Anyone used these? I been using the pit boss and love it as a flipping bait and also bought some boss dogs but haven't used them yet. Whats the reviews?
Been catching bass on frogs here in arizona since january in the gila river been having a blast. This time they were all over the spro poppin frog killer gill. Biggest were 4.3 and 5.1. Had a blast caught 22 outta the yak. Here are some pics.
I get the whole Lippi g thing because ive fished many tourneys and its awesome to lip a toad. But any tourneys they let us use nets i will now because ive lost a few toads and that's not happening again.
Nah man im actually fishing the gila river that runs right by phoenix international raceway. Same kinda water though. A ten ft flatbottom with a trolling motor would be perfect im fishing outta my yak now.
where do you find this atlas? I've never even heard of them. Theres a million lakes around where I'm from in michigan and interested in finding out about them. Tired of going home on leave and fishing the same lakes that people found out theres bass finally and getting pressured way to hard now. Need to find new water.
Air temps are int eh 80s water temps on the big lakes are mid 50s some areas are just hitting 60s some fish just started to bed this week on the big lakes. Quite a few 8-10lbers being caught on trout swim baits and bedding fish.
Hit me up with a PM i could take you to one of the rivers here in phoenix. i been laying waste with frogs. March they should be in full spawn mode. Should be pretty good. i been catching 3-4lbers. Let me know if you want to do it and when you will be in phoenix. Im off saturdays, sundays and mondays,.
Starting to like AZ after this last 3 fishing trips. A total of 62 bass over 3 trips not to bad. Been froggin for a good 12 years being from michigan its a must. Didn't expect it in AZ. Here are some pics. Was using all white and all black spros.
I watched a couple episodes of this round in maine and there lame. They been going out and catching 50 1lbers so boring to watch. They need to go back to my home state of Michigan and at least catch 4-5lbers again. Even texas and florida couldn't match that. MLF is kinda boring when you watching them catch 13oz to 2lbers lol.
Well i said i would have pictures up so here they are. Had an awesome 2 days out frog fishing in JANUARY. Definitely can't do that in my home state of michgian. Shoot even some of the arizona guys were freaking out and didnt believe me until i showed them proof. Ended up with 54 bass over two days. What a riot. First picture is a picture of the area i was fishing. It was a super long section of the river that splits off from the main river then comes together again with the main about a 2 mile section. The fish were up in the dead brush you can see on the shore line but the frogs had to be throw about 3ft out from the brush and they would come out and inhale it but if it was on the brush nothing. Most of the fish came off areas where there were indents in the brush or the brush came to a small point or something different like a stickup in there or where the land came to a point. You could catch 3-4 fish in those areas. Lost a few giants but biggest fish was 4-1 with quite a few 3s in there.
Thanks for the replies everyone. I went out the next day tossing a black spro. And caught 23. Loving the gila right now. I'm going to put up pics as soon as I get them off tablet.
I thought about a popping frog but for 1 don't have any for some reason. And two I only brought the one tied to my rod lol thinking I might get a couple but not as many as I did,. Glad I didn't break off.
Miss creek smallie fishing. Biggest smallie I ever caught was out of a small creek my aunt lives on in Michigan. 6.2lbs. Freaking giant. Its know for 3lbers occasional 4 but a 6 man that was awesome.
Ok so today I fished the Gila river here in AZ and laid waste. I went 31 for 36 frog fishing. Ill put pics up later. Probably the best frog fishing day I ever had. Biggest fish 4lbs lost a giant right at the shore but oh well. Was casting along these dead bushes that line the entire river let the frog land and the rings disappear then twitch the bait in a walking motion but only make it go one way. Then make it go the other a few seconds later then just twitch in the same spot then slowly move it forward and they would inhale it. I fished the west side of the main bridge and the water was a lot clearer up there and ran out of shoreline to fish after a good 2 mile hike. So I went to the east side and it was like chocolate milk. Didn't get another bite. I was just curious if any of you had any tips for frogging in the muddy water or if anyone even does that. I been frogging for a good 10 years possibly my favorite technique. From Michigan to Alabama. I feel like im pretty good at it but never ran across a lake that was half clear and half muddy. If anyone has any tips that would be great. Thanks.
