  8. It isn't the barometric pressure making the bubbles it is the barometric pressure allowing them to stay in one piece and not pop. To me as soon as I hear a frog I start chucking them. I caught a fish on a frog this year and water temps were in the low 50's but it wasn't a hollow but the idea is the same.

  9. Fun night at the retention pond again tonight. 9 fish in all, the biggest at 5lb 4oz my biggest so far this year. pictures are not that great, tough in the dark , although the full moon helped Black spinner bait after the white spinner bait stopped working. I was working both of them pretty fast. <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0108_zpsa7ab7709.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0108_zpsa7ab7709.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0108_zpsa7ab7709.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0109_zps5cc01e71.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0109_zps5cc01e71.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0109_zps5cc01e71.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0110_zpse96e8116.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0110_zpse96e8116.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0110_zpse96e8116.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0111_zps722d936d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0111_zps722d936d.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0111_zps722d936d.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0112_zps77dbda83.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0112_zps77dbda83.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0112_zps77dbda83.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0113_zpsa5434415.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0113_zpsa5434415.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0113_zpsa5434415.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0114_zps95e9bb7b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0114_zps95e9bb7b.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0114_zps95e9bb7b.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0115_zps489b814e.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0115_zps489b814e.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0115_zps489b814e.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0116_zps431f9b2a.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0116_zps431f9b2a.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0116_zps431f9b2a.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0116_zps431f9b2a.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0116_zps431f9b2a.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0116_zps431f9b2a.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0118_zpsc5a947e0.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0118_zpsc5a947e0.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0118_zpsc5a947e0.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0119_zps18cadc3c.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0119_zps18cadc3c.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0119_zps18cadc3c.jpg"></a> <a href="http://s1040.photobucket.com/user/ktm313/media/IMAG0120_zps54037c2b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1040.photobucket.com/albums/b407/ktm313/th_IMAG0120_zps54037c2b.jpg" border="0" alt="phone uploads photo IMAG0120_zps54037c2b.jpg"></a>

  11. Woke up early to meet my buddy in the surf. Tide was high and water is calm and clear. IT was lake like condition. I needed a casting distance so I use my Core 100 on GLoomis CBR843 with 20# PP S8S. Started at 6:30am, fan casting the beach. A few bait fish jumping here and there but no bites for the first hour and a half. While talking to my buddy I got a hit, set the hook and game on. This one gave me good long runs almost thought it was a Bay Ray until I see some colors. Here she is 37" California Halibut from the surf.

  12. I'm the biggest novice/inexperienced Jig angler in the planet, my only experience is throwing them in my bathtub to see the action... I was wondering instead of braid with a fluro leader... Can I run straight fluro? What size? Would I lose sensitivity or is there other cons or pros of this?

  13. I can see this not going so well for me lol !! I can picture it now, tossing a jig...or at least trying to toss a jig from one of those things, setting the hook, missing the fish, only to get nailed in the mouth by my own jig and then falling over falling out, or in this case rolling over maybe, or on the other hand I hook a shark and it takes me out to sea LOL !!! I think I will leave the fishing rods on the boat, thanks for the offer HY !!!!

  14. Great write up. Some people take it way too personally when someone talks about one company being better than another. This was just one person's experience over the course of a long time, and they were impressed! Just take it for what it's worth, nobody is trying to make anyone change what they like!

  15. Believe it or not its the zoom tiny fluke for spotted bass in my local lakes, I've used, the jackall clone fry, crosstail shad and clone gill as well as many high end plastics and nothing produces as well as the zoom tiny fluke for me

  18. There are prey that bass feed on seasonally, most are obvious and listed by your local fishery management sites. Some anglers forget bass are predators and will eat a wide variety of critters like dragon fly and their nymphs called darner nymphs, hellgrammite, small water snakes, baby turtles, salamanders, frogs, worms, small birds, young ducklings, suckers, leeches, lizards, sculpin, young of the year; catfish, bass, carp, crappie, trout, bluegill, green sunfish, crayfish, minnows like shiners and chubs, several shad species, herring, peach etc. The prey that is most abundant and easiest to eat is the prey bass prefer. 19. I like the powerteam lures jp hammer shad and finicky tickler. Strike king also has an AWESOME goby bait that I texas rig......absolutely hammers smallmouth in the rivers around here. It would do well on the DS rig.

  21. Everybody has given you good advice. If you're out during the day, target the deeper water. If you can stay on the water until right around dusk, they will start moving up into the shallows to feed. Suspending jerk baits in shallower water right around dusk can be very productive.

  23. Replacement of the tip-top is the correct repair. I'm not aware or any place that sells inserts only. Even if they did, getting seated and mounted to last would be unlikely if not impossible.

  24. Tell you what, anyone that wants to try it out back at the launch is more than welcome to. I warn you though - once you try it, you're going to like it a lot!! The new Vantage seating is no joke - it has three adjustments (back, leg and lumbar) and is a high quality mesh material that allows air to move through the mesh and keep you cool on hot days.

  25. When the E series first came out I got 7 or 8 of them for $80 each at a sportshow. For $105, I'd bite. Its about what you'd pay for some of them ebay. Under $100 would be a great deal but $105 aint bad and if you want one now get one.

  27. I am Lews casting reel user. I have 8 Lews in total. 1 Team Lews Pros, 5 TPs, 1 TSS, and 1 Speed spool. I put my hands on a lews spinning reel and it didnt really feel as nice as the old Abu Cardinals that i had (which are half the price) I was really unimpressed....that and i read online reviews from customers that felt like they got shafted by buying such a poorly constructed reel. So this year when i bought two new spinning reels, i went with the Stradics and i will not look back. Moral of this story, BUY LEWS CASTING and SHIMANO SPINNING.

  28. I have the Gen 3 Revo STX and it is a nice reel, but is no way as good to me as a Lew's TP or Team Lew's reel. I guess it is all opinion and nothing more.

  30. I usually fish finesse worms on a split shot rig, with the split shot 12" or so up from a 2/0 G-Lock Gammy hook. This is my favorite finesse tactic and I've caught some really nice fish on it.

  43. " Be Real " " Be Realistic " While Im at it? How about you put me 6 ft under and left for dead because that is when Ill quit. When Im dead. That what makes people adults. They give up there dreams and they lose their youth. I might as well be peter pan and live in neverland where you never grow up because I wont give up on my dream just because some "Adults" who sit in a cubicle and have eventful conversations at a water cooler, tell me to. I respect your view, respect mine.

  45. I love threads like this... For one thing, I get so many good ideas and new 'leads' on baits. I'm so grateful for this board for that! The other cool thing is that threads like this show just how many different presentations can (and have) produced fish for people... There's always new stuff to learn, and probably a lot of productivity hidden in the piles of tackle we already have.
