  1. Dump the GF. Problem solved...
  2. Ok guys... Jay and I have been on a couple backpacking trips in the past month and have utilized the app called "Backcountry Navigator Pro". This app is KILLER for a hiking GPS app. The first trip we used it on was in the desolation wilderness. We found ourselves hiking for 2 miles ontop of 10 ft of snow. No trail but no problem. With this app you can download certain areas of the state. Simply drag and click the area for which you want offline maps. You can pick from Aerials or Topo's from mytopo.com. Pick was zoom level you want to download and wala! Offline topo's and aerials with zoom. With the phone on flight mode and the GPS on, we were able to zoom in on our location from the map we downloaded prior and found ourselves 50ft above the trail. The gps was dead on! Our trip this last weekend found us hiking for 4 hours and 7 miles in the dark. Once the app has your position aquired you can choose to start "tracking" your trip. You can name specific trips for use again as well. With this app we were able to make sure we took the right forks during dark and navigate the right creek crossings and we even used the topo feature to map out where we wanted to look for a campsite in the dark! Each trip we have used it on had the trails designated on the map for easy navigation. Our next trip this weekend brings us to lakes which have no trails leading to them. This will be a new test for this app. The app offers a free version (trial) that gives you all or most of the features for 16 days, then you have to buy it. But the cost is only 9.99... thats it! You can do searches for different areas, lakes, mountains, etc and create way points as well! This is an awesome app guys! Can't say enough about it. I have a Samsung Captivate that I use it on. With flight mode on and the GPS on, I could do a full days hike and check the map a couple times every hour and go through a battery every day and a half. Definitely worth checking out for all the hiking enthusiast!
  3. So are our posts going to be deleted for grammar and punctuation mistakes? Maybe Mike's first job as a moderator is create a "How-To" for the spell check.... Congrats Mike
  4. A few years back they had the chocolate cream cadberry eggs... haven't seen them here in california for some time. Anybody seen them lately?
  5. Well not really, just run to the front of the line infront of all the people that paid and tell them your VIP... you'll get your free room and board before everybody else ;D
  6. So I'm in need of a swim bait rod that is two piece due to the nature of a certain lake and getting into it. I've done some searching but am unable to find a swim bait rod that is two piece in the specs I need. So my question to those rod builders out there.... is it possible to take a stock swim bait rod and that is 1 piece and cut it in half and make a two piece rod? I am aware that this would effect the action to some point but at this point I'm willing to take that chance. Do any rod builders have input on this? Anybody willing to do this for me for some $$$... Thanks
  7. Nah... doubt it. His would have had V12 with flames!
  8. Took the words right out of my mouth
  9. HAHAHA.. Nice! I don't think i'm going to enjoy fishing with him anymore for awhile. It's like taking a binky away from a little kid.
  10. Nobody likes quitters..... But in all seriousness, I'm happy for you. No more having to throw away your spit bottles out of my car after a trip! ;D
  11. Yep, that is why I got kicked out. The reason why I won't go there again is because the guy was being a male genitalia after I told him to sign me up for the camping permit and he said the gates are closed and I couldn't purchase one. He said if we weren't gone when he made his next loop he would call the "authorities". >
  12. Last time I went there they kicked me out. I'll never go again. :-[
  13. "I'm going the "lesser known" route... I'll throw a shout out for Jay Lillpop (Fourbizz). He is the SOB that got me started throwing these things and he has always been there with info when I asked. I respect what he has done with the swimbait. Dude's a stick."
  14. Nice photographer! Yep. I find myself daydreaming about that fish pretty often the last week or so!
  15. Cool ride but lame video. The whole time I was waiting for him to do that. Lets see him skim across the water holes at 85 and then I'd be impressed :-/
