wasteing my worms. I wanted it to be powder coated so it wouldnt chip againt the rocks.I wanted the best trailer keeper system so the plastics didnt slide down the shank. I wanted a strong wire hook so they didnt bend out catching big fish.I wanted the eye recessed so it didnt catch as much debris. So this is what I came up with. Ya really have to see how these work underwater,They are awsum. What I did was incorporate the design of the Evolution Jig to the Shak-E (e for evolution)head. I added the slipless spike to secure the baits faster and tighter.I added our own Evolution trailer keeper on the shank for rigging it exposed hook style for open water. I added the fulcrum(skid plate ) to the head and added a football style head in the front (instead of the round head) which gives it more stability from falling over side to side.I gave it a recessed eye for the debris gatherings mentioned above.Powder coated it for durability And let me tell you this thing rocks foward into that great "Shak-E postion every time the bait is stopped. It lands on the fulcrum every time it is dropped so the bait stands up.According to sizes you can use it at any depth. Comes in black, brown and green pumpkin. It might not be used for all applications but it is as close to the ultimate shakey style head you can get.It also has been used to replace the standard football head. Preston Clark says Quote" its like the next generation football head" iIt has also been replacing the traditionl texas rig with the bullet weigh in grass and brush. It comes with a strong Gamakatsu hook. Guys I have put a lot of thought into this . I hope you like it as much as I do. Thanks for listening. samples will be out in january. Take care Bobby@Megastrike. My fingers hurt Im outta here
  6. Well its that time of year again when I pay all the bills for the patent attorneys -those scoundrels- and bring out the new designes for 2008.This year I designed the New Evolution Shak-E2 head. This has a very unique design. It is everything I believe a shak-E head should be and do.. I will post pictures of it in the next day or so. Well I think everyone here -and we are all friends-know that I love to give samples away. You guys know how it works. The first 50 BFR's that email me will get a free sample of these new heads. Guys I really believe I have something here so unique and funtional. I have given and have shown them to guys fishing the elite series and they all came back and said"Bob-ya got something here" They will not be available until the first week in January. I just wanted to get everyone in order so we get some feedback on the design. Thanks everyone, Bobby@megastrike.com

  8. DMAN-Please call me at 732-780-7383 about the Evo jigs. Hmmm! Never had that happen nor with the burrs. They are all cleaned before they are painted. I will take care of everything you need. We back our products 100% -No questions asked.-Bobby@MegaStrike
  9. ITS BUZZBAIT TIME www.cavitronlures.com LOL
  10. Catt , I have heard about these oil slicks, more in salt water than fresh. I have read from biologists that it is more of a visual effect =attraction than a flovor-or smell attraction.. They believe that over millions of years of evolution preditor fish use this as a visual way of finding bait .I know that the salt water fishermen look for these slicks to find the bait.Ususlly if theres bait the predator fish are not far behind. Its a secretion from the baitfish possibly as a warning. It could be from them being so vast and so tightly balled up-that the current or contact can wash it off of them. They release a pheromone type chemical. I dont know if its part of that or not. Some biolosist needs to skim some off the surface and see whats its composition is. Then they can deduce whats its purpose.I believe it being an oil and raising to the surface it really dosent help as a taste or smell attraction for the predators..they dont ride the surface. Then again nature is amazing. I watch that Blue Planet Show all of the time. We cant even imagine what goes on down there or how these creatures instinctivly know what to do. But they survive.
