i use popper type baits in the mornings over weed beds on points or deep weedbeds when its calm. buzzbaits i like to use when its windy and cloudy. i even use popr type baits when it is windy and cloudy or i have done really well on torpedos when it is choppy.
i only have broke one T1 that was about 3 yrs ago. since then never broke another one. i use them exclusively also...how is the price comparison from war eagle to terminator?
Well guys finally got my first largemouth wasnt what i was expecting when i got there. i figured i would catch somthing bigger. but i guess this spring has been pretty tough on the tournament anglers at this lake. but this fish was caught on a smallie beaver texas rigged color was california 4200. was standing up on a bluff rock threw it out started swimming it back about 20 ft out and he chased it up i missed him then i tossed it back in about the same spot jigged it a little bit and he nailed it.
Hey guys do you think that swimming jigs in 54-58 degree water is a good technique. i love swimming jjigs in the summer and fall when the bass are chasing shad but wondering how well it works in the spring time. how about spinnerbaits with that water temperature? whats your experiences.
hey guys just wondering what you guys would fish in these conditions. the water temperature is 54 degrees clear to stained water i will be fishing in coves mostly. alot of brush and rock any help would be great. i like fishing in postspawn summer and fall the most never been able to do much spring fishing.
i have thought about doing a remote tour over to korea to get out of the horrible state of new mexico. what base are you near osan or kunsan? and which one is better so i will know which one not to go to. i will have to hit you up if i ever end up that way.
Anyone on here from new mexico, this is my first spring here and was wondering if anyone fishes elephant butte or santa rosa lake. i have done really well at elephant butte for largies. but was wondering if anyone would like to go out for a trip sometime this summer?
Hey just got my new boat and was wondering if you guys put the stabilizer in your gas the last trip you take and run it through the motor. or just put it in the gas and let it sit in there? thanks.
the streams i fish are only about 8 ft across but have some big trout in them so i go with a 5 ft ultralight rod and use a chartruese trout spinner and do well for brownies.
when i fish in may in michigan the best lure by far is a white terminator T1 spinnerbait nickel blade. usually the smallies where i am from are either spawning or in post spawn just guarding the fry. i wade down the river and throw as close to any wood or rock close to the bank reel right through the fry and they will smash the spinnerbait. good luck
haha thats so crazy i was there on my senior trip and i was like man i want to fish them lakes to know if there are any bass in them. thats awesome man. nice pics.
I love it when that happens. usually it happens every cast that i make i think that, but thats just confidence. thats the reason that we all spend so much time researching books, magazines, and watching DVDs or fishing shows. just for that moment when we get to get out on the water.
not in any order..all my smallmouth fishing is in rivers also.
strikeking 1/8th ounce buzzbait
zell pop in shad or chartreuse color
shallow crayfish colored crankbait
white terminator T1 spinnerbait
watermelon double tail hula grub
yum houdini worm watermelon
rapala xrap
caught many 3-5lb smallies out of one river on these baits love them.
around laydowns and grassbeds when the bass are shallow those baits are killer. i love shallow cranks and wake baits. spring time is prime time for those.
CJ he said that the second lake he is going to be fishing will be 40...the other is a cooling lake. but anyway i say flip and pitch shallow brush rock and docks for the one with 60degree water. 40degree go with jerkbaits, jigs,or senko.
