  1. Welcome Joel, Great videos man. Please be sure to read the forum rules and pay particular attention to the ones about videos.
  2. I can't wait till the Bass Resource Roadtrip. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas. I just want to hook into one of the big Smallmouth that they have there and see old friends and meet new ones. I can't wait.
  3. Zoom out, and scroll to that lake. Then zoom in. Don't hit the exit button or it will take you back to where you are and you'll have to do it all over again.
  4. You will find that you will loose fewer fish on a Med when fishing almost any shallow to med diving crank.
  5. Several years ago you could argue that I was a finesse fisherman. I hated when my friends called me that. To me it meant that I was narrow minded in my approach to fishing. I have worked hard to become an overall versatile fisherman and now I have confidence in a lot of different techniques. My home lake is an offshore structure lake so for the past three years I've been working to become proficient at being that guy out in the middle of the lake that everyone looks at funny as they speed by. I love fishing docks and have won several tournaments over the years doing so. I don't like fishing close to shore. I can do it but I'm always looking for those spots that most people miss.
  6. The best lipless crankbait rod that I know of is a Med Fast or Extra Fast action rod. You have enough flex to make long cast but enough backbone to be able to rip it through the grass and fight big fish. Pair it with a 7.1 reel and you should be set. A Squarebill is a totally different animal. I'd go with a Med Mod rod for those.
  7. I guide on a lake that has feeder trained LM. When we first started this feeding project the bass were blue color. (Even more blue that the one in your picture.) The biologist and Purina played around with the feed and we found out that the blue color was caused by too much fat in their diet. Once they fixed that the bass color turned back to normal.
  8. They use what is working no matter what company makes it. They don't say anything about it and they try not to be photographed with it.
  9. I have two and I love them. They are amazing reels at that price.
  10. I don't have a top ten but these are a few that I always have in my bag. Trickworm Finesse Worm Rage Craw Super Fluke
  11. I'm pretty excited about Seaguar being an advertiser here. I caught my Personal Best bass of 9.98 out of the grass with 8lb Seaguar Fluorocarbon back in 1996. I've been using it on and off ever since. I've never used Optima though.
  12. There is always room in someones boat.
  13. It was originally called the Tandem Rig and then the Double Fluke Rig and then the Donkey Rig but this is the first time I've heard it called the Mule Rig.
  14. The YUM Crawbug. You bet I have. I put the big ones on a Magnum Spot Remover and bed fish with them. They have been my go to bed fishing lure for years. The other thing you can do us put them on a large shaky head like the new YUM Pumpkin Ed jighead that has a 4/0 hook and drag it slowly.
  15. My thoughts exactly. This lure will come into play eventually. I can't wait till the shad spawn to try mine out.
  16. So long as your swimbaits are swimming upright it doesn't matter what the head is doing. The bass to care.
  17. It's not against the rules for competitors to swap information among themselves. They just can't get outside help.
  18. Ike caught one to move him back up. We'll see who's sandbagging at the weigh-in
  19. You have shaken hands with one of the nicest guys in the business. He always has the best stories.
  20. Can you imagine how good he'll be after he builds some upper body strength. That's pretty dang good there.
  21. The conditions for the next three days tell me that the water temp isn't going to do much moving. If it stays in the upper 40's this is gearing up to be a winter bite and there isn't many better than Mike McClelland in the cold.
  22. The original ones were smooth but the new ones have ribs inside.
  23. That's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I love old F100's.
  24. Welcome
