good luck and your right nothing like it. wading into nowhere dead calm no one around and your catching big ol trout. i loved to do that back home in michigan... same thing with the river smallies. good luck again.
Well me and my wife decided to go camp at the lake this weekend and it was a good time a little windy but good time anyway. We started out saturday morning and fished until about 10am with nothing to show for it. There was a tourney going on that morning and the winner had 15lbs we talked to the guy who took second and he said to fish SHALLOW.
We went back out at about 4pm and i was throwing a white chatterbait with a hula grub trailer threw to a point inside a cove and caught a nice smallmouth. Later about 10 casts later i catch another little barely keeper smallie on some rocks in about 1ft of water. My wife was getting upset cuz she hadnt caught anything. So she decides to throw to some bushes and nails her first bass of 2009 and first bass on a baitcaster she was very excited. A few minutes later i hook up with a 10 incher on the chatterbait no pic.
Sunday got out for a couple hours and only caught 1 bass flipped a tube into the middle of this really gnarly bush and caught him. I did lose a couple sat on the tube at theboat but thats it for this weekend.
Well i didnt make it to this tourney. But donbeatya did very well took second at the first lake they fished Ute lake new mexico. Then our buddy took first the next day at Conchas lake new mexico and they were non boaters. But ill let donbeatya give the whole report.
donbeatya fish he caught 4 but i only have the pic of 2.
Jermaines bass he caught 2 but they were both 4lbers and won.
Hey guys me and donbeatya headed out this morning to try our luck again. we got on the water about 7am and started fishing. water temp when we started was 45 degrees and warmed up to about 55 degrees later in the day. we thought we would have a better day than we did but that didnt happen. we fished points, brush, ledges everything. Mike managed to catch 5 white bass and one wiper i belive its called. its a mix between striper and white bass so they say on tv. Mike caught all his on a strke king sexy shad series 3-4 crankbaits along rock walls and points. I on the other hand only managed to catch one smallie on a green pumpkin tube on a point. So that was our trip for sunday. it was really fun even though we didnt catch many real bass. on the other hand we did see some cool stuff today. we drove up to a island in the middle of the lake and there was a ram on it. just chilling on the bank. so dontbeatya wants me to take a picture and i get up on the front deck and he beaches the boat right in front of this thing as its grunting and stomping its feet. i thought it was going to jump in the boat i snapped a pic and we took off. saw 4 deer also. so all in all it was a good day. dontbeatya is going to add the pics later.
i would love to see that...my depthfinders have been broke for a yr and just havent got around to getting neew ones. but i do pretty good for a 36000 acre lake and catching bass.
just wondering why people choose the hud bug over the standin yabbie? the yabbie comes with a hook already in it the hud bug doesnt. the yabbies are cheaper and do exactly the same thing.
ok this could be a dumb question...i dont have an onboard charger in my boat but i was wonddring does an onboard charger charge the batteries while your fishing. the one i saw on a guys boat that i know his has a cord that he can plug into a wall or campsite or w/e so he never has to take his batteries out.
anyone live near dover afb in delaware? i possibly could go there but im not sure. just wondering if anyone lives near there and how the bass fishing is?
if you want one that floats get the 3x strike king finesse worm good action to. i personally havent had much luck on them. my best luck has been on the netbait 4in finesse worm. i just bought the 4in zoom and they have great action i will be trying them tomorrow.
i took 5 to my last tourney. pitching rod, spinnerbait, crankbait, finesse, shallow crankbait. which some rods have multiple uses. he also had a rodlocker for me to so i could have brought all mine. just depends on the boater.
ya there the bottom walkers they have a good action in the tail but thats it. the blugill you made me has way better action. i need one in shad color now lol.