  11. SORRY ABOUT THE SPELLING ERRORS SOMETHINGS UP WITH THIS PUTER .ITS PRINTING EVERY OTHER LETTER
  12. I did something I dont normally do yesterday. I had gotten frustrated. I read a couple of posts and I wanted to get more information about what we were talking about in previous post. The fact and fiction about spray scents. The other things I wanted to see is if what I had come to conclusions in my years of R&D were correct or not.First I wanted to go over what I thought about the Anise Oil theory. I have looked at several different SDS. The level of toxcitity was slight meaning Safe for human consumption but should be diluted. It should not be ingested it pure form in any large quantities. Every one of them stated its was not water soluable. The other thing I did was back tracked and looked what people were talking about the Book "Knowing Bass" by Dr. Keith Jones. So I went to every book store in town to find it. Truely amazng readng and I think every bass fisherman sould read it.It was very good reading. My time frame was way off. They started using so called fish attractants around the 1600's even the anise seed was part of it. GO FIGURE Imagine the technology back then.Must have loaded the boat. The oil theorys are the other subject I wanted to find opinion on also.Lets open this can of worms. I will be taking quotes so none of this is mine but you can refer back to some of the statements I had made before reading this info.Stated "New technologies emerge every year, changing the face of the industry. My quote"EVOLVE OR BECOME EXTINCT"Heres another one I found "oil based attracants are derived from highy purified fractions of naturally processed foods like herring, shad and cayfish. These oily based compounds are composed of fatty compounds renowned for their insolubilty in water. They offer little chemosensory information to bass. They are often touted as fish atractants but definitly are not.OIL based attractants never have and never will be true attracants.THAT IS JUST A PHYSICAL REALTY.Oil based scents make good masking agents.I said that before in my theory of blocking or clogig the receptors. The ingrediants used in the so called attractant are whats most important.-fruity flavors,ANISE,GARLIC and TABLE SALT are a waste of tme. I believe I stated that somewhere. The pheromone theory =used for sexual enhancement and migratory reasons not for feeding. I believe I mentioned my theory on that also.Flavors derived from plants are usually poor for use as flavor enhancers. BASS ARE MEAT EATERS.Fats and oils go undecteted by the fish. The flavors mut be water soluable. He had one subject mentioned about the amino acids. It talked about the amino acids being the building blocks of the proteins. Dr Joes seems to have high praise for this theory of using them as an aid to attractact bass.So before I get to crazy here and I want to do some more reading.I have made some statements and someone else has backed my theorys.I m not here to get bashed by anyone . Like I said-we are all friends here with one common goal-TO CATCH MORE BASS.I wanted to try to help open the minds of some people and to answer some questions. From now on I will leave my opinions to myself so I will not cause any controversy here. Again use anything you have confidence in. I believe I told the truth about all of the statements I have made here and on previous posts. The best advice I can give is go get this book "Knowing Bass".
  13. JUst watch the video www.cavitronlures.com
  14. Muddy, You are almost there on the concept or theory of using emulsification. Just we do things a little differently ,a little more high tech..You are on the right track. We do not patent our process because when you patent something "You tell the world what you are doing". Let them copycats spend the time, money and hard work like I did to figure it out themselves. It would give them a short cut to bringing a new product to the market. As for the anise oil stuff. There are so many better food subjects you can use than anise oil.Think about it!!!When I say that the anise oil cannot be smelled or tasted by the fish, its true and the reason that its true is because the people that are using it, are still using it in the "oil"form. They have not converted it over technology wise to the form you started to elaborate on.Correct???? A bass nor any other fish is going to come all the way across the lake or even ten or fifteen feet to a bait because it has MegaStrike or any other enhancer on it.It just dosnt work that way. The baits are often moved around or worked to rapidly for the fish to detect the enhancer. The one fish that actually has a shot at this is the catfish. I believe that to be true because or the vast amout of receptors in the mouth and all over its body. Pretty much a scavenger fish though. The more realistic we can make a bait look, act, swim, sound and taste like a real subject or prey, the better chances of fooling that preditor into believeing whatever it is eating is real. How many times has this happened to you