  1. HMMM . The hooks are Gammys. The only issue I have ever heard of these hooks opening up is when some guy screamed he lost a 7lbr- I asked him was he using braid. He said yes 50 or 60 lb PowerPro. Hmmm - Maybe they are a little shy for being whacked with 60lb braid. I pulled s stump up with 30 lb one time and landed it. I designed the new E2 for braided line . That has a real strong heavy gauge flippn hook on it. That might help. 2 in a pack for $7.95
  2. What happened here in The "North East" is we just had some major cold weather come through. It was kind of a shocker . The weather this time of year is usually in the mid 60's consistantly. C'mon I remember Halloween around 60-70 degrees. It just had a little spirt of cold. What I find is, that turns them on into feeding. The water is still relativly warm in the low 60' to high 50's. Those are the times I catch my biggest bass of the year.-like Ike says NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!!! here in New Jersey they were crushing buzzbaits last week before the storm.
  3. Ok no comments about the mugshot- Just added some new stuff and you can see the new Strikeback Spinner Bait- Check it out www.megastrike.com
  4. KOOP TRY THEY cHART/WHITE WITH THE CHART/NICKEL BLADE -smallies love chartreuse.Burn them across the surface.
  5. You are our fearless leader- Dozer you missed a great time at the Hudson. It was on fire with one of the best weigh ins I have seen in years, 6 fish 25 lbs won it Lance had 21 lbs with a 4 lb smallie. Jim and I finished 10th out of 45 boats. We pulled on a rockpile and caught 22 smallies in an hour. I had a big smallie on and he punched me in the groin -i was laying on the deck still reeling. Get your tail up here.
  6. Yes I will. I have been throwing the blades and ha vent had any issues with the colors fading /chipping ect. They are a "Candy apple/ -candy chartreuse and candy/ blue " finish- I was throwing the White /Red in some clearer water the last few weeks. This could be a great spring spinner bait. I caught an 8 lb catfish on one last week and had no issues with the bait-that fish did the death roll about 20 times-never unhooked
  7. I also added a big'ol 5/o hook. The trailer keeper on the back end really secures the trailer of your choice. If you are in clearer water and just fun fishing -when the fish gets next to you -watch the head shake -keep the line tight and watch how the jointed section swivels. He has no leverage to throw that bait because the front end with all of the hardware is stable. It dosent have all of that weight to shake it free.
  8. KOOP-I'm glad you received them - I want to know what ya think about the blades. They look very unique in the water, The top half reflects the color and the lower half reflects the flash. I hope you like them.
  9. WE JUST FINISHED ASSEMBLY AND MAKING OUR FIRST SHIPMENTS-HERE IS A LINK TO SHOW WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE-THEY ARE AVAILABLE IN 3/8 oz-1/2oz and 3/4 oz. If you have any questions just ask .You can order Tackle Warehouse or at www.megastrike.com or call 732-780-7383 http://lineart.redshad.com/StrikeBack/
  10. This was something like what was stated in an article years ago-I just happened to find this when I searched and look at the last PS. The one I had seen was years ago and was from an independant company that wrote a history or bio of WD40 ===WD 40 Uses Friday, September 18, 2009 WD 40 Uses 1. Protects silver from tarnishing. 2. Removes road tar and grime from cars. 3. Cleans and lubricates guitar strings. 4. Gives floors that 'just-waxed' sheen without making them slippery. 5. Keeps flies off cows. 6. Restores and cleans chalkboards. 7. Removes lipstick stains. 8. Loosens stubborn zippers. 9. Untangles jewelry chains. 10. Removes stains from stainless steel sinks. 11. Lubricates noisy door hinges on vehicles and doors in homes. 18. It removes black scuff marks from the kitchen floor! Use WD-40 for those nasty tar and scuff marks on flooring. It doesn't seem to harm the finish and you won't have to scrub nearly as hard to get them off. Just remember to open some windows if you have a lot of marks. 19. Bug guts will eat away the finish on your car if not removed quickly! Use WD-40! 20. Gives a children's playground gym slide a shine for a super fast slide. 21. Lubricates gear shift and mower deck lever for ease of handling on riding mowers. 22. Rids kids rocking chairs and swings of squeaky noises. 23. Keeps pigeons off the balcony (they hate the smell). 35. Removes all traces of duct tape.. 36. Folks even spray it on their arms, hands, and knees to relieve arthritis pain. 37 Florida 's favorite use is: 'cleans and removes love bugs from grills and bumpers.' 38. The favorite use in the state of New York , WD-40 protects the Statue of Liberty from the elements. 