  1. seriously the one side of the battery collapsed. i was thinking the same thing about car batteries. not really sure why it did it. my guess would be the sun. becuase it was fine one week ago not its all messed up.
  2. hey just wanted to let you guys know if you live in a really hot area do not leave your battery in the back of your boat. i went to go get my battery so i could charge it up after my last trip last week. and in that one week the battery was in the back of my boat and it collapsed. the only thing i can think is that it was from the heat. cuz it gets really hot in the storage area for the gas tanks and battery storage. that new mexico heat will destroy anything. so ya i wouldnt advise leaving your batteries in a very hot enviroment.
  3. about the usaa loan you dont have to be an officer or NCO i am an airman and i can get loans but you have to be in the military. i havent taken out a loan yet becuase i like to pay for stuff with cash dont like debt.
  4. chicken liver is the best. either let it ripen in the sun or dont let it ripen works either way. my brother caught these on chicken liver. my brother me and my nephew with chicken liver fish.
  5. i never bought one from bps but i do have a bass tracker pro 17 i love the boat havent had any problems yet ( knock on wood) so i think you are making a good decision. oh and i can go two days driving all around this 36,000 acre lake on a 6 gallon tank. havent had to touch the other tank yet, but i also only have a 40horse power.
  6. dude that was crazy im glad you posted that. thanks.
  7. looks like you have a pattern going good fish.
  8. well the wife wanted to go this weekend so i went out on sunday. started off the day throwing river 2 sea crayfish(the baitstore owner that i bought them from wont stop talking about them. says he limits out in every tournament so far this yr using them.) but anyway im like ok i will give these a try. well 10th cast of the morning i was fishing this bare bank with no cover, i hook into a 4lb smallmouth i get it right to the boat and go to lip it the thing jumps and hook comes unbuttoned. so im pretty mad wife says should of had a net. so we come to this rocky cove throw it out and bam another hit. this one i bring in it was a decent one. later i am flipping some standing trees and bring in a dink largemouth, so i head to another cove throw into another bare bank area and catch this another smallie not to big. but that was it. i got to watch an ABA tournament weigh in and all these guys caught theres flipping into the trees and brush well i couldnt get bit in there. but im still learning this lake. i got summer patterns down pat. spring not even close. but here are the pictures.
  9. when i fished tournaments they checked livewells before every tournament. you guys should check into that.
  10. transformers awesome, and it was filmed here at holloman airforce base. got to see the new 08 camaro before it even came out.
  11. well guys going to try it again with my wife this time. she wanted to go tomorrow so she didnt have to tell me twice. but water was 55 degrees last weekend hopefully it warmed up. but what would you guys suggest fishing tomorrow? the abundance of brush, points, all the rock? just wondering and what types of lures. i know a guy who has been there a few times this year and limits out every time on those new river to sea crayfish. things are crazy when you fish them they stand up all the time like in the defensive mode. im going to try some tomorrow to see how i do ok i will let you guys know how i do tomorrow.
  12. ya im sticking with supertech i used that all last weekend and did not have a problem with it.
  13. most were caught on a pearl xrap. my biggest being about 1lb was caught on a *** finesse worm. this lake is hard in the spring cant wait till summer. and heres a few white bass pics also. and a couple of the lake
  14. entry for new mexico..first one caught this weekend on a *** finesse worm. second one caught in september 2007 on a white terminator spinnerbait.
  15. caught my first silver salmon in alaska at 3 so thats not a bad age at all.
  16. thanks guys for the replies so you do not think its ok for me to drive my truck in just drive. i should put it in tow/haul mode. i have a 17ft bass tracker 1988. its really light for a bass boat. i cant even feel it when im towing. and im pulling it with a 2005 tundra v8 4door.
  17. hey guys wondering if you guys use your cruise while you tow? some people do i know but was wondering if it is bad on your trucks or not? i am going saturday and sunday and got to thinking this thanks.
  18. me and my buddy are taking my new bass boat out for its maiden voyage this weekend hopefully all goes alright. the water in the early morning is 56 degrees and by afternoon hovers around 62. the lake is 36,000 acres and so many coves with alot of brush and rock in them. just wondering what you guys think my approoach should be. oh and the water clarity is stained to clear. my approach is going to be a watermelon *** finesse worm on my finesse rod. on my flipping rod a watermelon jig with a sweet beaver in watermelon red. cranking rod/spinnerbait rod is going to be a chartreuse shad crankbait or white spinnerbait. and i also am going to have a swim jig on another rod. if you guys have any other suggestions let me know. i would have more rods with other stuff on them but im letting my friend use them becuase this is his first time fishing since he moved down here so he doesnt have anything.
  19. i like to throw it over points with alot of grass on it or flats with alot of green grass. the grass has to be about 1-2ft below the surface and those bass love it when you left it softly sink over top of the grass. calm mornings also. senko or topwater.
  20. i cast with my right reel with my left. on all my spinning or baitcasters.
  21. thats awesome i really respect the army.. my dad was a combat engineer and saphre. i am in the airforce now i cant relate to the 15 or 18 month deployments, but we do go on 7 month and its hard on the family. i got my next 7 monther starting in january take care man and be safe.
  22. i had a 40lb thrust minn kota bow mount trolling motor and me and my buddy used that for tournaments and we could go 8 hrs on one battery. and we like to use the trolling motor alot. so with a 55lb thrust you could probabbly go about 3-4hrs i would buy two batteries for that.
  23. ya 26 gallon tank in the tundra pretty sucky. gas is 3.42 a gallon here right now. its about $35 fill up my wifes saturn, and like $92 to fill up my truck, but i wait until it gets to half to fill it up everytime cuz i get scared i might go crazy to fill it up from empty. i was looking on mapquest like 3 days ago at cheapest gas and there was still places where it was 2.80 on the east coast lucky son of a guns. boat is 12 gallons good thing my buddy has agreed to pay half for gas. this is the times im glad the military doesnt lay off people.
  24. the river i fish is 20-30 ft wide and 5 ft at its deepest point. i use alot of white spinnerbaits, pop r's,manns baby 1- rootbeer color, and 1/8th ounce buzzbaits in chartrueuse color. thats all i use whether drifting or wading. and the river i fish is a gem that nobody knows that there are huge smallies in. 19-20 inch is a regular all day thing.
  25. my favorite and some of my best fishing trips have been in the rain i love it. topwater, spinnerbait or senko and its money. my first spinnerbait fish was caught in the rain. it was pouring fishing this ultra clear lake threw by this laydown and there he was.
