  1. I'm at the burnout point. Mainly because the smallmouth fishing is pretty dead right now and I don't feel like wasting gas to go catch 16" largemouth. Been pretty busy lately so fishing is on the back burner. Lucky if I have made it out for 3 hours in a total of three weeks.
  2. 18 inches is a dink? I say that's a nice smallmouth.
  3. Love my Shimano baitcasters. My Pfleuger President is already failing me after only owning it since the fall. The bail keeps closing on me during the cast. So....once the funds come in...I'm moving to Shimano for my spinning reels as well.
  4. Fish mine on 30lb power pro so I can feel it's doing down there. Best fish have come on swimming them through the grass and jerking them like a jerkbait. With a 5/0 Gammy 1/8 weighted hook. When you kill the bait using the weighted hook it shimmies on down with the tail still moving. Keep experimenting. Not too many people use them in my parts. None actually that I know of. Try to match up your swimbait colors with the forage in your area.
  5. Ah the stupid things drinking can make you do. I'm sure none of us has never done anything stupid while being drunk as a teen. : Kid is lucky to be alive.
  6. What did you expect lol?
  7. Downsize and go with grubs or shakey worms.
  8. Agreed..... This product sounds a bit "out there".
  9. Gone to mainly an old backback for right now.....because I'm moving down creek banks for most of my fishing. But I have the red Okee bag as well for when I take my inflatable out later on this summer. I use the one side pocket for hooks and the other for my weights/snaps/beads and other misc tackle. Works pretty good and they all fit pretty snug in there.
  10. Good luck Burley. Had a small taste of your luck yesterday. Skunked for the first time since the beginning of May. Everyone around me was bringing in nice sized LM and I ended up being skunked. I don't mind getting skunked by myself.....but when others are slaying them and I end up with zero..... :-[ >
  11. Every single picture I cringed and said "oh man". That is brutal. Almost happened to me last week crankbait fishin. I usually always lip my fish but with trebles I hold the fish by it's belly and use the other hand for my needle nose. Accidents still happen though. Man what a gash! :'(
  12. Or some people just love to fish different kinds of baits. Nothing wrong with buying higher end baits. Part of the fun if you ask me.
  13. I don't. So far I have been catching fish just fine without one. Most ponds that I fish are pretty clear.
  14. Amen to that. Was skunked for the first time since the beginning of May yesterday afternoon.
  15. Been having pretty good success on a certain 5" bait. Believe me....I have had 7" bass hit this thing and get stuck. Your numbers will not go down and the chances of a larger fish go way up. Pulled a nice 3.8 out of my dads pond the other day with mine.
  16. I think the old Curados were made in Japan too. The Citica 100dsv was made in Japan for sure. I have one. I posted that because I thought I read rumors of changes being made to go with Malaysia for all of the reels.
  17. (4) Baitcasting rods (2) spinning rods
  18. Nice smallie! Fishing the slop can be annoying at times. But the rewards of pulling junk off your bait after every cast is worth it. This is the time when I start pulling out my big LM for the year. Most of the areas I fish are starting to get "sloppy" around the shorelines and I welcome this time with open arms.
  19. Not sure how small the new 200 series is going to be but the article did say that they are a smaller profile than the current 200d series. They sure do weigh pretty close to the 100s of right now.

    stuck hook

Try some needle nose pliers. But usually if it's a single hook I can back it out a bit and get it out. Never had to cut the line before.
  21. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewcuradociticapreview09.html Good to hear. Although I'm not sure I like the look of the new Citica. The Curado will be my next BC reel. I need a burner and this is lookin good.
  22. Not being a smartass here but the Yozuri could be the problem. I know RW and others will disagree but I have had terrible luck with breakoffs with this line this year. Stopped using it and the problem went away. Doubt it's your hooks gap. If your tying your palomar correctly it will not be an issue. Owners are top notch.
  23. You may have stabbed one Dave. Same thing happened to me except the fish stayed on. When he came to shore the hook was inbedded in the side of the fishes stomach. Now thats sharp. Must have caught the fish in the side when the lure hit the water. No trailer hook needed.
  24. Patience, patience, patience. Way to go Dave. I start getting really restless if I don't have any bites in a 15 minute span. Way to stick with it! Very nice fish. A 4lber is always cool. Still waiting for mine this year. 8-)
  25. Dangle, Seriously take my advice in the other thread that I responded to you earlier this week. Your just going to waste money buying from Basspro with shipping charges, taxes, and rod fees. http://www.***.com/ Go here and browse around. If they don't have a rod that your looking at then give them a ring and work with them. In the end paying for a 70 dollar rod at Basspro will cost you almost 90 smackers after charges. *** will grant you free shipping, no tax, and no rod fees. http://www.***.com/descpageRDCSHIMANO-SCCR.html Check these rods out. I have this rod and for the price it's a very very nice rod. Lifetime warranty and you will pay as much for this as you would those other rods at Basspro after shipping. I would go with the 6'10" MH Extra Fast tip. Same rod I have and it fishes jigs and plastics very well. $89 dollars shipped. You can also take a look at the last Citica model that they have in stock. 85 dollars can't be beat for this real. A tad big but when it comes to it your not going to get a better real for the price. I have three Citicas and love them all. http://www.***.com/descpageRLCSHIMANO-SCIT.html Fletchero a respected member here is also selling some reels here on the forums. You can grab a Revo S from him for 75 bucks. I had a Revo S myself but prefer the Citica. Anyway more options for you. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1213796793
