  1. rodman no like me. nice catch, havent seen one out there in years it seems like
  2. no scale on me for this big girl. She was the one though. See you again in the fall on that ledge w my balsa boogie crankbait. Hot summer florida sun has all the big girls hiding deep lately rdy for some cooler temps! Even AM and fishing ALLLLLLL night through mosquito swarms producing very very low numbers and size lately.
  3. im fishing oceanway tomorrow morning and would love some company. My first time at this lake. Its supposed to be crystal clear and deep, with lots of grass. I have 10ft pond hopper predator and trolling motor. Two rods a person, your box, and a cooler full of beer is all she can hold comfortably. I also am down to try some intracoastal fishing now that the shrimp are in the river. Not trying to test my boat in some tides, looking for spots with a short distance from bank to spot. Up for any new spots. PM me.
  4. there is like a 45 page thread of jax fl local pond hopping lakes where 10-15 people post weekly. Of course I wanna hide my new spot that Ive recently gained access to! I guess thats true on the trespass. No need to elaborate with excuse on that one! Thanks all!
  5. I tried to do take a few pictures with fair comparisons to my body by not holding my arms all the way to the camera. On the bottom one, I am holding it right next to me to compare length. It was an epic fight from about 60 feet out. She jumped a few times and pulled drag under the boat! AHH if I could press rewind! That moment was great! Hopefully the first of many big fish to come. Her tail was all bloody on on side, she was on full on post spawn shad bustin mode!
  6. Caught this one on a balsa boogie crankbait in a private lake in Jacksonville, FL. Caught about 30 between me and my pops. two guys were catching so many 3-4lb bass on live shiners and keeping them that they had to sit on the coolers to keep them from flopping out. Absolutely ruined the mood after this fish I caught. That is how our fisheries die out. And being a pond hopper in the jacksonville area, we dont have much anyways! Also fished out of trout creek a few days ago and ran down to tocoi. Fishing was slow, senkos around eel grass and some topwater action. Talked to a guy who said he had about 19lbs on a chatter bait and rage tail fishing SLOOWWWWW in the eel grass. TX this weekend out of trout creek, I hope all goes well. Anyone have any news on Sante Fe or the surrounding lakes in that area? I want to take the pondhopper out to one of those smaller ones. which is best?
  7. me and pops went out yesterday for a little ninja fishing on some private waters! We usually fish these golden lakes on holidays when we know we wont be run off by the owner. Anyways caught over 35 total for the day. My best five prob went 22+ my best day ever. It was his day, but I felt no sympathy on the water. BEATDOWN! He beat me in numbers but I stuck a few pigs. Here is my new PB which I caught on a balsa boogie crankbait on a hump in deep water... We actually lucked up and ran into the owner and are in the process of getting full access! The only negative for the day was these two guys catching 4 lb bass on live shiners and filling two huge coolers. They had 6 rods out each fish after fish. Anyways, no scale idk the size, she had gurth this pic does no justice. MY PB THO!! The other one went about 5-6 I believe. I wish I had a d**n scale, Im still waiting for my first DD. I got the bug more now than ever. Caught and released after only two short pics (30sec) and a revival. TO be caught again
  8. willing to take someone out with me to fish lake off of ricker rd. (private jea property with 8 houses on it) My friend rents a house on the backside and we trenched his backyard all the way to the lake. I have fished towncenter and all of skinners lakes. He will run you off unless he knows you. I live in OP. I just moved back from orlando and this lack of lakes is killing me! I have predator and I am not afraid of traveling. Also I can get us on asbury every now and then, I spray a guys yard on the lake and he occasionally lets me get out there! awesome lake! Looking for some public access lakes and some new fishin buddies. Would be cool to get a few pond hoppers out there one dday and have a little 20$ tourney!
  9. wells lake in orange park. Can launch kayak or fish the whole thing on land. Deep clear lake with lots of grass. Big fish 20yr old lake
  10. take spinning rod with light line. Also that big lake is fishable if you have a pickup.People put jon boats in it and the guy who owns the land has been gettin ticked but there are hogs in it. Have had says of 50+
  11. fished that lake to the left of your red marker on that pic 3 weeks ago caught them steady with dropshot fishing real slow. Waters clear and there are pads all around. Walkways all around that you can cast here and there but very easy to put a canoe or jon boat right in.
  12. Whether its alive or dead that is a HOG
  13. they spawn that early this time of year? I know they do but is it common or just very few fish ? south FL big spawn probably hits around Feb? I'm just curious.
  14. snuck into a lake in middleburg on property where there was an old abandoned church and saw a 15 stare at us from the bank just barely visible underneath a 3 foot wide lilypad. we got chased outta there but trust me there will be a time where I will fish it! but if we're talking saltwater I got all kinds of illegal or on private property spots!
  15. oops again

    CRIG

any recommendations for a good crig reel? need something that can handle braid and something not too pricey? I fish the crig prob 60% of the time i fish so i need it to be reliable!
  19. NEW ENGLAND FOR SURE! THEY ARE ALL CRABBY READING BR WHILE WE'RE DOWN HERE FISHIN! 8-)
  20. i fished it today with overcast and steady wind and i didnt even see many bass cruising. The day where i saw all the fish was blue bird with no wind. The whole lake bottom is covered in thick hydrilla so i am starting to think i am just going to start flipping the really dense hydrilla mats. We catch small ones on speed worms all day but i want a bigger bite! but if the whole lake is covered with hydrilla(90%) which is like 2-4 feet under the surface where do i start flipping? the densest stuff or what? im so clueless!
  21. lol i sure didnt feel like the guide! I was getting stomped! Its okay though, he knows whats coming to when this weekend when we go flipping.
  22. the main forage appears to be wild shiner but there are also alot of bluegill in the lake? im thinking weightless trickworms?
  23. I've been fishing a new lake lately and the water is absolutely crystal clear. I feel like I am bedfishing in march in a spring or something. I have been seeing fish 4-6 lb range swimming around and through the hydrilla in this lake all week and its driving me crazy. What lures or tactics do you guys use in clear water. Main cover is grass not much wood and the lake has its deep spots(12 ft) and shallow grass areas. Any suggestions? I know this bedfishing season I am taking a 10 from here I have already seen some potential!
  24. oops here she is
  25. my buddy got the big fish today caught on a LC pointer we tore them up today solid 2s and 3s schooling on points. caught around 50 this past weekend this one being the biggest i think around 6? (he is a pro at stretching his arms out during the pic, i cant master the technique!)
