  1. String-SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH -I have to put my son through school LOL
  2. Throw whatever you have confidence in- any brand any color-just go fishing
  3. Its a good point but you have to be innovative thinkers to see where you can improve an existiing concept or idea. As I stated in the previous post -there are no real similarities with that pipsqueek -bait. Heads that have been around were designed more like spinnerbait heads-they were not hydrodynamically designed-they did not produce lift or plane quickly enough- the bodies were to high in the water column which allowed for more missed strikes by the fish(not the angler). Thus the bend in the wire at correct angles. Blades were treated to give more sound and commotion. It all comes down to "tweaking " or improving a concept or design for more productive results. But ya still have to see where the original concept can or needed to be improved. Believe me its not rocket science-Its time in the water.
  4. We here at MegaStrike know how the color spectrum works under certain light penetrations and water clarities. Here is what we have for color use guidelines. Black -for early morning and low light conditions -also used for night fishing- White can be used any time of day under clear or stained water clarities- Chartreuse is used under muddy conditions-less than 1 foot of visibility. The ghost minnow(shad Pattern )is used for clear water -more than 3 feet of visibility. The chartreuse and white combo is used for stained water +less than 3 foot of visibility. Most of the other colors are filtered out under certain water clarities and light conditions so there really is not much of a need to go overboard with colors. Remember the bass are looking up at buzzbaits so what they mostly see is a silhouette. They attack the action of the buzzbait
  5. Ron, the best is when fishermen get excited showing pics or tell stories about catching a good fish. The kids are the best. This kid here was 14 when he caught this fish that was a tad over 7 lbs. In New Jersey that is a great fish. That kid was yelling for me to help him get it in. I walked over and coached him how to play it -bring it to shore and lip it. He was telling me to do it but I told him he had to do it to learn. So he did it and wanted to get it mounted -I said Hmmm dont ya think it would be good to let it go. He kissed it and said I'll wait til your 10 lbs- I will tell him the same if he does catch it then LOL-Let someone else catch it and get that heart pumping- C:\Users\Bobby\Pictures\Tims 7lbr2.jpg
  6. The best compliment to a product is someone trying to copy it- There are people that sit behind desks all day long and try to figure out how to beat their compitition. They have no innovation nor can they think for themselves. Most of them have never even gone fishing. Kinda sad. With that particular bait -they aren't even close- There are to many differences but I get the hint. No big deal.
  7. Personally I throw a deep diving jitterbug with some strizzle-gets them every time-
  8. THE BEST STORAGE I HAVE FOUND IS IN THE BASSES MOUTH LOL
  9. Ok its Tuesday night fight night. I am getting ready to go buzzbaiting with Hiawatha and a new guy that has never even caught a bass in his life. Lets see what happens -I am going to take some pictures and hopefully the wind will die down a bit.I will post them in the morning. Its going to be tough to top last weeks shindig
  10. ***s full time job is working for Gary Yamamoto- Russ can help you with any questions you have about Senko techniques, colors you name it -Russ step in here when ya get a chance and guys Russ will be more than glad to share his knowledge. We are very fortunate to have him here-K enough asskissn
  11. JL -The color on the potomac is Chartreuse and white combo.3/8 oz size when the wind blows and the 1/4 when its calm. There areloads of weeds down by Arkendale and thats where I crush them there. When I get into the creeks with the lilypads I run the baits anlong the edges and man do they slam them.I can get them also around the points in Mattawoman
  12. Like I stated before-We just happen to be using cavitrons -I am good friends with the owner LOL. I am sure they would have hit other styles of buzzbaits. It also has a lot to do with the conditions of that night-full moon-fall-warm water ect. They were just eating. Cmon there is no miracle bait-(well maybe the Senko) But I havent seen any buzzbait as good as the Cav- We caught a bunch of bass and they held up as good as right out of the pack.QUALITY COUNTS WE back em up too.
  13. The Yamamoto senko is the greatest fish catching bait ever-period-the end. I have actually conducted tests where the catch ratio of wacky rigging it compaired to texas rigging it was about 10 to 1 . When you Texas rig it(weightless) you get more of a darting action and when stopped you get the shimmer effect. I truely believe the wacky rig triggers the attack response because it acts more like a injured baitfish. It is a more exagerated movement. Also displacing more water and vibration. Then the dieing shimmer is the iceing on the cake-it poses no threat and is a simple meal-in other words its not obnoxious. When you used to go shiner fishing and that shiner was on its last leg-remember that twitching motion then the fall. Thats what I and the senko try to mimic. try it and see for yourself and let me tell you another thing-nothing but nothing falls like a TRUE GARY YAMAMOTO SENKO- I spent hours underwater filming them compaired to the knockoffs and nothing was as balanced and had that shimmer effect like it.
