Sherman may be the most talented man to ever play the game. I do not know or care. What I do know is that I had the game on as mostly background noise, and just happened to see his melt-down. His aggressive and irrational tirade was beyond the pale. While you can talk all you want about history and emotion there is no justification for that kind of behavior. It simply reinforces the stereotype of football player as thug IMO.

Decided to use my Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker i got for Christmas for the second time and made some ribs and brisket....well the brisket is still cooking and the ribs were pretty darn good especially accompanied by some sautéed brussels sprouts.

I'll play using teenager to 20 something year old logic..........................What's the best? Why of coarse what I own now, and then that will be junk when I get something new and shiny, and then that will be the best of all time. Why is it the best? Well.............duh..........because I own it. What ever you have is junk because I have, like, owned 2 or three reels over the 18 months since I started fishing the local pond and have become pretty much a bass fishing expert, so I know what I am talking about.

Went fishing today, I had one on on but it spit it out right at the bank. I was using a tube. What is the best way to set a hook when using a plastic tube? My pole is short and pretty flexible.

I'm in the same situation as yourself. I'm trying to narrow it down to about 6-7 combos. I keep switching reels on different rods ect. I have one 7'7 mh/m cranking rod that goes up to 1oz. I don't throw dd cranks often so I'll make it work. Like Dyer just said,overthinking isn't good. Use what you have and IF you find that you need another combo then add it to the arsenal.

Thinking isn't bad. OVERthinking is. I think you're fine with what you have. Is that extra rod gonna catch fish that the others can't? Or will it just be another thing to kick and step on?

You could try using a loop knot on the jig. That could give you similar action. If you try the split ring, let us know how it works! Worth a shot....

We got our smartphones for Christmas last year. I love that thing. IMO, its better than a laptop, I use it for everything.

I would disagree with the kill them and throw the bodies away idea. I would say if you can't find some way to use the meat then killing them is wrong IMO. I was raised to eat anything I killed or leave it be.

Do not cut the snakeheads with a knife. They bleed all over the place. Do as the guys say and clobber them on the head and dispose of the bodies in a trash bin. There are past studies in Maryland and Virginia waters regarding snakeheads. Now Maryland says that these invasive species are not a threat and to release them after being caught. Virginia says to kill every one you boat. Snakeheads do eat the same forage as bass and other fish so the snakeheads are seeking out new waters to feed. This is why you see them as you do in the canal. I suggest speaking with one of your state's game wardens about the snakeheads and how Florida wishes you to handle the ones you catch.

I never fish a Fat Ika with weight. The bait will fall away from you on its own if you rig it tetacles forward (4/0 Gamakatsu Offset Worm Hook). Weightless, the tentacles flutter up as the bait falls and are pushed back against the body when you move it forward. The Fat Ika REALLY looks alive!
