Sounds like a money grab too me! I don't even buy into the Super Slick, the ones I do have on reels came on the spool free when I purchased them. Personally don't see the advantage of some of these "bling" features.
So I like to flip and pitch my baits on mono line, simply because it is extremely low maintenance and I do not fish often enough (unfortunately) to drop 20 bucks on like 150 yards of braid! Anyways, a lot of people who I talk to about this ( I use trilene big game) tell me I should be going up to 20lb test around SPARSE cover. Last summer I landed my pb largemouth (5pnd 2oz 19.5inches, fatass bass) on 10lb big game around some serious tree branches and weed cover. My question is, if I could land this bass out of sparse cover on 10lb line with medium spinning gear, why are people shocked when I tell them I flip with 14lb mono on my baitcasters?
My favorite phrase that you hear pros make after they win a major tournament is. "I caught it on a prototype lure". Which is code for. "I Used another company's lure and now my sponsor is frantically working to copy it so they can capitalize on it."
Yea I like the movement of it. I don't crank that often but a few times I break it out when nothing else is working I have caught fish on it, I only have 1 in my tackle box
The shim e stiks are the ones i use. Watermelon with black flake. Ive had a fish on them in pretty much every body of water i fished this year. Ive never used the GY brand to do a comparison though.

Jitterbug always screams at me to get the net out for little 2 lbers so when he wanted the net for this thing I didn't want to bother. However when I saw the dives this thing was taking at the boat I changed my mind!
Ok good, so I'm not the only one thinking this doesn't make sense. Like I said, I've straightened heavy hooks with 30# test. I don't think I need a special "tie zone" to make sure my braid isn't going to fail on me... ON TOP of cutting out however many feet to get to the next tie zone...
I'm a bit confused myself.
Is their idea that once I use up the 36 inches of reinforced section, that I'm supposed to cut off 20 ft of line to get to the next reinforced section before reattaching a lure or hook? No thanks.
I agree with the statement about if its working for ya, dont worry about it. I have 14# mono on my jig rod, and I actually prefer mono over fluoro. Im not a pro. I fish for the pleasure I get out of it. Iv caught good fish on 10# mono with a mouthfull of hydrilla. If Im using a certain technique and my line fails, ill switch. If it aint broke, dont fix it.
Sounds like braid. The arbor knot should tighten down nicely to the spool. Before you do that, though, I would suggest wrapping your spool in black electricians tape. This should keep it from slipping.
the arbor knot will work as I use that on reels without the holes, make sure that the tag end has a big enough knot to catch when you tighten the line. if your reels have the holes moisten it a lil when putting into the holes then turn the handle slowly the line will catch and the line will tighten up then you can spool the rest. I use this on a Berkley line winder so if you are spooling while on the pole may be a lil tougher.
They are not counterfeit because they are not real... That is a scam website. When you go to check out you will get an email telling you to do a wire transfer to a bank in a 3rd world country claiming that is where they will ship from. There are no reels... they just want your money.
Yep, Xcalibur alone has discontinued several very good lures. They had a small jerk bait that they called the twitch bait that was essentially a pointer knock off, and it was a very good one. They had a bigger jerk bait they called the XS4, and I think they discontinued that too.
I picked up all my Jimmys on eBay, probably averaged about $6 a piece on them, and they can't be beat for that price. I love my LC Sammys, but a Jimmy is virtually on par with them, and is much cheaper, they are top shelf lures.
It looks like you had an awesome day. Congratulations to you sir. I enjoy kayak fishing, but I haven't quiet found my bearings yet. This weekend will be my first time going to a place without strong current though so maybe I'll finally get the skunk out of my boat.
I'm surprised that no one's mentioned bandit crankbaits. For 3-5 bucks a piece they're great. I suck at crankbaits but I've caught more on bandits than strike kings. I know it's not a confidence thing, since I don't have confidence in any of them.
this works really well and is in fact easy.

I deleted mine a year ago. I don't regret it. It just a bunch of whiny former classmates using socail media as a mean of venting. Or using social media as if it a person they can talk to. instead of personally deleting them, I just deleted myself.
Pike will hit anything that moves. A guy that was on a fishing trip with me was brushing his teeth standing on the dock of our remote cabin on a fly-in lake. He was rinsing his toothbrush in the water and a pike came up and bit him on the hand!
I know you hate to hear it, but everybody is right. Save your money and buy a combo in the $150-200 range. I bought a cheap combo (abu garcia silver max and berkley cherrywood) and I wish I had saved up and gotten something nicer. The rod broke and I had to replace it, and the reel has to be taken apart and lubed after each use just to keep from getting backlashes. My brother has a abu garcia revo stx and it is definetley worth the money to save up and buy something nicer.

Whats funny is I started out having never used a grub. My first go to bait was a senko. I picked up a couple of packs from Gander mountain and spent a whole day fishing them. I couldn't believe what I have been missing out on. I had fish as big as the grub bitinig it. Really was eye opening.
