They come with mustad UltraPoint heavy duty Flippn hooks as you can see. they are powder coated for durability and come in assorted colors. They are also less expensive at 47.95 a package of 2. 6. As for the fish being gut hooked. I have seen fish pick up-swallow and regurgitate baits back up. Remember they are not intellegent creatures-They are creatures of habit and conditioning- THEY THINK THE BAIT IS REAL AT FIRST. then their natural defense system kicks in and says it is not . Then the spit them out or regurgitate them. They do swallow some baits that are not real or have food value to them at times but not often. I have found them to swallow senkos-I do know for a fact that gary yamamoto uses amino acids in his baits. Hmmm what othe product uses them. You guess it. Bass as well as other species of fish eat regularly. Its an every day occurance. Not every thing they eat or attact is artifical. There are fish out there that have never even been exposed to lures. Its the ones that have been caught and released a few times that become wary or condition to baits. They are the so called "smart ones". they arent really smart-Your dog Pee's on the carpet a few times -ya smack him in the *** with a newspaper and he wont do it any longer-Same theory"conditioning"Its a trial and error thing. Why do ya think we try to make baits mimmc the real thing so closely-TO GET MORE STRIKES.We always say "show them something they havent seen before- something different. Then we get into reaction strikes-thats another story. Probibly the best reaction bait still to this day is the rattletrap-Tell me why they hit that bait so well year after year after year.
  7. Hopeless-Absolutly not what I was saying. I have never even seen ,tried,or taken it apart to see what was in it. In order for a fish to eat it or even to hold on to it longer-it must have some sort of food value to it. If it does not-It gets expelled and thats it.Fish, animals, human beings cannot go around eating or swallowing objects that have no food value to them.Although I have read many ingrediants on packaging and wonder what the heck are we eating this for.The fish react to the lures action or triggering qualities. They will attack them for several reasons.I have filmed them holding baits with nothing on it for quite a while depending how agressive and what kind of mood they are in-then ultimately it gets expelled. I have also seen bass and other fish that will eat just about anything if they are in schools with a lot of competition around. They are opprtunists and sometimes they have to fend off the competition just in order to get a meal.
  8. No .I truely do not believe that it is done to sell product. It was all probibly done and documented BUT like I stated before his results may vary from other test results based on the conditions. He is a very well knowledged man. There are other scientists and physicists that disagree with Stephen Hawkings theories-It dosent mean they are all correct.
  9. I have looked at the molecular structure of these oils. They (the molecules) coagulate together in groups to large for the olfactory glands and chemoreceptors to accept. What Dr.Jones states has some validity to it. As for the anise oil and garlic oil-thats what they are OILS-the have the pretty much same molecular structure as the oils used in many of the so called "FISH ATTRACTANTS" - I truely believe that the fish do not taste these products at all. They are going undetected. The fish are just hitting the baits out of reaction and the fishermen are just reacting setting the hook to the feel. I have been underwater with bass for over 20 years. I have seen them hit baits(all types) swim with them and hold them for a while then expell them and just swim away. I have also seen them inhale baits -spit them out then inhale them agin and again. It was like they were waiting for the natural flavors to be there but they were not. Then they just lost interest and swam away.Like Geoege stated-when doing testing there has to be what is called a controll.-To get the abssolute positive results and data each variable -condition-"control" must be exactly the same to make your deductuction or conclusion. I also believe with live animals that can not always be done.Fish ,human beings and animals get conditioned to certain tests and if you bring in a different specimen it changes the controll. The fish can also get conditioned to eating certain flavors -kinda like in the fish hatcherys foods. They are let go into the wild then have to trial and error the real world.I believe genetics take over from there. Whats going to happen when the fish that are raised in hatcheries and that certain gene to be wild and eat wild things is no longer dominent??? Man has become conditioned to eat what we eat -prepared foods -going to the supemarket ect-Could we survive in the wild- Better start watching Man VS Wild or survivorman. LOL. Those guys are nuts but think about it probibly 90% of the population would become extinct. So as for the testing-I really dont know how much of it can be stated as coincidental or fact. Just my opinion

