Im from central michigan and we have some awesome smallie waters where im from. Our favorite jerkbait to use is the lucky craft jerkbaits in american shad.
Depends on the club. Me and my buddy fished out of a 14ft jon boat for 2 seasons. Had a nice front deck a small 7 horse motor and a 45lb thrust bow mounted trolling motor and a cooler with a pump made into a live well. I still remember the first tourney showing up with that camoflauged beast and everyone looking at us 16 yr old kids lol. Did pretty well to finished 9th overall in the standings with 50 teams. They had respect after the first couple tourneys. Now 9 yrs later had a real bass boat fished bigger tourneys and since sold that moved to Guam and am fishing saltwater. Ready to be back in the states in a yr so i can get back on the freshwater.
Nice fish..man i miss the fall colors of northern michigan. Unfortunately couldnt be home this fall. Was supposed to deploy to afghan but got cancelled.
Squarebill, spinnerbait and a swimjig for the submerged logs. For the submerged grass depending on how deep it is i like the DT series crankbaits from rapala. Plastics also work well probing deep grass. Just throw the depth that goes right above the grass and when it gets hung up rip it out and usually you will get hit. Also topwater early in morning.
Hey guys im going to buy a crossbow soon to hunt for pigs and deer over here in Guam and was wondering if anyone uses them? Whats your favorite brand and all that. Thanks guys. Im new to this whole crossbow thing.
Small 1/8th oz buzz baits like the one strike king sells, and pop rs are awesome. Those are the only two i use while wade fishing for smallies and we do awesome in northern michigan.
There somewhat fast..when you try to grab them there quick. they can take off a finger in a second. There super strong to theres a certain way to grab them. They rip apart coconuts with ease so ya a finger would be nothin lol. And yes definitely eat it.
Haha ya everyone says it looks like a big spider... We cook it in coconut milk, garlic, and salt. Good eating right there boys. Oh and its butt is like a lobster tail. People pay big bucks for these bad boys.
Well i moved to guam about a yr and a half ago on a military pcs. I tried fishing out here but its really fished out. Catch some fish here and there but not many. So i started crabbing recently. The coconut crabs are land crabs. So we just put our really nasty stinky bait outside caves at night and go away for about 30 min come back and there chowing on the bait then just scoop them up. This one weighed in at 3.5lbs and is the biggest coconut crab i caught so far. These things get huge so i really want to catch a monster. This one somehow crawled up my wall and was trying to get into a cabinet in the garage. These things sure can climb.