guys-You pitch out a bait -worm,jig ect. You feel the bass pick up the bait . You react by setting the hook. The fish expels the bait and the bait comes flying back and hits your partner in the head.It happens. What happens realistically is the fishes natural defense system kicks in and tells the fish that whatever it just inhaled had no food value to it.FISH ARE NOT INTELLEGENT CREATURES-THEY ARE CREATURES OF HABIT AND CONDITIONING'Nature made them that way or they would eat things with no food value and become extinct as a species. When you are able to fool or trick the fish by sight, sound or action, the last part of the equasion is the taste. Its all a puzzle .Put the pieces together and you have achived your goal.To catch a fish or more fish.Buy using real foods as an enhancer-I believe your odds get stacked better in your favor.Adding one or two more fish to your livewell because of this is the differance between winning a tournament, cashing a check or getting a pat on the back saying see ya next tournament.Nobody remembers who finishes second at the Classic-except Jim bitter.Like I said.We are all friends here.We are not here pushing product or scaming anyone. Use something you have confidence in. By knowing the facts behind it will give you more confidence that it will help you catch more fish. Thats why we are here. Remember what I said"There are no stupid questions except the ones that arent asked"We will try to find all of the answers to your questions. That is what we do.We learn more every day. How we do that is opening our minds as human beings and as fishermen. Thanks -Bobby@MegaStrike
  15. Would somebody please read a SDS(Safety Data Sheet)on Pure anise oil. I do this all of the time with Chemicals. We have to. The Anise oil theory or folklore has been around since the fiftys. It is an oil . It is not soluable in cold water nor hot water. It cannot be smelled underwater nor can it be tasted. It goes undetected by fish-PERIOD THE END. Berkley has provided numerous controlled data forms on this theory its proven.. Its not about hype -our pushing a manufacturers product. Its separating fact from fiction,(The subject heading)People -the worst thing we can do as fishermen and human beings is close our minds. I know that the asnise oil can be smelled by being airborn. Tasted by humans and animals but not fish. Most of the so-called pure anise oil in barley that. It is what is called a food grade. The pure stuff will knock your socks off. If you put one drop on your tongue -it will be there tasteing wise for 15-20 minutes. If you inhale it for a while in deep breaths -talk about high -whew Thats the real stuff. At 52-62Degress you will see crystals forming. It is also combustable. Dont play with it-it is flamable. The reason its in baits or plastics is to have a sweet smell for fishermen and to lubricate the plastics. Thats it. Do you know what good Ol'Mr Yamamoto adds to his baits???? Amino acids. He also spent a lot of time studying how and why the fish use them.As for the salt-its for weighting purposes only.As for the porkfat-same theory of soluability in water. As for MegaStrike underwater. Our base is an oil. We figured out how to put water soluable amino acids in this base and break up the molecular structure underwater. Trade secret NO BS
  16. CATT, I'm not here to insult anyones intelligence. Just to separate fact from fiction. Anise oil dosent work. Anise oil in its purest form is poison. It freezes at 52 degrees F . It is an oil and cannot and will never be tasted by the fish. The same as the garlic. It is put into so called attractant as garlic oil. Again goes undetected by the fish. When it is airborn. The smell is detected but not underwater. It is all heresay. Just like gas and oil. .The sunscreans are water soluable-the bug spray ingrediants are water soluable in some cases.Thats the stuff ya have to stay away from. The fish pick up the baits out of reaction. They hold on for a while with those so called attractants(they dont know any better)Some knucklehead sets the hook and catches the fish before it expels it and says "Hey this is the greatest thing since sliced bread" . Don't believe it. Its just coincidental.
  17. Berkley is a great company. They have all the resources they need and are growing every day.I pretty much know what they are using. Something in theory different than what we use. Their attractant is water soluable but what happens with attractants like that is it dosent last long. It washes right off. We have it so it lasts and is actually dispersed by water temp.As for being in plastics-My theory is anything below the surface is wasted.Im not a fan of their plastic baits. I like Yamamoto or Zoom. Its just a different consistancy.I'm not here to badmouth any company. What I like to do is separate fact from fiction. Like I said Berkley is a great company and their products are also.
  18. As for the Bass Pro deal. We will no longer be doing business with them.Believe me they had no problem moving these Jigs. We will leave it at that.
