  1. ill do it im in new mexico. next weekend going fishing.
  2. i told my friend 50-50 for gas and food. its a 2hr trip there so 4 hr round trip. ya it might be kind of harsh compared to what you guys do not saying anything unless they offer but i am an A1C in the airforce we dont get payed much. but ya 50-50 is what i would say. obviously your boat payment insurance and all that you have to pay cuz its your boat.
  3. i really loved their soft jerkbaits like the zulu and z too those were great i still buy them online but cant find them in stores. i still can find their finesse worms love those to. 3x trailer is awesome just a litte drop of super glue and you have your trailer all day. but i never had a problem with them melting or stretching when they are casted.
  4. when we lived in alaska me my brother and my dad were standing there fishing for kings on a river there cant remember if it was willow creek or kenai river anyway, this guy was launching his boat and he was having all sorts of problems couldnt back it,wife was giving him bad directions and were watching this all play out. so finally he gets the boat in the water, but forgot to unhook the hook in the front of the boat that holds it to the trailer it was just loose. so the boat floats off with wife and kids in the boat. he goes to pull the trailer out and drags the boat up on the ramp and into the rocks lol wife and kids yelling. we were laughing so hard my brother yells over there " what you fishing for rock bass" we were laughing so hard, and he didnt think it was to funny.
  5. zel pop, or rebel pop r, also the popn image.
  6. me and my buddy were skipping docks with black and blue strike king jigs. these jigs are pretty big the 3/8 ounce model so he casts it hard to skip it and it smashes the pontoon, and it makes a loud DING and my friend says thats called the dinner bell. now we always say that if we hit somthing.
  7. new mexico, texas, michigan, nebraska, missouri, bass love watermelon senkos also.
  8. me and my buddy were wading for smallmouth and he cast real far and landed on this sandy bank he looks at me and says thats called sneak attack. no sooner he pulls it off the bank about 5ft out connects with a smallmouth.
  9. hey wondering if you guys could give me an online retailer that sells these batteries. i have one battery but would like to get another one for back up. or use this one as my main battery and the other one for back up ,becuase it seems around here on the forum everyone likes these batteries. thanks
  10. My friend has a beard! And yes if I smart off to my dad then I have to give him 90 bucks to fill up the boat! wow a 12 yr old with a ranger and has 90 bucks to give to his dad. must be nice. lol i just bought my first bass boat and i am 20yrs old and it isnt no ranger. the only reason i could buy it is becuase i was deployed to the desert for so long.
  11. just wondering how you guys fish your ikas i bought a few bags for the first time this yr never used them wondering if you use them weighted or weightless? thanks.
  12. scum frog by far...has the softest body and those hooks come right out.
  13. random searches for bass fishing....i have had an account for about 3 yrs but my parents computer was so slow i couldnt stand waiting ten minutes everytime i clicked on a post. so i have had different names in the past.
  14. thats crazy when i lived in michigan there was a lake exactly to what you described water wise that is. so clear you could see 20 ft plus. we used topwater all day it was sprinking out. in the spring time. we would throw as far as we could, and where we couldnt see and thats when we would get the fish. we got a couple that went 4lbs all the rest were 1-2 but i say throw as far as you can and where you cant see the bottom. and try finesse worms those worked well also.
  15. hey guys wondering what type of oil you use to mix with your gas. in my manual it says to buy quicksilver 2 cycle engine oil but we dont have that around here anywhere so i bought supertech 2 cycle engine oil. i was wondering if that would make any kind of a difference. also same thing with the lower unit gear lube i bought the supertech but it says quicksilver, but there all the same are they not?
  16. i like buzzbiats, poppers or a spinnerbait works well to. those are my 3 go to lures in the rain. but one day me and my friend went out it was in october in michigan so it was freezing. it was pouring down rain 30 degrees and the bass were in about 1 ft of water all the way down the bank and we were throwing senkos one fish after another, 2-4lbers all of them. never forget that day.
  17. for clear water i use a watermelon senko, stained to dark water i use black and blue jig or tube. cloudy days spinnerbait ran by the dock or cranking by the dock is really well. if you get it in real close just tick the post that is under the water and it will draw reaction strikes. topwater also in mornings evenings or cloudy conditions.
  18. quantum accurist pt..i can throw the smallest of baits farther than any other reels.
  19. here is my first bass boat 1988 bass tracker pro 17.
  20. jigs, spinnerbaits, topwater and worms and creatures. also i always have confidence that i am going to catch fish and will fish until i catch at least one.
  21. hey man i see that you are at ft leonardwood missouri. i lived there when my dad was stationed there as a drill sergant. he was a combat engineer. but anway we fished the big piney and the gasconade alot back then. we still go to fort lenardwood every yr to visit with old friends. but those two rivers are excellent for wading for smallmouth and largemouth in the back waters. i like to use topwater like poppers or shallow running crankbaits thrown to the shady spots in the river by any rock or wood. tube baits and spinnerbaits also work well and hollow body frogs for largemouth. but if you have any questions feel free to ask.
  22. ok guys i have a dillema this spring has been horrible for me. i am from michigan and have no problems catching fish during the spring time. but in michigan there is alot of grassy points the fish relate to docks, dropoffs. the lake that i have been fishing here in new mexico is all rock and brush and no houses so no docks there is one marina that i know of on the 36,000 acre lake. i fish the coves like crazy because the water right now is about perfect for spawning its 60 degrees,i do everything from flipping an pitching, cranking, spinnerbaits, shakey heads. you name it i have done it and its getting frustrating. what is your guys best technique in the spring time? oh and its windy most of the time there. any help would he awesome. i catch fish in the summer and fall here but not the spring. i want to start doing tournaments like i did in michigan i did very well there. but these lakes down here are so much different. thanks.
  23. i keep mine in the orginal bags then put them in the big walmart freezer bags. and label them for example creatures, worms, jig trailers, frogs, tubes. then all my hard body baits like cranks, jigs, topwater and hard body frogs go in the plano boxes. in spinnerbaits and buzzbaits go in the top of the tackle box.
  24. anyone ever use these and had any luck im looking at them right now on *** and see they sell them in a 20 pack for 2.89 i will buy them if i get some positive feedback on them.
  25. tell my wife that i cant buy the couch that she wants but went and bought a battery charger for my trollling motor battery. go without buying groceries so that i can buy gas for the truck and boat. only buy food when needed.