39. WD-40 attracts fish. Spray a little on live bait or lures and you will be catching the big one in no time. Also, it's a lot cheaper than the chemical attractants that are made for just that purpose. Keep in mind though, using some chemical laced baits or lures for fishing are not allowed in some states. 40. Use it for fire ant bites. It takes the sting away immediately and stops the itch.. 41. WD-40 is great for removing crayon from walls. Spray on the mark and wipe with a clean rag. 42. Also, if you've discovered that your teenage daughter has washed and dried a tube of lipstick with a load of laundry, saturate the lipstick spots with WD-40 and rewash. Presto! The lipstick is gone! 43. If you sprayed WD-40 on the distributor cap, it would displace the moisture and allow the car to start. P. S. The basic ingredient is FISH OIL. Posted by
  11. I had read about WD 40 years ago. What I had read was that one of its main ingrediants was fish oil which was used to displace water..Petro being the base or carrier - My time frame might have been off a bit but like I said it was developed for rust/ corrosion prevention. I dont know what they are using now but then it was stated that the original formlas ingreadiant was fish oil. With technology today they could many other- more advanced /sophistacated ingrediants that are environmentally friendly. My original statement was just saying that WD 40 was a called a "Fish Attractant"
  12. WD40 has been used for years as a"FISH ATTRACTANT" Do you know why??/ Its main base is fish oil. It was developed years ago to aid againg rust corrosion during WWII. The product itself is truley great-BUT for its intended purpose. It is a petroleum base and pretty much outlawed for spraying into waterways. So that is the reason it is used- FOR the fish oil- One day someone used it caught some fish and now its a "FISH ATTRACTANT". When I first started on this project I worked with a chemist to find out what are in fish.HMMM proteins-Then I said lets find out whats making up those proteins HMMM amino acids. Lets find out why the fish need amino acids and which ones they need HMMM .Anyway I started that back in the late 80's early 90's. If all of you that are reading DR Jones books -take a look at the copyright date- Then look at some of the research and findings of amino acid use. There are companies in Europe that are now dabbling with the use of aminos- I had these theories almost 20 years ago. Still to this day you cannot have control or absolutes with living creatures especially simple minded creatures. they do what they want when they want. All i have ever said about our product was when they inhale it-they will hold on to it and eat it, which gives you better strike detection. That fish is not going to swim across the lake or even 10 feet away because you have mega on it. the job of the "lure" and the angler is to get them to the bait. My job is to get them to eat it and hold on to it to produce-increase- higher catch and strike ratios. i have always sais and claimed from day one -if you dont think that our product increases your catch ration-send it back for a full refund.Gotta go to work now-building spinnerbaits. thats the next subject to rant on. C Ya's
  13. Bass are sight feeders for sure-they react to what they have been conditioned to eat since they were hatched and genetically for generations. I believe and that's why I spent so much time researching that bass and other fish use smell and taste more than we think.I have stated many times that there are zero proofs and /or absolutes when dealing with live creatures. From what I have seen over the years in the wild/and in captivity-bass are highly attuned to using smell to trigger strikes. Two years ago at ICAST I demonstrated using baits with and without Megastrike . No hooks no line no rods -just throwing different baits into the tank with Mega and without. The bass would swallow baits with it and expel them without. I would toss heavier ones so they got to the bottom(just pieces ow plastics/tubes ect) and the bass would home in on them and find them amongst the gravel on the bottom. I want to see if I can convert the tapes I have to format -so we can view them here- I will see how we can do it-THEN you tell me what you think.
  14. I have a video here that was taken in one of the bass tanks. One video show a bass actually swallowing a bait with MegaStrike on it and the other video in the same tank shows a bass coming back and hitting a bait about 7 times after the bait is pulled away. Believe me you can see it registering with the bass - it wants it not for the reaction strike but for the taste. Pretty wild video-it was taken with a camcorder at one of the shows and has to be converted to be shown on the web. i will see what i can do
  15. All Ive got to say is come watch some of the demonstrations we do at the sports shows we attend every year. Watch and learn. Ask Russ *** from Yamamoto what we do with and without MegaStrike. Believe me seeing is believing.