  19. If it comes in a spray and is an oil base= it is basically worthless. What fish can smell must be a part of their natural environment. Nature does this not me.In other words it must be water soluable. Oil molecules are much to large to fit into the chemo receptors of the fish. It would be like a tennis ball rolling over the top of a wine glass. It must fit into the receptor in order to be tasted otherwise it basically goes undetected.Thats why some people in the know call them cover scents or masking agents. What these oil sprays do is block the receptors from the negative tastes from being tasted. The fish hits a bait out of reaction. If it looks like a minnow -acts like a minnow -swims like a minnow -it must be a minnow-RIGHT. After the fish strikes the artifical bait -it will hold on to it for a little while. Then its natural defense system kicks in and tells the preditor that it is not real and expels it.. Berkley labs have timed this to happen in some cases as fast as 1/4 of a second. Way faster than most fishermen can set a hook.As for the crawfish scent. Dont believe it. It is not real crawfish. I know these companies who make it. It is actually called a fragrance or an essence. It has no food value what so ever. It sells fishermen. Anise oil has nothing to do with catching fish . Neither does garlic-salt or pheromones. Pheromones are used to attract animals for sexual purposes. When a deer is in rutt or same with a bass. The last thing they are interested in is food. They are interested in one thing-pro creation. As for the WD40 theory. Same thing -it blocks the receptors. What we did at megastrike 14 years ago was break down what the fish eat. 99% of what they eat are smaller fish.We broke them down to the proteins. Then we broke down the proteins. The building blocks of proteins are the amino acids. There are only 20 different amino acids in the world. 10 essential-10 non -essential. They have been around since the beginning of life. Bass need amino acids just like every other living creature. We also know the Aminos stimulate nerve ending in the receptors. They actually send electrical pulses to the fishes brain telling them whatever I am eating is real. We use the aminos that build skin cells -blood cells-replenish their protective slime coatings -build body mass and muscle and help their digestive systemAmino acids have flavor and smell to them. Some actually smell pretty bad. The fish know what they are and they will eat them. Its been happening since the beginning of time. There have been massive studies and research done in the past few years in Europe using amino acids as part fish attractants. Hmmm I knew about them 14 years ago. go figure.I wrote this in a hurry and we could go on about it for days but if you have any questions just ask. Remember "THE ONLY STUPID QUESTION IS THE ONE THAT ISN'T ASKED"
  20. Hello everyone!! The traditional jig has not changed much in the last 40 years. The Evolution Jig is a very Hydrodynamically and technically designed jig.We watched for years while filming what the average jig does underwater.Just to let you know some credentials- go to www.bluewaterimages.net. Tim and I have been best friends since we were ten years old. We have had 4 cover shots on Bassmaster Mag. covers on BassWest. (22)pictures in BassMaster . Did the Yamamoto catalog and have had cover shots done for every major salt water magazine out there.Tim is the top when it comes to underwater photogrphy. Back to the jig - 99%of all of the jigs out there fall over. Their heads are not properly or their weight displacement is not properly designed. The Evolution Jig lands upright 99%of the time -its almost absolute. Even when it falls off of a rock it usually lands upright. When we filmed the bass inhaling the jig it actually stood upright in the basses mouth.Thats why the hook was set at the top of the mouth more often than the sides. While filming we also noticed that when a jig is sideways in the fishes mouth-you pull it while setting the hook and it sneaks between the lips. Put a hook sideways between your thumb and forefinger and pull. Same theory. Take an Evolution Jig -tie some line on it . Place a pencil flat on the table -pull the EVO Jig over it . Watch how the skidplate kicks the hook straight up-usually right through the fishes snout. As for the cost of the jig-You dont have to tell me. When we started this project-lead was .62 a pound-now $1.48 -tin was $3.70 and is now over $7.65 a pound. The Seaguar Fluorocarbon weedguard has one yard of fiber in it. Tell me how much a yard of Seaguar is. The Gamakatsu hook and the custom skirts are expensive. We have fishermen all over the world now using them. Once you get away from the old concept jig and gain confidence in the Evo Jig You will not want to fish any other jig.The rocking foward action also is a huge step foward in jig design. The skirt foward of the weedguard is incredible for swimming and flairing. The eye of the hook built into the head for less snags on weeds ect. Believe me this jig was very well tought out. If it wasnt-it would be just another jig.As for our Finesse Plus Jigs -I promise you -put a 4" worm on that jig and you will throw away every other shakey style head you have. There are none better Remember my quote"Evolve Or Become Extinct" www.evolutionlures.com
  21. Here is another pic
  22. Ive got two more pics but they are not as good. Believe me this was a pig. I will get the other two up in a bit. The fish was 23 7/8 inches long. Thats what I ment when I said the kid is 270 lbs to try to give some depth
  23. Yes, I did road warrior. It was as good as it gets. I appreciate it and if there is anything I can do for ya -just yell Thanks again buddy
  24. This new combination of an Black Blade with Black Body and Black Skirt is an awesome combination for catching bass at night. NICE PIC - HUH? Http://www.cavitronlures.com
  25. I took my neighbor's son fishing the other day and this is what he caught on a 3/8 oz Cavitron Buzzbait. Just to give you the size of the bass this kid is 14 yrs old 6'2" 270lbs. THE biggest fish of his life! Take a look at how small the 3/8 oz Cavitron looks in the bass's mouth. The Cavitron Buzzbait is a very simple bait to use. If this kid catch one any one can catch one. I estimate this fish to be 12 yrs old; for a (NJ Bass) this is a giant. The Bass was 7lbs 2 oz - the fish was released. Http://www.cavitronlures.com
