  1. Yep, braid is your problem. It's to limp. Go with a floating line like a co-poly or a mono leader. A little trick I do when I'm having trouble keeping the nose up is a take some paraffin wax and rub it onto the last three feet of my leader or line. This will make the line float high and give you a great action.

  3. Neither are negative, although I will not claim they are positive in all situations. Tennessee River smallmouth like tobacco and Budweiser, but may prefer whiskey!

  4. I was using an unpainted 1/8th unpainted crappie ball head jig tipped with nothing but a crappie nibblet and caught this guy!

  5. Call me crazy but did I really just catch a Smallmouth out of the "Dead Sea"? To me it looks like a light colored smallie and she sure fought like one but I need some verification please! She took a 1/2 oz Predator Jig in "That Color" + Watermelon Red Flake Rage Lobster w/ fully JJ's dipped chart claws.

  8. Forgot to attach a picture. Here's the size of the whites I was catching yesterday. Despite not finding the green fish, it was still pretty fun to be whacking whites this size.

  10. That's a relief. I'm not the only person that thinks the Sasquatch legacy is a stupid joke. Right along with Loch Ness.

  11. I lived in Washington state for close to 20 years, did a lot of fishing, hunting, and hiking. Never saw a sasquatch. Never expected to see one either as they don't exist.

  12. No where for something like that to hide around here. Then again, imaginary animals can hide about anywhere I guess

  13. Put super glue on the first 5 to 10 inches of your braid. It will stiffen it up and won't tangle.

  14. Cone to think of it, I was rather strong/fast in my retrieval. The fish didn't seem to mind, though, since I had a few other blow up at it aside from the one I landed. I forgot how much fun topwater fishing was in the morning as the fog is burning off the water.

  16. Did you have to rub it in by posting my picture, haha...hey I accomplished my goal today, DINKMASTER!!!!! It seems to be a trend. I am beginning to wonder if Clayton and you bring me for my photography skills. Yeah that fish today was a great ending to a slow day, when you said you got one, you didn't imply like it was a fish of any size. So I'm watching you reel it in and as soon as I saw its mouth come out of the water and head shake, I about shat my pants. So yeah I was excited, didn't know how good she was hooked bc you said you didn't get a full set on her. It will be interesting to fish that spot some more.

  20. Ok, I love this game So detective in me (no, I'm not a police) says: The cap's width is probable 7". On the picture the fish's length looks like about 2.9times the capt's width. So the fish's length is 7"x2.9 = 20.3" Calculator ( https://www.bassresource.com/bassfishing/fishcalculator.html ) says: 4.2 lbs But it looks more towards 5 to me.

  21. I think fish have a better sense of smell then we give them credit for. I always, ALWAYS spray my lures with a baitfish or crawfish scent, just in case. Then again, Im a oily slimy Italian. Haha

  22. The question could be when to use a spinnerbait vs a crankbait. Both these lures are fast moving and appeal to active bass through flash and lots of vibrations. A jig is more like a soft plastic worm, moves slower usually appeals to bass that are less active. Now if you are asking about a swim jig, a chatter jig or a Scrounger jig that have similar actions to spinnerbait bit or crank bait, the decision is less obvious , the answer is the same; use faster moving lures for more active bass and slow down for less active bass. How do you know? Trail and error. Tom

  23. Believe it or not regular schoolbags are pretty tough. Ive been using the same Jansport schoolbag for 2 years now and the thing is solid. 3 plano boxes for plastics and hard baits, a small plano box for terminal tackle and stuff like pliers, scissors etc go in the front pouch and im set.

  25. I also recommend you try a few different handguns before making a decision. I ended up with the Ruger SR9c after trying a variety of others. It was the best fit for me, and comes at a very reasonable price. I would also take a look at the Ruger SP101. In either 2.25" or 3" it is heavy enough to handle .38+P ammo fairly comfortably, with the option of .357 mag if you want to make a lot of fire, noise, and have some serious firepower. For absolute deep concealment, I don't think there is a better pistol than the Ruger LCP for the money. It is only available in .380, and for some that is a deal breaker. Not me. A .380 that you can carry is far better than a 1911 that is locked up at home...