  15. Mega Strikes Again at ICAST 2008 MegaStrike It wasn't too long ago (two years) that MegaStrike won a Best of ICAST new product award for their then-new Evolution Jig. Well, they say lightning doesn't strike the same place twice, but Mega does! Not with an award this time, but with the sensation at the ICAST show surrounding MegaStrike's new ShakE2 jig. There's never been a jig as technically-constructed nor perfectly-balanced like it! The emphasis this year in the MegaStrike booth was on their new stand-up style ShakE2 jig head that's especially designed to fall forward and land upright. It tends to balance upright on the wide football head and fulcrum plate. Another feature is the jig head has two keeper collars. One collar to thread soft baits onto the jig hook shank as in traditional exposed hook jig fishing. The second keeper collar lets you rig baits weedless (aka shakey jig style) when snags are present. Megastrike owner Bobby Uhrig shared a little tip that he's been rigging smaller swimbaits on the ShakE2 heads, since he finds that the ShakE2's fulcrum plate can work almost like a crankbait lip, giving more swimming action to swimbaits. Many vendors have test tanks to demo their products in action to buyers at ICAST. "Swimbait vendors who saw how the ShakE2 enhanced the action of their swimbait products immediately wanted them to demo with their products. One of the top swimbait names in particular, he took one look at how it made his swimbait move, and immediately asked to order 100,000," says Bobby proudly. "You know when anybody who's anybody in the soft bait biz are all ganged up at MegaStrike's booth to try to get ShakE2's to show off rigged on their products back at their own booths, you've probably done something right," says Jamie Cyphers, editor of Bass West USA magazine. MegaStrike also plans to offer a heavy duty 3/4 oz size with a heavy flipping hook for working it through thick grass such as on Lake Guntersvillle, Alabama. "Some of the top names in our sport have asked for and are using the prototype of this flipping ShakE2, and it works perfect in all kinds of heavy cover - too good for me to let them be the only ones who have it," laughs Bobby.
  16. Hey Big O please give me a call-732-780-7383 Thanks Bobby
  17. Let me tell ya something!! With the economy being what it is-ICAST was an incredible show for us here at MegaStrike Inc and for all others I talked to there. I had the honor of hanging with our "GURU"Glenn . A total professional and gentleman. One of the other gentleman I got to meet was "THE MAN STEVE " who invented the RageTail. Absolutly one of the most incredible baits you will ever see on the market.-Pick up a pack and if you dont like them-I will buy them from you.Ya know there is always rivalry in the business but with the right people there is always respect. I have the the utmost respect for both of these gentlemen. I saw a lot of new products. Some good some EHH! Still a lot of copycat stuff going on but I think people are getting away from that knowing they have to think outside the box. Ken Whitting from E21 is still the biggest or should I say the smallest pain in the gonads there is. That guy is incredible. He is a genius in a dwarfs body. I kept losing him every time he turned sideways. He is my buddy for life. Ol *** and Tackletour -were covering the show. That is the ultimate duo for giving the "real deal" on the shows products. It was good to go and good to be back home. If there was ever a show to go to-ICAST is the grand-daddy of them all- Fred Hall #2 . Get a chance plese head to Orlando next year . you wont regret it.
  18. Try the New shakE2 Heads from Delos-
  19. I am not a big fan of stiff weedguards. I have set hooks on fish with stiff weedguards and never got a stick in them. ESPECIALLY on hooksets that are far away.Longer casts ect. Every yard of line thats out there takes more power to set the hook. By the time the strike is detected-bend in the rod-linestretch- stiff weedguard = deferred power to the hookpoint- Ya have to find a happy medium-
  20. Here ya go buddy- Pics of the new EVO2 Jig being debuted at ICAST NEXT WEEK- Smaller profile-stiffer weedguard- rocknrolls-sporting the "killa"4/0 Gamakatsu flippn hook and at $7.95 a 2pack the best jig available period- the end
