  1. I noted the lady had three children all of whom were in custody of other family members. Maybe I misread that but it made me think she has a drug problem. Perhaps a meth head robbery gone bad. The man is from Williston, SC a small crossroads town I've visited a few hundred times..my mom was born there. The sheriff in the article is my third cousin on her side of the family..I remember once as a kid visiting the jail when his father was the sheriff there. Glad they caught these guys quickly.. Hey razyrsharpe..where you hale from ? I'm in the middle of USC campus typing this. Oh yeh, Go *****!!
  2. 4 to 4.5 lbs. I'm shocked your broke the line. Quick thinking on your friends part.. Double check the scales..5lbs is too much for this pic.
  3. Hey guys, Would one of you describe the fishing and species caught around these two lakes. I'm in Columbia and know all the nearby lakes and rivers well. I drive over Clarks Hill when going to Atlanta but know nothing about it. Virtually every lake or river within 75 miles is loaded up with stripers, largemouth or smallmouth. But I've never heard much about those two lakes. Occasionally I work for Greenwood County and drive over Lake Greenwood..which reminds me of Clark Hill for some reason. It's in the area .. so if you know anything about it please do the same. Thanks, BA

  6. This is a sad story. A local minister who loved to fish was shot in the back of the head while fishing at his favorite fishing hole. He'd become a grandfather just a few days before he was shot. Read the story God speed pastor..what a waste.
  7. Hey Guys, Be sure to see the Bill Dance bloopers at youtube. I love Dance's show but don't get to catch it much. He's a riot in some of the bloopers!! BA
  8. I used to fish 3 or 4 days a week after work. I'd run grab a six pack and head to the lake. Thinking back fifteen years later I don't remember catching tons of fish..but I think often of how quiet and peaceful those trips were. I'm guessing it was how I would unwind from a crazy day at the office. I think fishing is a lot of fun even when there's not lots of fish.
  9. Hey Guys, If you want to read a great book on the hunt for the next WR go find this book "Sowbelly: The Obsessive Quest for the World Record Largemouth Bass" The author travels all over meeting the select group of men who are trying to catch (or grow) the world record. He takes you to where people are trying to raise them via breading (Al & TX), to California where the monsters around San Diego lurk and even to Cuba where they hunt with beat up old boats and 40 year old tackle for the next record. I just read it recently ..a great read.

  12. Well I used to get up as early as 3:30 to get on the water. Now I'm learning to watch the rain or tides if in salt water and the fish feeding times which are based on the solar and lunar calendars. For example the best time to fish in the next few days is the 14th , two days before and two days after. You can buy calendars of this feeding times or find one online.