  14. From what I have studied in all of my years of bass fishing is that there is a lot of science behind it. Humans ,animals, fish ect do things at different times for different reasons under certain conditions. The moon and the barometer are two of the most governing factors. There are a lot of studies being conducted on the gravitational pulls and forces of the moon and how it effects every living creature on this earth.. Through millions of years of evolution, mother nature or God,who ever put this together is aboslutly brilliant.BUT there are also random acts that happen outside the so-called norm.(This is what creates evolution and makes variety) I believe that what is being stated is when the barometer is high-the pressure keeps the bubbles to a minimum-pressure keeping the bubbles down as well as the opposite for low barometric conditions.I believe that that could be possible by pressure and condensed water. I have also learned one thing about bass fishing -I THREW THAT BOOK OUT A LONG TIME AGO>Bass fishing is like mechanics-*a process of elimination with an educated guess* When I go fishing I try do do things that no one else is doing-be different -dare to dream type thinking. I have caught bass under EVERY barometric condition there ever was. A lot is dictated by water temp at times but I have caught them with bluebird skies-50 degree water-you name it -when everyone I am fishing with says are you crazy -My response to them is "WATCH AND LEARN"- The moon is responsible for so much that happens on our Earth. There are spores that multiply causing coral reefs-only on full moons-many of the creatures spawn on full moons-the sea turtles only spawn on full- There are flowers-and all kinds of crops that rotate around the full moon-tides ect are all governed by the moon. The scientists believe that if the earths moon gets knocked out of alignment for any reason the Earth will start wobbleing out of balance causing total mass destruction with the oceans ect. I believe that shallow bass are catchable bass. If the bass are shallow under any barometric pressure you can catch them with a buzzbait. While some bass go deeper and suspend under high pressureconditions I know they can also be caught using the right technique. So for the question asked above-I believe that the barometric pressure has something to do with the activity of fish but if you think I am staying home and not going fishing and throwing a buzzbait because of high pressure you are nutz.SO WHO"S GOING BUZZBAITING TONITE
  15. All of these fish were caught from the bank. They were all cookie cutters anywhere from 3lbs to 4 and change. They are all different fish. Like i said they were on again last night -just eating and fattening up for fall. The other nite we went out there was a small breeze and the fish slammed the baits . Last night there wasnt a ripple on the water-the bass just slurped them dowm. ONE THING WAS FOR SURE "WHEN THEY WANT IT- THEY WANT IT" there was no slapping or hitting out of agression -they were eating. I get my biggest fish of the year every year around the last week in Sept or first week in OCT. All of them come on a buzzbait.

  19. Took one of my prostaff guys(Leon) out last night for a few hours. not a ripple on the water -there was a full moon-its as starting to cool off and we slam'd them again on cavitrons. My thumb is torn up. We caught about 15 between us in 2 hours all solid chunks-same as the other night but different location-the buzzbait bite is on These are just a few picsC:\Users\Bobby\Pictures\gedc0105_491.jpgC:\Users\Bobby\Pictures\gedc0106_189.jpgC:\Users\Bobby\Pictures\gedc0106_189.jpg
  20. OK YA ROTTEN KIDS- The main reason that I, in all of my years of fishing buzzbaits I find for not hooking up is-*** There are a lot of components that add up to hookups and heartbreaks. Of course there is the to fast of a reaction hookset. What happens here is the bass dosent get the bait properly aligned in its mouth. I have filmed this where if the hook is not at a correct angle it dosent get hooked. Think about this -if the hook is at a 90 degree angle to the fishes mouth -its comes right past the lips. (put a hook between your forefinger and thumb-turn it sideways and you wont ***** yourself as you pull it out now change the angle just a bit-OUCH) I have also witnessed while underwater is that when fish strike a surface lure and it dosent matter what type of fish or lure-the closer the bait is to the surface, the more air the fish will inhale while taking that bait. When the fish grabs that bait, it swims away and opens its mouth to release that pocket of air and thats when 99% of the bass fishermen set the hook. The bait actually just gets pulled out of its mouth. If the bass dosent get stung you can usually catch him again on the next cast --- good follow up baits are a senko or tube bait.-It just thinks the bait escaped like they do every day. The other factor is equiptment-ya have to use a medium heavy type rod-heavier line (to prevent line stretch) and a sharp hook. The rod and line together add less stretch and give more power to the point of the hook. Remember distance also with that. The further you are away from that fish the more power gets disapated to the point of the hook.I use at least a 6 1/2 fr medium heavy and a high speed reel to take up the slack quickly Thats why you have to match your tackle to the types of baits you are using. Follow these rules and your hookup ratio will increase. Also fun fishing never use a trailer-tournament fish always use one.
