  1. I see what your saying. Definitely need some trebles hanging off the bait.
  2. My buddy killed the smallies at lake havasu with river 2 sea s wavers. And i have caught them in a small stream in Mi up to 4lbs on a spro bbz. Smallies will annihilate swim baits.
  3. Dude idk. I just got out of there i hid behind the bush for about 30 seconds then zig zagged my way in the opposite direction. My buddy was in his yak same river different section. All the sudden a round hits the water within 10 ft of him but he can't see anyone so he yells. Then another shot same area. Now he pulls out his handgun and racks it. Shot goes off again. He aims in the general direction and just starts firing. Sees a guy running away from him. So common out there. I had a guy shooting straight down a trail i was walking down. Luckily it was in the opposite direction. What if it was towards me he woulda nailed me. I walked up and he stopped shooting until i walked by. They all look like border jumpers anyways. I try to talk and they just speak spanish and continue shooting. The cop i know says theres a lot of cartel action at night down there and a lot of other things. And he has been on the force for 21 yrs. Nobody of light skin color goes there at night lol.
  4. I would throw a spook off those points with the bass chasing bait. Especially post spawn. Should be killer.
  5. Yup been there. Im from northern Michigan originally and never had any problems with ppl out in the country. But now im stationed in Arizona and this place sucks. The area I fish is the Gila river south of phoenix. It goes from Phoenix way out into the desert. The bass fishing is phenomenal. Tons of fish in the 3/6lb range and quite a few in the 7-10lb range every yr are caught. BUT this place is dangerous. Tons of shootings all the time. People are always out just shooting off roudns and always towards the water fro some reason. So when your out on your boat expect a few rounds to somehow come close to you every time out. A lot of my friends have had to discharge there side arms because of these idiots. But my story starts here. I found an area on google maps that looked promising. I head over there and get out of my truck and its a hiking area. But I figured there were probalbly people shooting out there and as im walking out I hear a gun shot. So I stop and wait. About 3 minutes later a guy walks right next to the bush im crouching by. Hes carrying a huge duffle bag and doesn't even notice me. So I stand up and shuffle my feet and nothing. Then I see a guy about 30 yds away. I step out yell over to him and wave in a friendly manner. We make eye contact then he steps behind a bush. So I stand there he steps out again we make eye contact I say hey and wave again cuz he was carrying a rifle. All the sudden he brings it up aims towards me and I jump behind a bush and he lets off a round. I turn around and high tail it out of there in the opposite direction. I get up the bridge look down and see them next to my truck just chillin at their car. I walk down throw my stuff in the back of the truck jump in and get out of there. Very scary moment seeing a guy aim a rifle at you.
  6. Thanks everyone. Probably heading out again this monday. Shoumd uave some more pics only supposed to be like 103 here lol. Froggins getting on fire.
  7. lol thanks man. and good luck
  8. I flip anything from 4lbs and under into the boat. When Im flipping or froggin6cuz I use 65lb braid. But if mono or fluoro i lip all fish 3lbs or bigger.
  9. Headed out to the river again here in arizona. Fish every monday usually. Fish were all caught froggin/flipping. Caught 15 on the frog and 11 flipping. Hooked a ton of dinks flipping only 11 came in the boat. Was flipping a yamamoto flapping hog way back in the grass with a 3/8ounce tungsten and bobber stopper and 3/0 straight shank hook. Nothing big but Best 5 were 3.24, 2.54, 2.5, 2.44, 2.1. Thanks for looking.
  10. Recently stationed in AZ now and they have had more rain than usual in may but im not going to say it was a lot lol. The locals here think it is but not really. They even freaked out when I was out killing it on frogs in some sprinkles. They said they don't fish when its rainy. Guess its better than no rain though.
  11. I fish the gila river in Arizona every week. Literally all you need is 2 rods every outing. Frog rod/flipping rod. That's how you catch fish there. River is like 6ft max in every "pond" section I have fished. Its nothing but trees and grass. Shallow water anglers dream,. Pattern never changes I stick to fishing this river cuz I have caught multiple 5lbers outta there tons of 3/4s. In small tin boat tourney the other day a 12lber and 10lber were caught there. Froggin and flipping lol.
  12. Ive put multiple flipping hooks right between the eyes of some bass with a mag heavy flipping rod in trees, docks, thick matts and everything inbetween. I feel like if they can take a yanking in the jaw like that im sure they will be fine. Pros and amateurs have been yanking bass into the boat for many many many years. Don't see much of a decline in bass. Or a ton of floating bass after a tournament. It will be fine.
  13. Ya I use the flapping hog all the time but u can only get like 2 fish max.
  14. I would punch that grass. Big weight and a creature
  15. Anyone use this bait? I love flipping and punching and it looks awesome. Curious if anyone has used it or not,. Thanks,.
  16. IMO definitely Michigan. Since I have been active duty military I have been to a lot of different states. Still nowhere compares to Michigan when it comes to hunting, fishing of any kind and beauty. I have bass fished a lot of places and still haven't been somewhere where you can just pick a random lake and catch 4-5lb largemouth and smallies out of the same lake. Ya we don't have a ton of DD bass and ive actually never heard of anyone catching 1. But for consistence of good healthy 4-5lbers we got it made. Hope I can go back one day.
  17. Interesting fact I heard when I went to elite series event at havasu. John Murray has won more boats then anyone. 36 boats. I can't imagine winning 1 lol.
  18. Well depends on tourney rules. But let me tell you thisMe and my buddy started fishing tournaments in high school 11 yrs ago with our 14ft camo jon boat with an 8 horse power motor. We bought a foot pedal trolling motor mounted it on front. My dad turned an old cooler into a livewell for us and we fished for a season out of it. You should have seen the ppls faces when we showed up day 1 with that boat. But We finished 9th out of 50 teams that season. Its not always about the boat but how to maximize the water your able to fish. Ya we couldn't fly 20 miles up river or whatever to fish b ut we did awesome in the areas we did fish.
  19. Lol ya it is. My first frog fish was caught January 22nd this yr. That trip gave up 34 I believe.
  20. The good thing is. Its a good frog bite here almost yr around in the river. Maybe 2 months of not.
  21. Headed out to the river in Buckeye Arizona. Been on an awesome froggin bite for awhile now.Monday was epic. First go on a point that had schooling bass and all i had for topwater tied on was a spro poppin frog in nasty shad color. Threw it out there and bam 3lber. Caught a bunch of small fish on the frog out on the point then proceeded to the backwaters. Was catching all the fish either throwing back in the cattails or skipping way up under the overhanging brush. Caught 30 total. Should have caught around 50. And should have gave up our smallest of 2.77lbs a few times. But we lost some good ones at the boat a few times. Could have brought in 20lbs but oh well we didnt. I don't think my scale is right. but until i calibrate it these 5 weight 17.28lbs.
  22. Mainly been fishing frogs since around November. Spro poppin frogs and spro bronzeye both in nasty shad color. Caught a couple on jigs, wake baits and swimbaits,. but 99% of my fish have came on frogs.
  23. Thanks man. Im using MacBook pro. Using a go pro camera. And idk how much ram. Because I don't know what that is lol. Just know its soemthign to do with computers.
  24. Ok guys I been using iMovie 08 for a few years now for editing videos of salmon and bass fishing. Well today it does not want to work. My thumbnails turn grey when I import movie into iMovie or when they do import every clip is rejected so I cannot edit. Not to mention it takes FOREVER to import. 2hrs everytime for a 3 hr clip to process. Just for it not to work. What is your favorite free editing software? Thank you.
  25. Thanks Chris appreciate it. Will probably pitch with it tomorriw if frog bite turns off.
