  1. Late evening. Around 8:00pm. Fat Ika Green Pumpkin.
  2. Yes sir. That was from September of last year. Caught her on a Fat Ika from Gary Yamamoto.
  3. All good Hookem. Your a good man. Just wanted to let people know that he wasn't pimpin a site for his own benefit.
  4. Thank you sir, now you have one (1) free fishing experience with me tomorrow... You ready to catch 20+ each? Man I hope so. Still shaking my head just thinking about it. I think they would have hit anything on Saturday. One of my biggest came right behind that massive flat boulder that people use to sunbath on (gowanda). They seemed to be ambushing my grubs when I threw them past the boulder and let them flow on by it. Can't wait to go again. Was tempted to go yesterday but didn't want to fish the place out.
  5. I fished a tributary for Erie called the Catt Creek. So I'm sure the action was just as hot on Erie. Had my best day of fishing ever. 40+ smallies and I went through a whole 20 pack of GYCB 5" Grubs and than continued to slam them on *** Lake Fork Craw. Still shaking my head and if anyone told me that they caught 40+ in 4 hours I would call them a liar. But Denea and I basically have done that in the past couple of weeks. Just crazy. Anxious to hear if the fishing was equally good on the main lake. I'll post some pics once I get my lazy but to transfer them from my camera to my flash drive. Should be up tomorrow.
  6. Just came in today. Can't wait to try them. Really impressed by the quality. Skirts are beautiful. Will be pairing these up with * Chunk and flinging them either today or Wed. I'll post pics and a review at some point. Really recommend these to fellow Jig chuckers based on appearance alone. They have a similar head (maybe the same) as Karu's jigs. See no reason why these wouldn't produce some monster fish. Thanks again Gman. Do yourself a favor and click on his website under his profile and look around.
  7. I thought about that and paid close attention on Sat. I had it happen 3 times and never had a birds nest. The only thing I thought was that somehow it got kinked down in the spool without it appearing like it was an overrun, thus I didn't see that it needed clearing out. But I can't say that I've ever heard of or seen that happen. That's kind of what I meant. Not a massive birdsnest but just enough to where the line gets "loose" on the spool. With you using different lines and reels and it still happening the only other option like Hawghunter was saying is that it could be your guides. But it being down in the spool so far that is not likely. Tighten up your cast control a bit and see if that helps.
  8. Guys Denea isn't spamming. It's not his site or anyone that he knows. He is a legit man. Have known him for years. Just trying to pass along something that has worked for him. That's all. Cut him some slack.
  9. Smallies by far. No doubt about it. Nothing compares to the air shows that the smallies give ya. Not to mention how hard they tug at the line.
  10. Sounds like the same problem I was having about a month ago with my Citicas. Ended up me not cleaning out a birdsnest all the way. Loops where way down into the spool and eventually the pressure weakened the line. Now when I do get a backlash I make sure to clean it out all the way. Haven't had the problem since.
  11. Really really like my Shimano Clarus 6'6" medium power moderate fast action. IM7 graphite. Caught seven LM yesterday from 12"-16" and the rod just feels great when a fish is on. For 50 bucks this rod was a steal IMO. Denea just picked one up and I hope he likes it as well as me.
  12. Beautiful fish man. 8-)
  13. Hey I Shark I know your asking about topwater. But my buddy Denea and I have both had 30+ smallie days on our local creek/river fishing from the bank. He had his 30+ a couple weeks ago and I had mine on Saturday in a span of 4 hours. The ticket? 5" Gary Yamamoto Grubs. Denea was using Chartruse colored ones and I was using Green Pumpkin ones. I was rigging them texas style weightless with a 2/0 EWG hook. You can swim them or jig them back to shore. If you can't catch smallies on them than there not there. Top water hard baits can be good for smallies but if you want to slay them than I would stay with the plastics for now until you get the hang of it. Another tip....a lot of my bass where being caught in less than 3 foot of water next to rocks and small ledges. A ton of smallies were on gravel beds either still spawning (suprised me) or just finished up. Hope this helps in your conquest to kick some smallie rump.
  14. Thanks for your input guys. Zillon is looking pretty good right now. Owned a Revo already and wasn't that impressed compared to my Shimanos. Never have owned a Diawa reel before so I think I will give that a whirl. Thanks again. 8-)
  15. 5" Slim Trick Stick in Watermelon red flake.
  16. A nice fattie indeed.
  17. Going off Deneas success on the Catt Creek in our hometown.....I threw a grub last night to the smallies. Not just any grub though....a nice fat 5" Yamamoto super grub in Green Pumpking color. 14 smallies in 45 minutes while waiting for my son to finish his swimming at the high school. Nothing of massive size. But plenty of 2 lbers. Bad thing was I went through 9 grubs in the process. Very very brittle. They ripped up very fast. On the bigger fish it was one and done.
  18. What's the difference if you buy the same stuff at Walmart as you would a Bass Pro? There is no difference.
  19. Okay with the ole rebate check coming in from GW soon......I was going to grab up a 50mg. But I think I may go another route here. I have reels and rods for most situations except a 7:1 burner. Want to grab one for froggin, buzzbaits, and throwing jigs around downed trees/bushes/ and heavy slop. Thoughts on a couple reels? Zillion?
  20. In my personal experience there is no competition when it came to my preference. I owned and fished both a Citica and a Revo S. The Revo may have had more drag pressure and bearings...BUT the Citica felt more solid and my casting distance increased. In the end....the Revo S was sold. Again just my thoughts, not the thoughts of all.
  21. Along weedlines, flooded timber, parallel to shore. Fish them like a jig. No weight.
  22. Those are some crazy fees! You could buy a new Avid with some of those!