  16. Very well written MD
  17. That is exactly correct. Let the fish dictate to you how they want it-fast slow- medium but always carry a follow up bait like a tube or senko style bait for the missed strikes. I know that is hard to do when walking the bank . It can make the difference between a good day and a great day.
  18. My buddies all have the insulated versions. They said unless you are fishing in extreme cold -dont buy them. They are hot as H%$^. They are the best raingear out there. They said buy the non insulated so you can put on layers of clothes if you need to.Most of them fish in the warmer weather .-spring-summer-fall
  19. Once an addict always an addict- The phrase is just a "recovering addict-"--you fell off the wagon my friend. Its not a bad thing
  20. UH BOY, Let me get my thinking cap on here. There are so many times that I wish I could be with an angler when he runs into problems catching fish and thinking its he (the fisherman) or the bait he is using. I find that when we go with a preconceived notion or idea when we hit the water ,we get discouraged when it does not produce. The main element or factor is " it's what the fish wants", not what we want them to want. As for buzz baits- they can be the most productive lure of they day when the conditions are right for them otherwise ya hit a blank. Its a puzzle that the angler must figure out. Ya cant go out saying I'm going to throw buzz baits all day and scratch your head when it doesn't pan out. Shooter said he was throwing 3/8 oz. Sometimes they do not want the 3/8 because it can be to big ,loud and obnoxious. That's when I go to a 1/4 oz(just downsizing) sometimes it works and sometimes it dosent. When it doesn't that's when I throw a spinner bait or crank bait. Then I find if they aren't aggressive -that's when I go to the jig or senko style baits. If that doesn't catch them -there are no fish in that area. There have been many times that I just couldn't get the fish to break the surface area to strike a buzz bait.Shooter just mix up the presentation or change location and go with the changing conditions. Change baits and even use different buzz baits to see what kind the fish wants.Figuring out the puzzle is the most rewarding part of fishing(it produces). If we were catching all of the time ,fishing wouldn't be fun or a challenge.
  21. I try to look at it from a scientific point of view. I have heard of hermaphrodite fish before(both sex )It could be from hormone type pollution but I personally think it could be from mother nature herself.Remember and this is just so some can relate-Remember in Jurassic Park-"Mother Nature always finds a way "They were to produce only one sex dinosaurs - It is true. this is not being a jurk either I have always wondered about gay people-(Not that thats a bad thing) I do not think it is choice but possibly a gene that has gone awry. Possibly eggs in males or vice versa-I don't know if any studies have been conducted. There are reasons for everything that happen on earth-some we will never know-I believe mother nature does these things to ensure survival of species. There now that's a can of worms I opened. Remember I think outside the box-
  22. He's playing with the New Mutt-Hes not answering- Actually the smatest thing Ihave heard was to spread the rope out. I thought about it and it would probibly work. It would probibly get in the prop is right.
  23. It did look like it was hauln ***. I would probably have tried to get close on several attempts but never ever risk life- The thing to do was probably get in front -blow your horn to warn everyone to stay clear- I actually would have tried to get close and hit the throttle somehow. Ya never know how both people got thrown out and the throttle cable could have snapped and jammed at full speed. Hey as long as no one got hurt-no big deal -you can always buy another boat but lives aren't for sale. &Ya heard of throwin people under the bus- I would have thrown Dozer under the boat. WHERE ARE YOU DOZER-YOU COMING UP FISHING WITH US THIS WEEKEND????
  24. I would have at least tried to get close and shut down the throttle. I know the boat was flying . Maybe not jumped on board but try to do something. The only reason I think that these guys did nothing was they thought it was TRITON MIKES BOAT. If it was Dozers boat I would have gotten closer and throttled up. Remember seriously use your kill switch lanyards -they are there for a reason and they could save a life.
  25. I also got a new scale-Its on my back from all of the abuse I get from the guys here like dozer and triton mike- LOL I actually own that same scale. They did a nice job on it-I use it in tournaments -(DOZER AND MIKE wouldnt know-they never cull)anyway it came in a nice little pouch-some culling rings -again they wouldnyt know- I got it at one of the shows that was up here in NY from one of the Berkley reps- Berkley did a nice job on the scales - .I would recommend it to anyone without paying $189 for the other ones.
