  1. My rule of thumb is when fishing tournaments always use a trailer hook. One lost fish could be the difference between winning it or getting a slap on the back saying "see ya next tourney". One thing I always always always have is another rod nearby with a followup bait. I have watched bass search for whatever the thought they injured or missed while attacking. They are very competitive when there are more than one bass competing for the bait. I have had bass (especially in tidal water) compete for buzz baits as well as other baits such as crank baits and Pop R type baits. About 7 times in my life I have caught two bass on the same bait. Hmmm that gives me an idea!! CavitronII
  2. If Triton Mike didn't get it resolved then its time to call *** and if that doesn't work you calmly idle over and ask the gentleman what you did to offend him. If he gives you a smartass answer calmly turn your boat around lift your jack plate as high as you can -trim the motor up and stomp it. Rooster tail that belligerent jurk right off the boat- Some people just need that to happen so that cant go around thinking they are allowed to bully others.
  3. I'd still call triton mike
  4. When Dozer comes up this way to fish -we go to my two favoite restaurants in the country- In catskill NY(The Hudson ) La Conca Doro-and here in NJ -the best sushi is at Mahzu's- We are kings for the day- whoever catches the biggest fish -the other guy buys dinner.Everyone goes home a winner
  5. I dont know -he (Larry/Dozer) called me last week and ript me to shreds- He is supposed to come up this way to do some salt water fishing-I invited him to do some bass fishing on the Hudson but I cant find anyone that will fish with him. DOZER M.I.A. I sold my boat a few weeks ago- maybe I am a dork -and just havent found anything I like yet or better yet I havent found one at the price I like yet. Now I am a "non boater' Dozer and I went to the Hudson fishing last year in Dec -freezing- now they are moving into the creeks In the next few weeks fishing should be great- Where are you Dozer-get your *** up here/

  12. Sucks because he didnt invite me !!!!
  13. The guys that are using them swear by them. We get a lot of repeat customers once they really see what these heads are doing underwater.
  14. I enquired about not painting the spike-they put a silicone sleeve over it then powder coat it add 5 cents to the bait my cost-time is money =nickled and dimed for everything done extra-The quote was you want vanilla you pay for vanilla you want sprinkles and whipped cream you gotta pay.I dont mind paying for quality- its paying for something you are not getting that pi$$es me off. Remember I am just like you guys.I am not here to rip anyone off. I back everything I do as I have proven since day one in business.
  15. DO THE GOO!
  16. These were the first models I had-the issue I had with them was screwing the baits on and I was using hand pours and other softer baits -if you didn't get it on straight the first time it would tear the bait. if it wasn't on straight the bait would spin. i really haven't had any issues with the post. I was going to bring these out also but they cost 8 cents more per head with the screw-that is my cost -which on the retail end from stores would add about a buck per pack. I will make them . It really is the most functional shak-e made. all personal preference I guess.
  17. HOW DO YA LIKE ME NOW LOL!!!!!! Some times I really scare myself
  18. Ok hows this-unpainted of course
  19. What happens on our type of trailer keeper is the angle of the cones or barbs are in an upward or forward position -like that little plastic hose fitting in that pic above. When the bait gets pushed on the keeper it goes with the grain of the rings-when pulled back they go against the grain therefore cutting into the plastic and keeping it set. What I do when applying the bait to the spike is pinch the bait to set it. I do not have it come off often. I have other fishermen say they put super glue on it. The reason I went with that spike is it kept the worm or bait on straighter than the screw types. POSSIBLY the powder-coating rounds out the cutting edges of the spike not letting the sharp edge to grip the bait. These heads are individually powder coated so POSSIBLY some are thicker in powder or coating than others. What that might do is round out the sharp edges and thats only because that spike is thin and small compared to our rear trailer keepers on our jigs. i have also found that the screw type keeper rips baits even easier on the softer type plastics like hand-pours.
  20. Am I missing something here?? What are you messing with? The powder coating in the eyelet-That wont cut line.As for the spike keeper-After the first run we added another ring to the keeper. it worked much better -the bait had more to bite on. ya have to see what happens under the water to really find or see the advantages of these baits.
  21. I cant really tell whats wrong until I see the Cavitron. Believe me I play with these things all the time. If its rolling over to the left(when its coming at you) then you are just reeling too fast. The cup pitch -which is what causes the resistance and slows the bait down is very deep on Cavitron blades. If you open up the pitch you can reel them faster because there is less resistance through the water. If its turning to the right -then the wire is out of align- Look from the back of the bait and make sure the top wire is in alignment with the hook and keel. Look from the front and make sure all of the components are straight. When you said that the bait was turning into the brush -at times I have bent them so they will do this. i will bend them so they run under docks and along pilings on retention walls. I have caught numerous fish this way. The is always plan b-Send them back and i will send ya new ones- Cant beat that.
  22. Click on the Shak-E2 banner at the top of the page and watch the video. We sell a lot of these heads. Word of mouth is moving them quickly or go to www.megastrike.com
  23. Glenn, Like I mentioned at ICAST.Ya gotta fly here and we can get to Lake Champlain in the fall. I promise you will never fish anything like it. 4 to 5 lb smallies -like wolf packs- largemouth everywhere feeding up for the winter. You can do a drop/shot show-crankbait-spinnerbait-buzzbait-jerkbait all in one week.
  24. I have to admit it was more informative than just about any show out there.Very well put together. Glenn maybe you should do a complete series for the guys here at BR. Top to bottom Fishing with your host and our hero Glenn May-Great job- let me call Walt and see if Rolands retireing soon. The shows need to be more hands on and more informative just like what you just showed us-Good job
